Been watching a few 'new' players on Twitch and exploration experience has come up on pretty much every stream i have seen, without my input! It's definitely popular.

It's a lot more "realistic" to reward experience for exploration than it is for combat. Gaining knowledge is experience!

Not if there was only a single XP hit once discovered! You could also add 1 or 2 XP for every few hundred nautical miles sailed as well, yes that could be exploited with bots but that's not our job to police!

This is exactly what i had in mind, thank you for expanding it for me Elbows. Travelling across the map and exploring should give XP, the art of sailing is an "experience!" I have sailed many times in my life including circumnavigating the UK coastline in a schooner Believe me it was an experience!

Sailing around the Caribbean should be an experience in itself, discovering new ports should reward exploration xp. as should travel, think Fallout!

SLRN looks promising, i have already sailed and fought with one of those guys! I see you are the fleet admiral of SLRN, any chance of an invite?

Looks like a great community thanks for the welcome! BlueEagleGer i'm very interested in joining in, naval wargaming is my forte and my family comes from a naval background. At the moment i spend a lot of time on World of Warships and the naval battle sections of EmpireTW. I also spend far too much time on Black Flag. I've longed for a proper tallships sim, with crews and open world (no not potbs) this looks like it might be it.

I genuinely stumbled over this game by pure accident, while searching for World of Warships! Too say i'm excited is an understatement! Anywho, i'm new to the forums and i'm just introducing myself, i'm a huge naval game fan and this looks like the game i've always been waiting for, how on Earth did it pass me buy???
