  2. There is nothing that requires the demands of player base to be met by Clan AI. It could even go as low a 1 tar per day.
  3. Admin doesn't do anything with this section and the mods usually stay out of it as long as possible. Pinned news is only pinned news for so long. As treaties come and go, so should the pins. We could use http://forum.game-labs.net/clubs/22-congress-of-vienna/ and manage our own pinning and moderation without bothering either devs or mods.

  6. Cartagena will be "gifted" tar continuously, the actual amount is up to Clan AI. Either buy or conquer are your choices. So now you are forewarned, make good on that knowledge.

What's with this Skully?" "Ehr... yes, slight change of plans. MARS ran away before we got there. So we are now in fact attacking Bimini." "Whut!? That wasn't the plan." And the Horde scattered in search of other trinkets... Can MARS please stick up in a place somewhere so I can keep the Horde's attention on it long enough? Thanks.
  8. Aussies don't need the defender side to be limited to 15, they just need more time to deal with all the enemy ships. I keep trying to explain to Aussies how RvR works. "Good day chaps, you are going to need 25 ships to take over Islamorada." "Was the c*nt talking about!? We only need 13 to give'em a good spanking." "Well gentlemen, you want to capture the port right?" "Yeah, let's go!!!!" (ruffle stomping & unfurling of sails follows) "Hello? Hello? Anybody?" Ah crap....
  9. Nope. The prices are limited by supply. Clan AI provides infinite supply through EU traders at 4x base price in production ports. So this is the upper limit for resource prices (at production ports). The only prices that go up "infinitely" are rare resources for which the supply is controlled by Clan AI. (If a player could influence that supply of resources, then it would be a bug.) There is nothing wrong with a low supply of rare resources, but those resources will then go to the richest players. On the other side of the coin, there is no demand for gold. Everybody has plenty, so prices are free to go up. Going into the example of Cartagena Tar, there are two factors which will limit the price: Clan AI needs to produce a small quantity at steady price, regardless of player offers. (Highest bid gets it.) You can't sail what you can't afford to lose. At some point the price of the upgrade becomes so high, that it won't be economically viable to undock such a ship for any battle. (Grinding the gold back still takes too much time.) In short, from the price perspective we have reached the limit of the market.
  10. Hostility isn't counted versus mission success, but counted with (predominantly AI) kills. Counter hostility mission is currently bugged, so it was disabled. Even if it were enabled, then it would bring the "wrong" side into battle. Actually that will always be a bug.

  14. The AI is fully predictable in its behavior, hence having any on either friendly or enemy team forms a hazard and imbalance. You can for example kite them into sailing around the capture circle. Or push them outside of the battle circle. I think it is best to remove AI completely from any PvP scenarios. AI is best left for PvE scenarios.
  15. I would classify this as "How not to RvR". I keep trying to explain to the Aussies that RvR is more than just undocking from port, getting into a good brawl, shooting the f*wits out of one-another and calling it a job well done... There should be something in between us to fight over!
  16. I don't mind one bit. Our Clan is operating perfectly fine. I just thought we needed to be mindful of the casuals more.

  18. It would only take making the Pirates Clan based as opposed to Nation based. Any Pirate Clan can pretend to be any nation. But then the combat engine needs to become multi-sided, so everyone can fight whoever they really want to fight.
  19. (Beep, beep, beep, deeee, roll funky intro with lost of flashing dollar signs.) The futures on Cartagena Tar are stabilizing. The ever going price increase is expected to stop soon. This might even be followed by a small drop (in prize). Captains should keep in consideration to not sail what they can't afford to lose and a 1M upgrade is something you should not be put to risk too eagerly.
