'Wasa' 1628 Swedish Warship, (With Plans)
Olof Cederström replied to Ned Loe's topic in Ships of the line
After I visited the Vasa museum last week I've changed my mind. It was clearly not designed and built properly as you stated, so I take back what I said earlier. Anyway, a tips to the devs, it'd might fit in NA for a aprils fools some year... -
'Konung Karl' Swedish 1st Rate, 108 Guns (1694)
Olof Cederström replied to Terminus's topic in Ships of the line
Yea, I saw that. I should've said the first three decker blueprint that was built, and not only proposed -
'Konung Karl' Swedish 1st Rate, 108 Guns (1694)
Olof Cederström replied to Terminus's topic in Ships of the line
You really deserve a medal for this find, Ponk! This is the only swedish three-decker blueprint that I've seen on the internet so far, and I've made a lot of research! Thank you! -
Player ship selection 1st half 2016 - Final Poll
Olof Cederström replied to Barberouge's topic in Shipyard
Well, I'm going to lay my vote on Wasa and cross my fingers... "Du skall svara mig inför Gud, om du stryker flagg!" ("You shall answer me before God, if you surrender!") Captain Horn af Rantzien, final words to Lieutenant Lagerstråle onboard HMS Wasa, during the battle of Hogland. -
Player ship selection 1st half 2016 - Final Poll
Olof Cederström replied to Barberouge's topic in Shipyard
Haha, will Diana win the second place with 0,68 % more votes than Venus (and Wasa)? A really close call if you ask me. -
Letter of Marque issued by Swedish King to DRUNK
Olof Cederström replied to Nordtman's topic in National news
Hm... "Carl XIII" with Carl XII's signature? Something isn't right here... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_XII_of_Sweden -
Well, since we haven't found any blueprint of her yet, it is almost impossible to make a proper 3D model of her. And by the way, regarding the name, her original name is actually "Stora Cronan". Which I think would be the correct name for her if she ever gets added into the game.

Flags, Ensigns, Banners
Olof Cederström replied to admin's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Yes, that's correct Malachi. In game right now, the swedish flag is really the swedish civil flag with our police emblem on, which I think is really weird... The correct naval flag would be the one that Norbi shows up there, "örlogsflaggan". I hope the devs fix this soon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_flags_of_Sweden EDIT: The flags seems to be right now. Ignore my reply -
'Friheten' Swedish 4th rate 1728 60 guns (With Plans)

Yea, the sources are really pointing towards Friheten. -
'Friheten' Swedish 4th rate 1728 60 guns (With Plans)
Olof Cederström replied to Ned Loe's topic in Ships of the line
It's swedish indeed. A rough translation of the text in the bottom right is: "...The amirality has ordered 14 June 1728, to make a blueprint of a man-of-war with 60 cannons, after the dimensions of the ship(?) A.Brehmen ....150 foot long, 39 foot wide...Karlscrona (Karlskrona) 25 June 1728." I'm going to make some more research but I'm not sure if this ship was ever made though. I don't recognize any name. -
Worst, most FAILED, Historic Battle in this era
Olof Cederström replied to Ligatorswe's topic in Tavern
HMS Kronan also carried 3-36 pounds bronze cannons. But something I found funny is that they could only fire the largest pieces 6-8 times an hour because of the heat in the bronze. They had to use water to cool them down. -
Player ship selection 1st half 2016 - Final Poll
Olof Cederström replied to Barberouge's topic in Shipyard
Yes, and it's not entirely impossible for someone to make a second account to lay a vote more on the prefered ship... So, it'd be very unfair in my opinion if one ship won over another with just a few votes. But I guess rules are rules. -
Swedish frigates Bellona and Hekate
Olof Cederström replied to Malachi's topic in Frigates and similar ships
Yeah, right. As you probably know, this would be the correct naval flag for Sweden: (Mid 1600-1815) Very good job anyway with the ship Malachi! -
Swedish frigates Bellona and Hekate
Olof Cederström replied to Malachi's topic in Frigates and similar ships
Ah, right. It'd be a shame if it doesn't get added then. -

Olof Cederström replied to Malachi's topic in Frigates and similar ships
Wow! Really great job man! I only got a litte question, are you a dev or are you just building for fun? You don't have the staff title here on the forum so I just don't really understand. -
'Adolph Friedrich' Swedish East - Indiaman 1763 (With Plans)
Olof Cederström replied to Ned Loe's topic in Trading vessels
So it says (translated to english): "The frigate ship Adolph Friedrich was built in Stockholm and launched 17??. The ship made a travel to the mediterranean sea and was sold at its return to the swedish east india company. It made three travels for the same company to the east india. Then the ship, after it got transported to Stockholm from Gothenburgh sold to Stockholm again. In february year 1756 it got in the hands of captain Carl Baltzar Wen?t in Stockholm. -
Naval action on ps4
Olof Cederström replied to Amendus's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
But what do you mean with "the poor performance of next gen consoles"? It is true that the pc will always win over consoles because of the new releases of graphic cards etc each year, but I don't think there has been any game released this far to truly test what the ps4 can handle. -
Naval action on ps4
Olof Cederström replied to Amendus's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I don't agree. I think Naval Action would be very great on ps4. Did you know that the ps4 is about 10 times more powerful than the ps3? Ac Black flag really looks beautiful on ps4 and it wasn't even created for the ps4 in the first place. And more people can afford a ps4 than a expensive computer anyway to play Naval Action. -
For Sweden I nominate... HMS Wasa (1778) Designed by Fredrik Henrik af Chapman. Chapman's idea was a ship which despite its small size could deliver much firepower. A smaller ship has the advantages that it's shallow draft can navigate with more freedom and that the reduction of water resistance gives it higher maneuverability and speed. The low height also reduces the drift which helps the vessel to keep in formation and is a smaller target for the enemy bombardment. The result was HMS Wasa. Chapman made it very stiff, so with full sail set it didn't tilt more then ten degrees during 6-7 meters per second. Type: Fourth rate ship of the line. Armament: 60 cannons. 26 24-punders, 26 18-pounders, 8 6-pounders. Length: 48 m. Breadth: 13,5 m. Draught: 5,5 m. More pictures... Cross section: More blueprints: Sister ship HMS Kronprins Gustaf Adolf: More info can be found here.

bagpipe music in boarding???
Olof Cederström replied to Funny_Bunny's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
It was pretty usual for the navy to transport the army, so I guess they often played music when boarding. Even though I find no source of it. But yea, I agree with you. Perhaps it would be a little to unrealistic with bagpipes.
