  1. I agree that it is stupid that your style of play and ship set up are dictated by a single game mechanic. The game need to encourage and embrace different styles otherwise battles just become like factory lines: Shoots masts, grape,board and repeat
  2. And people claim the British deserve to have the other nations constantly camping the capital because "they have it too easy already"
  3. I crafted 3 3/5 ships with no extra trim bonuses in a row. But hey, RNG ship crafting is all the rage right?
  4. Long story short: I should be repairing 40% (assuming the base is 30%) sails with Rigging Specialist, In many tests conducted I am in fact only repairing a maximum of 24% of my sails per repair. Has anyone else noticed an issue?
  5. The issue is not just limited to alt farming itself, the other issue is groups of friends that are using forged papers to jump around nations and taking it in turns to surrender/board each other in exactly the same way it works with alt farming

Storm Crow and myself were also discussing these "kills" just before restart, it seems these occurrences are immediately obvious to many people yet it seems to happening far too frequently without punishment. I might also suggest the devs check this player's previous clan. I'm certain you'll find a link to another certain clan that is drawing a lot of attention in this area lately. (I of course apologise to all involved if I am wrong)
  7. How is sinking a member of the same nation alt farming?

On a similar note, it would be nice to be able to track what your ship has done over it's liefetime, for example: Total distance sailed Ships sunk/Captured Damage Dealt/taken over the lifetime of the ship I'll admit it wouldn't be a game making/breaking feature so therefor not exactly important but I think I would be a nice thing to have (Apologies to the original poster for hijacking the thread, it just seemed related to their suggestion)
  9. Title says it all really, it would be nice to be able to zoom out a bit further on the standard camera, I feel sometimes it is too close especially with the larger ships (I am aware I could use the free cam before anyone points it out )
  10. The conversation has deviated somewhat from my original suggestion and turned into more bickering than debating. Seeing as @admin has already given a definitive answer, might I suggest the topic be closed to further replies
  11. I propose that protected zones stay but the instead of being able to call in AI to reinforcements that the battle should stay open to the defending side. This would allow nations to defend their capitals but would also encourage more open world PvP. At the moment there is no risk to sitting outside a nations capital and just waiting for a player to start a fight with a AI ship and jumping them. As a result large groups of ships just shit outside areas like Mortimer Town and KPR leaving the rest of the ocean almost empty. I'd also recommend having events at regular intervals around the map (say every 3 hours or so) with a guaranteed high value book/upgrade such copper plating or Art of Proper cargo. This would encourage more players to be in the same area at the time.
  12. Exactly my point, you shouldn't have to run at the sight of it. The fir/fir jib stacked bellona with allow you to run sure but that is all it will allow you to do

  14. I'm sorry but I still dont know why everyone's solution to the Wasa problem is to change it from a 4th to 3rd rate. Its rating has very little do with open world pvp where I feel the wasa presents the biggest issue. If you encounter one especially as a solo player in anything other than another wasa then your only choice is to turn around and HOPE it is not built for speed or say goodbye to your ship.
  15. There is no mention of nations or clans in the original post, so you can understand people's confusion when enquiring as to why that warning was given in the first place.
  16. I'd like to make the suggestion that the "history" tab is made persistent for say at least 24 hours instead of resetting each time you leave or log in. (I'm not sure upon which it resets) I believe this would be useful for situations where you disconnect and are then tagged and subsequently sunk/captured before you are able to return to the game. At the very least it will allow you to find out the name of said coward and plan your revenge (and/or negotiate a possible return of your ship if it was captured and THEN revenge! ). I'm sure there's other uses for this feature as well, possibly.......

  18. Already started phasing out ship crafting and now phasing out any actual need to sail anywhere. What are the odds that this promised coming UI update is actually just switching it over to a match making lobby?
