  1. OK, thanx. What is planned for the new major version after the hotfixing will be done?
  2. Uuuhaaa, a new vanilla game patch has just been posted fixing the supply perk and some other things. Time to update your mod.
  3. The AAR won't continue? Just followed it by playing my own Union campaign and won the River crossing scenario.
  4. I tried the balanced one. Forgot to mention in my previous post, doh.
  5. I won the first campaign map as Union: dealt 4.000 casualties to the rebels while I lost 1.000. AI was doing some pretty suicidal things like attacking with weak units peace-meal into my defensive wall instead of pulling back and waiting for the reinforcements to come.
  6. This is awesome Darth! Can't wait to try the newly born baby! I to love that artillery has been nerfed and flanking improved not to say anything about other improvements which all sound pretty randy!
  7. Thank you very much for the suggestions David. Lots of new coding of unit AI behavior would be needed for those changes not to ruin the AI but damn, wouldn't that be sweet!
  8. Yeah I haven't started it for real yet, just went through tutorial steps. I really like AGEOD's implementation of combat aspects. Played their Alea Jacta Est series and I think their game simulates historical periods that it cowers superbly. Will definitely get back to CW2!
  9. Oh cool, I thought only range was taken into account and not damage!
  10. Delaying actions, flanking.
  11. Yes Nick, you having a prominent modding past one would think enabling modding options would be the first thing you will do when making your own games.
  12. Yp, it's there that I read it but forgot where it was.
  13. Antietam for sure since it was said so unofficially.
  14. Antietam will be made. It was said map will be real 3D while units will be 2D sprites. They will basically be able to port over current mechanics so less work for them then if they would be making everything from scratch.
  15. I find the game in it's current iteration very good. I sincerly don't understand why the game is getting these complaints. Maybe old players are used to things that worked for them in previous patches and are having a hard time adjusting to the new feel of the game. Again, I find the gane almost perfect. There are some little issues still that bug me but nothing major. Keep on going with the direction you are going Nick. I'm sure next games will get even better.
  16. Thank you David, your post more then surpassed my epectations! I edited my original post via my phone with the sentence that I know each game covers diferent level of command (tactical vs strategic) and that due to that they can't really be compared 1 on 1 but I see it wasn't saved somehow. Anyways, your explanation delivers to those who don't know what command level are AGEOD games all about. The things you mention are not game breakers for me so I'm happy it's not something even more serious. I assume gradual adaptation could be simulated but was probably ommited 'cos you would have to add a whole new layer of game design/engine coding for that alone. One more question. What PC game covering American Civil war gets it right the most?
  17. David Fair, I don't find neither side owerpowered/underpowered as posters above. If anything this patch has brought equlibrium between the two. Granted down the line of historically uncorect differences per side as you claim. Would defenitely be interesting to observe if any changes to the game as suggested by you to favour historical realism more, would make the game more interesting to play. I suspect game design which favours bigger differences between the two sides that were actually historically present is on it's own in this game to make each side more unique to play ie. more interesting from the casual gamer/laymen point of view. BTW David, you must have tried AGEOD's Civil Wars II. I've just got it myself but since I'm not that familiar with the whole war am wandering what's your take on it. How many things portrayed wrong in it? Is that game a more faitful representation of the actual conflict then UGG?
  18. Next game will sport the same conflist but will be covering the Antietam. Can't direct you to where this was stated by Nick but he said so.
  19. David Fair, both sides are evenly matched now. I'm getting generally proportional casulties on both sides. What goes against your expertise is the number of casulties artillery can inflict.
  20. GGR, I do,'t get the same feeling. If as Union before I was able to slaughter the AI it's more of a draw now... CSA defenitely does not underperform.
  21. I agree with you GGR. It's probably not WAD. Also I wouldn't like it to play out that way for me.
  22. Better get your men ready to my canister shots...
