I'm honestly confused by the choice of France going chummy with the Swedes, considering France seemed to have something going with the Brits and obviously, Swedes and Brits never were on good terms. You keep telling us Slamz how you had it all planed out, was the Brits walking all over your lands and allies part of the plan?
I think its more of us Swedes can not fight a 2 front war and with the collapse of the pirates to our south and the French moving in we have to be friendly with them as the bigger shark is the Brit zerg now in our north! This same zerg poses a problem for the French if we fall, so it is in their best interest to help stop them where they are now also. So all I have to say is:

If you want to still play on PvP 2 and not be part of the US or Brit zerg then come join Sweden. We have a good group of captains that do everything together including Port Battles, OW pvp, missions, ect. Besides its fun to yell bork bork bork in global chat when starting a fight! We are currently waist deep, no chest deep in Brits who could not hack fighting the US so they are moving against us now, much fun to be had in the near future!

I may have missed someone say it but I am surprised I haven't seen anyone having wished admin well. Totally regardless of the patch flu is really nasty and I hope he doesn't have to suffer with it for too much longer. Get well soon Admin.

I see nothing wrong here? Friendly is no port taking, simple, line drawn we attack no ports to the south they attack no ports the the north, simple. I know it may be hard for someone as limited as you to understand but it is that simple. We did help the Pirates where we could when you Brits came in and said "we are taking your ports so we can go fight the pirates". We are not big enough to fight a two front war and the Pirates have been times more honorable than you. Unlike some of the other nations to the south we know who the real enemy is.

Been playing NA about 3 days now, in PVP 2. Just yesterday I switched from US to Sweden(trying to help balance). Anyway, how up to date is this topic as it relates to Sweden? Are these alliances still in effect? I don't wanna attack the wrong faction and stir up trouble. Any basic info about how the Swedish factions operates on PVP2 server would be helpful.
Also, I'm US(central time), usually on in the evenings after work. Not sure of the size of the Swedish factions, but hopefully I'll see some of you around.
I switched to the PvP 2 server from the PvP 1 server about a week ago. Played USA on PVP1, knew that the USA on PvP2 was way over populated so I went looking for a smaller faction to join. Checked France first and the reception was lukewarm at best (was even called a spy haha). Spent a couple of hours sailing around to all their ports looking at what resources they had available to them while trying to get a since of what their numbers and goals where. After a couple of hours I decided to try Sweden to see what numbers they had, within 5 minutes of talking in chat I had a TS login info and a clan invite and an offer of a ship to go fight in a PB at Fort Baai. I found the place to be I do believe. We have 10 to 15 on most nights US prime time in our clan, not sure of total for nation yet. We have a no port take pact with the Pirates to the south, but open PvP with them. To the North with the incoming Brit/US zerg things I think will be heating up on that front soon. Danes just to our north I don't know what their numbers are like and haven't seen many of them.

USA player from PvP1 looking to move to PvP2, who has a decent number on during US prime time other than the USA? Looking for organized clan that uses TS or some other voice program and is interested in the RvR game play. Ship wize I'll be starting from scratch, but my craft level is 22.

4. There will be a long maintenance on the night between 20 and 21 January.
5. Release date is 21 January. The release date depends on the time it takes for Valve to approve the release. It usually is done in under 3 days but sometimes can take longer. It will all depend on Valve now.
Short version
1. 17th Jan - Servers stopping
2. 18th Jan - Data wipe
3. 19th Jan - Head start
4. 20th Jan - Long maintenance (approx 9pm CET till 9am CET next day)
5. 21th Jan - Several exceptional ships given to all captains who logged in from 19-21
6. 21th Jan - Release (tentative on valve timing)
Of course we know that most plans don't survive when the meet reality. We do not discount the possibility that something might change. The riskiest date is the release date itself. If Valve is slow the date will be moved forward.
Some clarifications: So I can make plans.
1. So we really have all day on the 19th and until 9pm CET (2:00 PM USA Central Time Zone) on the 20th to log on to get these "exceptional" ships. But do we have all day on the 21st to log on as well? So head start is really a day and a half or 2 and half days?
2. Depending on Valve's 3 day release time frame does that mean release may not happen until the 23rd or 24th?
3. What time on the 19th will serves be up, 12:00 AM CET (midnight)?(5:00 PM US Central Standard time on the 18th) time zones are important here!

can you tell me which nations were the players who did not get in?
and were they in groups?
I was USA and not grouped, and there were two others from USA. I think 1 made it in. There where 11 British and 10 Dutch and it looked like it took 20 of them leaving 1 out and the other nations with 2 to 3 each were left out is what it looked like to me.

I was one that was left out. In all about 10 of us. From what I gathered we were all small ships of Snows or lower.

Check the original post, they usually happen around 3-4 PM EDT on Saturdays. Look at the events tab in port and you can see a timed large battle countdown timer. When that countdown reaches zero, then everyone can join. Alternatively you can also just ask SteelSandwich or DazedNConfused in global chat 30 minutes beforehand what's going on.
Any ship or rank requirements? I might be able to cap a snow by then! hum...... TS info in the other post still good?

The Traf battles I saw on youtube is what brought me here. I have only been playing 3 days, and the first I did a lot of new character's to check out most of the start locations. I have most of Saturday to myself as the wife and daughter are busy so would love to get into a battle, but I only have a yacht and JL rank. But I can sink with the best of them (that's why my character name is Isink Alot)! So what time of the day do these occur?

Beautiful Map indeed! Only thing we need now is an interactive one that shows all the resources for each port when clicked. Anyone know how to do that?
