  1. She is a beauty. I haven't been around much, but seeing those screenshots made me feel a bit of temptation to play NA again.
  2. I think this is the wrong board, mate.
  3. If that's legit, 82 guns... blimey. I was not expecting her to have that many. She's going to pack a punch.
  4. Do we know which Rotterdam we're getting? Threedecks.org lists like 21 ships with that name, including quite a few which sound like they'd be about the size I'd expect a "combat Indiaman" to be.
  5. Right, I've updated the thread for the upcoming HMS Leopard, Le Redoubtable, and HMS Implacable (which I've listed as a French ship, because it was originally French). It's always nice to see that more ships are coming.
  6. I wasn't expecting our Temeraire to be flush-decked, myself. But hey, whatever works. It's a cool-looking model.
  7. Ah, just like the 'Pray' feature, then. Will we get chat bans for speculating about what it does?
  8. So far, I guess I've been listing ships by who built them. I'm content to keep it that way, at least for now.
  9. Updated, thanks! Are the Constitution and United States both in the game now? And are we getting a reworked Surprise, then? I haven't kept up with everything that's been announced. Also, whatever happened to the Santa Cecilia?
  10. A massive advertisement of NA might help, but that won't be enough, if people buy the game and then quickly stop playing it. We need to figure out what needs to be done to keep people playing.
  11. So much for not having to sail far from a friendly port to find something to fight. As someone who hates spending much time fruitlessly sailing around the open world, waiting for my ship to get from A to B or for an enemy ship to appear, it looks like missions, and maybe the areas around free towns, could be the only reliable options left, unless I get lucky and find a spot were lots of AI frigates tend to hang out... In other words, this sounds like one more reason for me to not play this game, because now I'll be even less likely to find something to fight than before.
  12. Oh wow, that's amazing. I'm so looking forward to seeing that ship ingame.
  13. Being able to attack merchant convoys (trader + escort traders, and perhaps a frigate or two to guard them) would be cool, for sure.
  14. If you're saying the devs should take ships already available for free ingame and then sell them as DLC for real money... no.
  15. Yeah, she'll be interesting to see. The Danish Christian VII, too.
  16. The Shipyard is the place for discussing individual ships in detail: Come on down, it could use some discussion to liven the place up a bit.
  17. Wait, is this a new ship in development?
  18. Just logged in to claim the Diana (first time I've logged in in a couple of months, I'm guessing) and man, the new open world UI and map look beautiful. Good job, devs.
  19. I doubt they'll stop adding new ships once the game releases. In fact, didn't they say a while ago that they weren't sure about adding any new ships before release?
  20. Good to know it's not just me that has trouble with them. They seem to be a pain in the neck. Great images, though. And great posts. I've been reading a few of your posts in this thread; they're very well made.
  21. I believe you mean AI (as in Artificial Intelligence), not IA.
  22. I haven't played NA regularly in a long time, but when I played for France, it was boring. Very little PvP, hardly anyone in chat spoke English... I eventually joined an English-speaking clan, but was then introduced to the player-made diplomacy between nations that was going on at the time. The guys on Teamspeak talked about spending hours setting up alliances with other nations' clans. Suddenly, just as I was progressing far enough into the game to be looking for fights with other players, I now had to follow these alliances. Instead of being able to attack anyone who wasn't French, I wasn't supposed to attack players from nations who we were allied with. One week we'd be allied with the Dutch and fighting the Swedes and the Brits, the next week we'd be allied with the Swedes against the Dutch. A war would get started, we'd win or lose a few ports (not that I ever fought in the PBs), and then suddenly I'd log in and hear that it was over and we weren't to attack those guys, and that instead we were fighting a nation halfway across the map from where we were. As if it wasn't hard enough to find PvP, if the nations nearest us were off limits, that made it seem so much worse. It was like people were desperate to find reasons not to fight. And then almost the whole clan went inactive, so I was back to not being able to understand anyone in chat. I was so frustrated after that that I haven't had much enthusiasm for the game ever since.
