  1. It is interesting to see how few Guild leaders are actually willing to step up and take responsability for their guild members behaviour. It is down to us as community leaders to make positive steps to improving the community. I at least expected some of the other larger guilds to step forwards here and at least join the discussion.
  2. I think in a post about the surposed 'Friendly War' being fought a discussion around Port timers which are in direct contradiction to the term 'Friendly' is a valid point of topic.
  3. Well said I think the start is getting all Major Guild Leaders signed upto this. Leaders should take responsability for their members and help by setting an example.
  4. Perhaps what we require is a Community Manager. Someone whos whole responsability is around fostering a healthy community and tackling subjects such as this. However in the mean time I think it is down to us players to actually take a step and make a difference.
  5. I think that is best kept to PMs. I will be in touch with you once I get home if that is suitable?
  6. Well let me start then. I am Kuthara - Leader of one of the largest guilds in game (KOTO) and founder of the Pirate Coalition which is made up of all Major Pirate guilds. I will speak with my guild and bring this up in the next Coalition meeting. Should you have ANY issues with anyone from my Guild or the Coalition I ask that instead of biting, you screen shot it and bring it to myself or one of the other Coalition leaders and we shall deal with it. Its time WE made the community better.
  7. Hello. Recently I have been feeling less and less like playing Naval Action. Some game mechanics have had a partial impact on that such as Port Timers, lack of end game content, Nation/Diplomacy work. However I understand that this is a Early Access game and that these are being worked on by the Devs. The main reason I have felt less like playing the game is the Community. I know a lot of other people who feel the same way. The Community has gone down hill quickly since the release of EA. The boards are full of people boasting, making snide comments, playing point the finger, insults, trolling etc.. the in game chat is similar. What finally made it click for me is when a conversation around Pirate mechanics got picked up by a Mod in Global chat who then proceded to insult all Pirates for playing the way we do and not the way he wants us to. Followed by abusive language. This of course was reported. However has our community fallen so much that even the mods are now feeling it? We could blame the game. We could blame the Devs or the Admin or the Mods but in actual fact it is OUR fault. We have allowed the Community to devolve into this state and have all played our part in it doing so. I am sure everyone has fallen victim to getting a bit too carried away but right now chat and forums are in a horrible state. So I make the suggestion that WE the Community tackle this. We are the only people that can improve the current state. I challenge especially the leaders of the Communities and Guilds to take this seriously. Lets not rely on the moderators or the admin who are all far too busy to activly solve every chat issue and take it upon ourselves to instead set an example for others to follow. There is no reason why we can not remain civil in this game. Win or lose. Some of my best times were fighting SLRN in Jereme where we both enjoyed the battles and anyone who shit talked from either side was promptly dealt with by their own side. Now new players who join are subjected to chats full of nonsense and normally several arguments going on at once. So leaders, if you see someone in your clan talking tripe, have a word. Set an example for all others to strive to replicate. If you get angry or annoyed, put your keyboard down and go for a walk. Yours sincerely, Kuthara.
  8. It hugely matters what happens outside of the port. One of the main ways to prevent a Port capture is to blockade the port and intercept the flag. This tactic seems to have circumvented the blockading fleet. Thus it has been used to deny the Spanish/French a stage of their defence.
  9. Which Pirates are you fighting exactly? Since the vast majority of ports we take in that timezone are undefended. In fact I have never met a defensive force of more than 3 in that Time Zone.
  10. I am confused. What exploit was used by the British?
  11. Contradictory to popular belief players in Naval Action are generally a good bunch. If you come over and join any major guild you will likely find yourself in a good position pretty quickly. Likewise if you bring your guild over you can find support from already established councils and coalitions. We have supplied guilds coming over before with enough to get them started again and I know the Brits do something similar.
  12. I love how blunt you are. Lol. These are cool guys. Do not get to play with them as much as I would like due to different time zones but they are very capable captains.
  13. There will always be people who want to go against the grain. Those who want to rebel against the establishment. That is a fact of life. You are free to do anything you want as a Pirate however if it goes against what the majority want, expect for there to be consequences for your actions. I am a huge believer in people being able to do as they wish and make their own decisions. I will never tell someone what they CAN or CANT do. However If something interferes with the Coalition plans... which is made up from all major Pirate guilds, then we will obviously act against it. We decide on our direction by vote. Everyone in the Pirate Nation is welcome to contribute to that.
  14. Of course you can. However there are always consequences for your actions. Just like real life.
  15. Your comment makes no sense. Please consider rephrasing and trying again.
  16. I just think that people who take payments from the Brits and pratically fly their flag should be in their Nation.
  17. On behalf of the Pirates... we do not want them. Please send them to the Brits.
  18. Im confused. Do we post everytime we win a battle now? If so would it be considered spam?
  19. What this last post shows.. Is that you have not read anything here.
  20. Sorry but I do not understand what you are trying to prove here. We are working with the Danes and we have said this several times. We do not have a formal agreement with them and do not plan to enter into one. We have an mutual respect for each other and decided that Britain as the larger, more aggresive and quite frankly cocky Nation was a more suitable target than each other. I think the funny thing here is that it is FTS making the rally cry that they are the only real Pirates beholden to no one. Yet they are the only Pirate guild under the employment of a Nation with clear payment and targets. Everyone is of course free to play how they want and we have never said otherwise. We are very open about how we play the game but FTS are consistantly trying to call out all others as the 'dogs' of other Nations while they themselves are firmly under the British thumb. Although the Brits may be looking for a refund.. if those Victories can be refloated.
  21. Yeah... no. Unlike Mr Valco no other Pirate Guild spams their recruitment post in chat with the tag line 'The only real Pirate Guild' Also the Coalition is not under the employment of any Nation and we have no Alliances or pacts. We treat other Nations with the same respect that they treat us. We set a Gentlemans agreement with the Danes to fight the British rather than attacking each others ports. In regards to Spain we have simply assisted them in getting back on their feet. We fight them daily but do not attack their ports. At no point have we taken any gold or material from any other Nation as part of an employment.
  22. This is quite possibly one of the silliest things I have ever heard. Firstly I do not know you. Which suggests you are not even part of the Coalition. So the only person restricting your game style is yourself. Secondly even if you was in the Coalition you are still free to fight anyone.
