  5. In brtian we have HMS Victory whcih is beening repired and we are slowy but shouerly getting it done and plus it is still in active servise as Flagship of the First Sea Lord. But after the battle of Battle of Trafalgar (1805) she was badly damaged in the battle and was not able to move under her own sail. On 7 November 1812, when she was moored in Portsmouth Harbour and used as a depot ship. This was not untill the 1889's, when Victory was fitted up as a Naval School of Telegraphy. Then In 1903, HMS Neptune was being towed to the breakers yard when she broke free and ploughed into Victory, holing her below the waterline. Emergency repairs were carried out to stop her sinking, but it was only the personal intervention of Edward VII that prevented Victory from being scrapped. By 1921, she was in a very poor state, and the Save the Victory campaign was started. On 12 January 1922, she was moved into No. 2 dock at Portsmouth. Her condition having deteriorated to the extent that she could no longer safely remain afloat. The decision to restore Victory to her Battle of Trafalgar configuration was taken in 1920, but the need to undertake important repairs meant this was not achieved until 2005. The restoration is worth £16 million. We in the end did get it done but as you can see we took a long time to get it done.
  6. Yes but she was renamed the HMS surprise by the RN for the film.
  7. HMS Surprise has had a long life and i would be happy to see her return to a state in which that you could sail on bord her again and see what life was back then to life on a ship of the sail. Also i loved watching the film that she was in ( Master and Commander far side of the world ).

  13. I like the pic that has the sckechs in better then the table.
  14. i like this idea and hope that it can be done in the furture in the game as it would add a new level of gameplay to change to.
  15. i have had a look at the plans for the HMS Surprise and saw that she had 32 pounders carronades on the forecastle and on the quarterdeck she had 6 pounders and on the main gundeck she had 9 pounders long guns i think that this was what was ment to be on the ship but they changed it for 26x 12-pounder long guns, 6x 6-pounder long guns (quarterdeck and forecastle), 4x 24-pounder carronades (forecastle). hope people can clear this up for me plesae.
  16. I support this idea and think that it would be great to see if you could choose the colors of your ship, guns onbord eg. But only use of colour that was available back then.
  17. I like this idea and I fully understand and support this. Although I think that we should be able to paint the ships in the colors that where available in the time period.
