  1. no, it's a reunion of Edmure Tully and Mance Rayder. (GOT was a reunion of Julius Caesar and Brutus)
  2. I think that crew should linked to XP and not to rank so as you go between Post Captain to Flag you would get a few more crew with every ship you sink. It would make it reasonable to use several ships as you progress between Post and Flag.
  3. The dangers of a lee shore. Read any naval themed/historical book you will find sailors were terrified of a lee shore. I remember reading about the dangers of a lee shore in both "Moby Dick" and several instances in the Patrick O'brian books.
  4. No, you play against other players. so at least two players (multi players).
  5. Sure you can enjoy them....if you enjoy getting sunk. 1. the game is intended to be a multiplayer game. 2. EPIC is just that epic hard. 3. was this REALLY a serious comment? "I Wants to play multiplayer games alone."
  6. On ours, first pass through the enemy 9, we sank two (first and last ship in the line). Pulled the group with the wind as our first and last ships were in bad shape. We focused fired each ship as they got close to us and protected the weak until they repaired. took about an hour and we used a lot of repairs. Why was it only you and your buddy against one ship? Where were the other players? As you learned, it takes more than two ships to sink one of the super AI.
  7. umm... no. They are tough for a reason. The last Epic I was in was done with only 5 ships. It was a challenge but that why it was fun. You can repair, the AI cannot. Kite them out and keep up on repairs and work as a team to focus down each ship. We all made it out with over 50% health. Its called EPIC for a reason.
  8. Being "annoying" is not against the rules and it is definitely not something that belongs in Tribunal.
  9. One question..... Why is this in Tribunal? The alt thing has been answered at least a dozen times. Ever think he may be fishing? So what if he was not helping you fight and so what if he was spying.... Spoiler alert: What he was doing is ALLOWED.
  10. Gee George.... Was that your (or your alts) review? It seems to me that you're trying to justify every single claim the "reviewer" makes.....all of which are rubbish. "what can be done to prevent this"? Post accurate reviews. The LAST thing that should be done is redesign the game in a attempt to make a review troll happy.
  11. I Think the numbers should be based on the number of 1st or 4th rates ships allowed into port battle should be 10/15/20. So either you can bring in 15 first rates or a mix of ships up to 25. However I think the biggest problem is how BR is set up. Currently it would make no sense to bring anything but 1st rates. I think BR should be adjusted so that we come up with a ratio that would be a fair fight. Or have a "Port Battle Value" system. As a very rough outline.... 1 first rate = 1 Second Rate AND 1 fourth rate = 2 third rates = 4 fourth rates=8 fifth rates. So in BR terms: 1st Rate = 1000 2nd Rate = 750 3rd Rate = 500 4th Rate = 250 5th Rate = 125 Then limit "First Rate Port battles" to 10k/15K/20K and "fourth rate port battles" to 2500/3750/5000.
  12. After a PB you can enter the port as soon as everyone leaves the PB. If some knucklehead doesn't leave the PB you can't get into the contested port because the PB instance hasn't ended. If you're playing with/against jerks that game the system so their buddies can gank you, I guess you got to wait.
  13. I've been a advocate for mixed port battle fleets for a long time... it just seems so silly that we have a fleet of "Vics" or "Santis'" fighting each other. That being said, I think the next challenge will be to to find a point where a fleet of 10 first rates are a fair match to a fleet of 25. I think that a lot of BR adjustments will need to be made to find the sweet spot where 10 first rates have a equal chance of beating a larger fleet. So the question becomes... what fleet of 25 would be a fair fight to 10 first rates? Do we only look at broadside weight? That may be a good place to start, but other factors need to be considered as well. Firepower, maneuverability, ability to take damage are all factors.
  14. I would hope that we can find a balance that a well coordinated fleet of 15 first rates would have a fair fighting chance against a fleet of 25 mixed ship fleet. I think this would help smaller nations that can't get 25 players on.....but they can get 15. So they choose the 15 ships that give them 15 K (15 first rates).... maybe some nights they can bring 20 players, so they choose 10 first rates and 4 third rates and 6 fourth rates.
  15. I guess I should expand what ratio I'm thinking, I wasn't excluding any ship types just didn't list them. A first Rate would be equal to: 1000 points 1 second rate and 1 fourth rate (750 + 250)= 1000 points 2 third rates (2X500)= 1000 points 4 fourth rates (4X250)= 1000 points 8 fifth rates (8X125)= 1000 points not sure what the unrated ships would count as....maybe 100? So if the current "Lineship battles" IMO should be limited to 10,000 to 15,000. So if the limit is 15K you could bring in: 15 first rates or a fleet of 25 (5 Firsts(5K) + 6 second (4.5K)+4 thirds (2K)+10 fourths (2.5K) or any other other combination that totals under 15K
  16. The role of a frigate was not to be part of the line of battle (until the super frigates came along), and normally they wouldn't fire on ships of the line. BUT: If your first rates are using broadsides against small ships, they are not using them against the large ships that would be closer and can actually cause damage. My point is: this would really mix thing up and make for a million different scenarios instead of what we have now.
  17. I'll tell you what the thrill would be... Nobody would bring 10 first rates. because they would likely be swarmed and outnumbered. It would no longer make sense to just come in a single class of ship. Then instead of being a battle of who had the best fleet of first rates, it becomes more how you use tactics. Even using your deduction that everyone would bring the same fleet (I think you are wrong), you now have a mix of ships. Some faster, some slower. "Drop your 4th rates at A, send all other ships to another circle.Enemy does the same.Send all 4th rates as reinforcement to your main group, enemy does the same." I counter with sending a 4th rate and two 5th rates upwind around B to attack "A", I leave two firsts in "C" and attack with the rest of the fleet of thirds seconds and a first. the remaining 4ths snipe sails from upwind. You need to counter my fast ships attacking your "A" point. It mixes things up. Maybe I have a fast third rate going after A. Maybe I send a bunch sixth rates....you won't know until the battle starts. Right now there is a single acceptable fleet to defend.... 25 first rates. There is two maybe three acceptable attacking fleets 23-25 first rates and 1-2 mortar brigs.
  18. yup, that's exactly what I think should happen. I'd love to see a 10 1st rates vs 20 3rd rates or (5 X1st rates, 5 X 2nd Rates X 5 4th Rates). The whole 25 1st rates vs 25 first rates is boring and has NEVER happened in history. I don't know what ratio they need to come up with balancing BR. I'm thinking something like 1st rate = 2 third Rates=4 fifth rates. I think we need find a ratio where most experienced captains would be unsure who had the advantage. So, if you were in a group with 4 fifth rates, would you feel that attacking 2 third rates is a equal fight? Or in a group with 2 third rates would you attack a single 1st rate?
  19. I understand what you are saying however, the clan has no control over what the other side brings. 25 1st rates will beat any fleet made up of a mix of ships. So, a clan that would like to use a mixed ship fleet is forced to also show up in a matching fleet. If you try using BR to set port battles, I think a "lineship" port battle's BR should the BR value of 10-15 first rates. So to fill the full 25 ships, other ships would need to be used.
  20. I think all the early ship models don't compare to well to the newer ships coming in the game. I hope they all the older ships will get a update before the game is released.
  21. betting this is the problem... Had the same thing happen on a alt. Built the building, but wasn't able to harvest due to crafting level.
