  1. Yes, they've had matching weather for some time now (though I can't answer regarding consistency). In the beginning, no matter what the open world was doing, you got a calm and bright sunny day in the battle. When we talk about storm maps though, we're primarily referring to the waves. The waves on the old maps were large enough to have a noticeable effect on the pitch and roll of the ship. Not all storm maps even had rain; some even had only patchy cloud cover. Storms these days sometimes have somewhat exaggerated waves, enough that shooting over them is a bit more challenging, but they won't rock a 3rd rate or make you have to worry about your opponent moving on the z axis while you try to aim.
  2. To be fair, the only part that really applies to the term "simulation" is the battle instance. As others have agreed, the wave physics in storms are one of the best demonstrations of that feat. The open world is more game, and less simulation, but it still ensures that storms are rare, and battles in them are rarer still. Let the devs create all of the scenarios. The whole point of a simulation is to give you realistic choices. It's our jobs to choose if we want to risk fighting in a storm. Btw, lol, have you tried hitting anything in a storm instance? You make it sound like the game makes it easy. I assure you, it's no WoWs.
  3. ################################################################################# ################################################################################# I'm a little tired of people complaining about the grind required to reach high ranks. If you have to be in a santissima to have fun, there's something wrong, but it's NOT that it takes too much work to get in a santissima. Do you have any idea how long it takes to reach tier 10 in world of tanks/warships? It's months of grinding in battles back-to-back. How do you have fun in such a scenario? You stop trying to grind, and just play it. It takes a lot more experience to become a good player than you think. The long wait is to ensure that the people in high level ships are actually good enough players. In World of Warships, everybody is still torpedoing each other at rank 5-6, because it's such a fast trek to those tiers. The higher level matches are fun, because the people at those ranks are all good enough to be a challenge.
  4. Yes, so certainly they would need to be tied to OW conditions, and they already have that for rain. The tricky part is the timing. Rain can follow the same time scale as OW, since a rainstorm that lasts 10 minutes doesn't seem entirely out of the ordinary. If you have large waves, you can't really transition into and out of those conditions in the same time frame. I'd be perfectly happy with no a permanent solution to that at first. Just have the battle start in whatever conditions there are on the map for now. With regard to people rage quitting; I don't see that as being an issue. 1) In sea trials you couldn't lose your ship by exiting, now in OW you lose a durability. 2) You can just sail away in the battle and escape if you don't like fighting in storms. It's significantly easier to do this in a storm than on flat seas, because it's harder for pursuers to see you, much less keep you tagged with chasers (cannonballs are nearly impossible to see).
  5. Personally, I've never had more fun in battles than the ones that took place on storm maps. They disappeared in the transition from sea trial battle mechanics to the open world and the new damage model. It's unclear to me if it was simply a software porting issue, or if there were complaints about gameplay difficulty. Either way, I'd love to see them back in the game.
  6. recorded a collision bug. was run over by a brig in a cutter, but instead of me going down, he went up :/
