  1. Personally I would like more gun slots on my ships, there are 11 classes of guns but my Trinc only has three slots! Sorry but for me this suggestion ties in with the suggestion of more outposts, we shouldn't be allowed to have the option of outposts and ships in too many places on the map. It would just be easy mode. I mean, imagine if @Gregory Rainsborough had 25 outposts and two Snows in each of those, no one would be safe anywhere on the map.
  2. Was the problem not that everyone switch to the nations that had the best regions as opposed to taking the regions? I'm not certain it did anything to encourage RvR.
  3. I can think of several people who can not help but post every single victory in global. A couple of them, I suspect in a desperate attempt to try and stay relevant as they fade into the background.
  4. It would be a terrible idea in my opinion. Surely it will lead to nations with one massive clans because it will be the only way get the stuff from the port. And/or cause prices to rise dramatically purely down to greed. Nation A own two teak ports, both of those ports are owned by the same clan. Those two ports are the nation's only source of teak, that puts them at the mercy of that clan. The clan will be able to ensure they keep their own contracts as low as possible, say 300 a log but they will put it on contract in the nation's capital for 5k a log. You would argue that if they can keep the price low then that will allow them to sell it lower in the capital, BUT never underestimate the allure of a massive profit margain
  5. I and many others prefer to sail frigates (mine are T/W or very occasionally T/T before anyone accuses me of "only wanting to sail F/F run away ships") but currently they seem to be slightly redundant because everyone seems to be sailing around in 4th rates and up. This has been made a LOT worse with the introduction of the patrol missions (no one needs to mention the one in the Bahamas, I am aware) because that's what a majority of people are taking into those zones. It's one of the primary factors in me avoiding them altogether, I understand why they are taking them but it doesn't change the fact that it ruins the chances of a decent fight in a frigate. I propose two options: Either have the Patrol missions a shallow water/Bahamas thing only. IF as people claim, they go to the patrol zones to find quick and guaranteed PvP then they wont mind not being allowed to sail line ships in the patrols and combat news will stay as active as ever. ( My personally preferred option as it would allow the rest of the map to return to normal) OR Introduce rating limits into the patrol missions that change in the same way that the location of the patrols themselves. I'm not sure if the zone is randomly chosen or on a set rotation but for example: Monday, Antilles Patrol - Maximum rate allowed is 5th Tuesday, Nassau Patrol Wednesday, Hispaniola Patrol - Maximum rate allowed is 2th (It's a "patrol", not sure 1st rate ships were historically used to patrol waters regularly, but I could be wrong) etc etc. Personally I believe most of the people that will object to this will be those that take a group of lineships into the patrols because they rely on them to deal out the damage required in the first place. But that is of course just speculation. @admin On a connected note and just out of curiosity, do the Nassau patrols see any less or more action than the other patrol locations?
  6. Sorry but NAL was a failure, so why should this game have to change to appease the few that played it? Let's face it, the devs were over ambitious with trying to run the two games side by side and only one was ever going to survive. If as many players enjoyed that style of play as people are claiming to justify their lineship gank zones then THIS would've been the game that failed, not NAL. Yes combat news is probably more active since the introduction of the zones, but it's the not epic fights to the death that I think the devs envisioned, more that a large group at of line ships attacks a smaller group or solo ship, quickly dispatches with it and then moves onto the next. Or on the very rare occasion you get a couple of frigates in their fighting each other, previously mentioned large line ship group will join that battle.
  7. I don't like what they do, and that is take the game away from what it originally promised to be and the reason so many people invested in it in the first place.
  8. Because if it was a BR issue I wouldn't of made a post reporting an issue because I wouldn't have tried to tag in the first place
  9. Tagged a french ship 3 times, each time the timer got to 2 and the attack button greyed out and the countdown went to 0 and nothing happened
  10. I assume these numbers include bonuses given from wood types and built in trims?
  11. @admin Could more Free Ports around the map help this situation? Especially in the Gulf of Mexico area. No ones wants to sail from Tumbado to Pensacola for example to flip the port(s), then sail all the way back down to then have to repeat the trip the next day. I know there is El Rancho but with the exception of a few ports there are massive safe zones either side of it that can't be captured and it is still up to an hour's sail to again Pensacola area if that is where you want to do RvR. I'm sure the Florida area would benefit from a nearby Free Port as well.
  12. So if I am sailing in a Trinc and I meet a group of 4th and 3th rates. You are saying that I should be throwing my ship away and giving them gold and PvP marks instead of trying to escape. Might I remind you that sinking gets you NOTHING? (Except maybe a load of abuse in the global channel) Can I also remind you that in a majority of cases the other nations very rarely will join a side to even things up. They'll either keep on sailing or join on the attacking side.
  13. You guys really have completely lost the plot, haven't you? It will just come down to whichever side have the biggest ship(s) and the most repair mods. Everything proposed will only ENCOURAGE further ganking.
  14. Can you explain this in more detail? Does this mean you need to be closer to tag someone or that that size of the circle in which people get dragged will be smaller?
  15. I fail to see your point, so you managed to stop hostility being raised because you found the missions? That's not a port battle is it now?
  16. So as suspected, the french needed the server's help to break the "stalemate" it seems
  17. I assume by that logic, the server will be coming together to multi flip the french ports?
  18. That's crap and you know it, there have been Swedish, Prussian, Spanish and Pirate ports in the Bahamas for a while that you have not attempted to take. So don't try and claim one nation is blocking up RvR in the Bahamas and that there is no one to attack there.
  19. Three fights were fought today at the same time, would you call that "avoiding"?
