  1. I liked the idea of pirates only being able to raid a port and not hold it. Not sure how that could work out but an intersring alternative to pirate being just another nation. A downside would be collusion and port farming for resources. How about underdog mechanic based on population. Give incentives like Xp, gold bonus, and labor bonus. I would be more in favor of just gold and labor bonus since xp is tagged to steam account. Gold is straight forward. This should aid in aquiring resources. Labor bonus could be increased regen rate or higher cap. I think an incentive based solution for balancing out rvr populatons is the best way. Not everyone wants to be part of the zerg. If there is a higher reward for being part of an underdog nation it should help off set the lack of ports.

  3. I would gladly give up some immersion for a single server. I'm sure I'm an outlier when it come to that... Not sure what is possible on a single server. I do know that given current map size(travel time) the max pop is too low. Maybe that is what a dev ment by hoping after 6 months I had moved on to another game. Why have a paid customer taking up space vs one that has yet to pay?
  4. Call it what you like but EA'S are the new betas. Port timers will always be an issue. How long was WoT in "beta" till it went gold... Past experience has proven that the more you fracture the base only to consolidate the more players you bleed off. This point isn't about just now but the future too. If single server or 2 server (PvP & PvE) isn't a goal from the start the game will follow the same path as POTBS among others. Just wait till the economy is 100% player based. How do you balance low pop and high pop production w/o each server having it's own code for production.
  5. I'm sure they are and that's not the point I'm making. I've been playing before EA and the game needs a larger pop even more than the current 2400? Cap that is in place now. I think you misunderstood my statement. I didnt say the game sucks but the servers are not healthy. More population is needed well beyond the current maximums. I remember the ques and is why I stated increased population cap. This is an issue I brought up a few times prior to EA. My experience is the same in all games. Your highest pop is when you first open the game up. After that it drops and starts to stabilize around 6 months. Just because it's called EA doesn't change anything. Games like this go static when they die. They need constant change/development to keep new people coming in and for retention. Just like POTBS this game appeals to small market of players. Its never going to have a large following. Open world PvP games need population to thrive. Ever wonder why EVE is just a single server? It's assinine to start off splitting your player base from the start.

  7. I warned the devs about multiple servers prior to EA. The problem is population retention. My response from the devs was they seemed more interested in attraction than retention. Makes sense with a game that only generates revenue on purchase. Given the multitude of nations and map size they should of invested in server size. I would consent to 1 PvP and PvE servers given the sandbox nature of the game. If we are this point now in population the six month mark looks dismal. They should merge the servers now and work on capacity. Worry about adding servers when you get closer to launch.

  9. Pell doesn't have time for this game. Something about being a responsible family man... There are always options. You should know we tend to not stay one nation. Although we were Spain for more maps than any. Not angry either. Very happy to play a game that is what potbs should of been. Was just getting the feeling that some sort of ROE was being forced on us. Don't hunt here and go over there generally doesn't set well when not asked for.
  10. We go wherever. So far it's been OMG, BORK, and some other French society. I'm fairly certain they were not newbs learning how to sail since they outclassed us on the ship's. Oh there was a 1v1 I did and we both had snows. He was a newb and tried to flip me and rammed me 5 times. That frenchie went glubglub. The one BORK guy I was just playing around with in my snow vs his belle. We really have no I intention hitting Swedish players atm. But thanks for the protip. We will sail wherever and attack whomever we want. You don't get to dictate who we play nice with. Seals do make the nicest coats.
  11. Can't speak for WIS but DCA doesn't care about RvR and are just looking for PvP. It is funny how everyone freaks out about seeing down there.
  12. There is no guise when you see DCA. We are there to sink you if we can. We did not sail all the way down there to see if you wanted to play tittleewinks.
  13. Allowing people to switch nations as the devs have stated will not result in only two superpowers. Brits and rats will always be high pop due to their inheant popularity. It will allow lower pop nation to gather more players. Not everyone likes to play PvP on easy mode by being part of the zerg. Being part of a low pop nation presents more targets. Spying will always be present. There isn't much to do about it that isn't already done. Nothing prevents collusion and the logical thing to do is keep targets out of chat. Nothing prevents people from having multiple steam accounts and there are only like 8 nations. Best to learn how to deal with spying then trying to make someone else take care of it for you.
  14. I would like to see.... Reload times under ship stats (helpful for determining upgrade loadouts with cannons to figure out dpm) Degrees on the compass(I know its been mentioned just wanted to add my support for it)
