  1. Just some quick comments - they probably echo those of others. If so, consider them additional votes. First, the kudos - hadn't played for a couple of weeks and appreciated the new port map, a rip-roaring thunderstorm and the scenic stern lights. Suggestions: As others have said, more people on deck, including officers and marines. Cannon recoil Sea Gulls, and perhaps other sea-life, without over doing it. More variety of damage, falling yards, broken railings, severed ropes etc. Better holes in the sails, right now the torn edges look very solid, like a hole in wood, rather than fabric. Thanks again,
  2. Odds n Ends. My son and I are new to this game and are having a lot of fun. In the spirit of sharing our thoughts for improvements as requested, we present the following list. Apologies if some or most of this has been discussed elsewhere or actually is already included in the game and we just haven't discovered it yet, My teenage son's thoughts: More people on deck The addition of marines and small arms fire The breaking of spars and ripping of sails if too much canvas is put out in a strong wind Ships take more damage before sinking - not one of the 60 ship-of-the-lines in the five hour battle of Trafalgar sank (except for the Achille, which blew up). Make chain-shot spin My dodgy thoughts from a mind dulled by 40 more years of life: A sailing test course where you don't need to worry about 'enemy ships' but can just practice sailing in a variety of weather conditions; likewise perhaps a chance to practice shooting with some anchored old barks nobody wants any more.A more developed navigation component that might allow one to 'hand' plot one's course on a chart; heck, one could even get into transects, chronometers, and the like.HurricanesThe occasional sea shanty.Gold rewards for successfully transporting valuables from point A to point B. All for now. Great job, thanks.
