  1. Tried to demast the second Brig in the Endurance challenge, got over 55 masts hits and they still didn't go down. What upgrades are those guys carrying?
  2. THAT is the fine line they are trying to find. But any change they make is going to please some and piss off others
  3. Is the open world geography getting an update? That map looks very confusing, much of it doesn't seem to correspond to the current map. (As in, are geographical features being added/moved?)
  4. Yeah, let's not encourage people to group up even more because they are afraid of getting killed. The gank squads are big enough as it is
  5. Don't get me wrong, I personally prefer the current system of having to work out for yourself how much damage your masts have taken and having to "guess" whether or not you should repair rig, I would also prefer that knowing sail damage was purely a visual thing as well.(For both yourself and the enemy) But I think in the current system we definitely need to keep track of enemy ship damage via UI as like you say, it would take quite a bit of work for the devs to change damage representation on ships.
  6. The problem is that it is already so easy to take masts, do we really want to make it easier by people knowing that they only need to hit a specific mast once more via the UI?
  7. An indicator for your own might be a good idea, but I'm not sure the enemy should know the conditions of your masts
  8. How many open world battles are fought 1v1? The reality is that if you go out looking for a fight then you will encounter a group FAR more often than you will encounter a solo player. We need to be able to repair masts several times throughout the battles if the devs are going to continue to insist on making demasting so easy. The current tactic of most experienced PvPers is to go straight for the demast. If the devs want to limit chain (which I wholeheartedly agree with) then they need to decrease the chance of losing a mast to go with it. P.S. Can you tell me where you got this upgrade/book that lets you repair 35% of your armour every 5 minutes?
  9. Yes but when people insist on going round in large groups, exaggerated amounts of repairs are your only hope. Some of us enjoy a fight and not the gank. Heavily limiting the supplies is only going to discourage people from actually trying to fight for themselves and will instead encourage them to group up more.
  10. Don't worry the current player base is not short on arrogance. More than a few names come to people's minds when arrogance is mentioned.
  11. I'd say the Trinc is more difficult to master, but can be very rewarding once you do. (I'm told) The Endymion seems not punish you as much if you make a mistake though.
  12. Again, why is that a bad thing? You must admit turning a ship into the wind and boarding right at the start of the battle and then having 2 or 3 other ships graping is terrible for gameplay and the game in general. Boarding should be an opportunistic thing, not the cheap easy way to victory that it has become. And if you want to rely on boarding to win your battles, then you should still have to work for it.
  13. Has the rate at which repairs have been destroyed increased recently? It seems a lot more noticeable the last few weeks than before. Could it be related to the ships now taking longer to go under, and that we are just noticing it on ships that ordinarily we just wouldn't have been able to loot before? Either way I feel the rate could be tuned slightly, being able to loot repairs at sea helps prevent you having to return to port as often, therefor increasing potential PvP opportunities by keeping more ships out on the water for longer.
  14. Then all that means is that a player has to work to board a ship, not just turn it into the wind and rage board. Explain how that is a bad thing?
  15. So to confirm, the longer it takes to get to and loot a sinking player's ship, the more repairs are lost as the ship goes down? So for example if a ship has 100 hull and rig when it actually "dies" and the ship is halfway sunk when you loot it then you'd only get 50 of each? (Roughly) @admin
  16. So if someone hits the rig repair, you have to start on the mast(s) from the start?
  17. When you repair rigging due to shots taken to the mast (mast still intact) does it instantly repair the masts to 100% as I have seen some people mention or does it follow the same rules as sail percentage repaired? @admin @Ink
  18. As the title says, I feel that in the current system mast thickness is nowhere as important as mast HP, so I propose that instead of increasing the thickness it increases HP or some combination of both.
  19. That's because you lost the snow
  20. I am having the same issue with my redeemables button (No DLC). Perhaps the issue is server side? @admin
