Agreed! At the very least a " you are here " indicator on the pop-up map screen, although I'm sure I'll just keep getting totally lost at sea.

You can set up Paypal in a matter of minutes. If you plan on getting a computer very soon, just buy in before you miss out. If you aren't getting a computer in a few months, I would tend to agree with not taking up a player slot that will not be used. Here's hoping Santa has a nice computer on his sleigh for you.
