  1. All is fair in love and war. We French excel at both.
  2. That explains your message to me...
  3. Aren't you OMG? You guys were French once on PotBS. You can do it again.
  4. Ya, i scouted CdR. It's a haven for PvErs playing econ, fleet grinding, and mission running (and knuckleheads who think they could gang up on a little privateer in fat boats with carronades). Enjoy your delusions.
  5. Well, honestly the real french girls are still in France. "The little Corporal" is doing so well that the Antilles isnt that big of a deal. So, us French captains are doing our part, sinking as much as we can, and rotate home after a few Pedernales defenses were we are greated as heros standing up to the foul mouth breathing pirates. Ahh, Paris. Much better there than these diseased islands. Such is the life of a French captain. Enjoy your PvE and insulting your teammates. Gaining some more respect for them. Just a little.
  6. A training you could have learned in the Bahamas. Come on down Brucy. We'll sure to post the results of each Pedernales defense. Vive la resistance!
  7. He's at Pedernales. We look forward to add your ship to our "pirate sandbar". That's the kind of wall the French are building.
  8. He's standing up against a zerg nation. The corpses of pirates on PVP2 are piling up at Pedernales. Brucy and crew just like PvE and PvT.
  9. Disagree. If are referring to Pedernales attacks, France has been losing deep water ports at the same time. Shallow water should be easier to defend. Lack of heavy naval bombardment and fixed cannons on land should make it very hard to take by force. Game mechanic-wise shallow ports give under powered and populated nations a fighting chance. You destroy that and you destroy the game. Then it'll be a zergling game.
  10. The map in general is inconsequential. With resets, no map win conditions, and high vs low population issues bragging about "winning the game" is hilarious. The game is gonna change, its alpha. Having fun, fixing bugs, and providing feedback is what its all about. Speaking of which, does the bounty you guys posted on Reddit on Slamz carry over after reset? Has it gone up any? You guys are hilarious.
  11. And this was our goal all along. It seems we've won.
  12. And we enjoyed capping a Connie last night and sinking some of the FC crew (good fighting boys). I haven't PvEd in weeks and love it. To each there own.
  13. The issue isnt its right or wrong, just a different tactic. You guys ran from your capital to build up in safety then teleport ships for pvp. The whole "PvE to level to max to PvP" thing. Thats not "wrong" but don't except France to give you PvP which goes back to your Pickle comment. We are just picking our fights where we can.
  14. Some pickles are larger than others. But seriously, you guys are 10x France. If you want a pitched battle with 3rd rates with France, you'll be waiting a long, long time. Slamz told you guys that from the beginning. You've carved out a nice little hidey hole to build up your forces but you've killed your PvP opportunities. Meanwhile we pick and choose battles we have a chance at winning. That isn't attacking deepwater ports up north or fighting 50+ who all out rank and ship our 12. Heck, you guys even scared the british away (good job btw). If you come patrolling south, you'll probably be bored because we'll just wait until your gone to come back. Pirate warfare.
  15. Ya, some of the timeline is off. From a French Purge perspective: Joint operations informed us to attack a southern port to draw as many pirates from the north as possible. There were some doubts as we knew the Rats were divided by territory but figured we'd draw off screeners at least. Attack on Guadaylalalala was chosen at 9pm est. Long guns chosen for testing and to just plink at range. While an equalish number of players were there the pirates had much more gun weight. Aves attack started roughly 15 minutes after. After plinking at range for 30 minutes French turned in to brawl but the superior gun weight proved devestating (and we were still getting mauled by towers). Frenches losses were heavy but most of the ships were Cerbs. With Aves ongoing, phase two was started. French sailed north to rendezvous near Plymouth. The Aves fight had concluded minutes earlier and French scouts detected Pirate forces arriving back at Deseries. Once the three nations of the English, French and Dutch were ready Slamz bought another Aves flag. Knowing how much brotherly loves the pirates have, we knew they'd come back. All three national fleets engaged pirates at will around the island of Aves. Lots of fights and lots of fun. Personally i was in the above fight and in another scrum were Purges Cerbs and Surprises attempted to kill a pirate third rate but reinforcements arrived and the close tag proved deadly sinking a few of us. Fun times and Vive la France!
  16. Wrong. Purge joins Neutrals during your missions. We protect those helpless guys. There is absolutely NO intentional green on green actions from missions. Its impossible Get facts straight first before complaining. Then when we join your attacks against traders on your side we sink them to prevent you from getting the ill gotten loot. This is not a direct attack on you but your team.
  17. The more time you waste with us, the stronger the US and Brits get. Congrats you'll eventually get that "safe" spot in the corner. By the time you get your shipbuilding and econ stable you'll be alone with the stronger nations having even longer time in thier safe areas. PURGE ain't leaving so even though you outnumber us. You'll always have to deal with us. Good luck with your hidey hole strategy. You better hope the Brits don't setup shop soon. We can pretend it's the invasion of France in WW2. Eventually the devs will reset the map, because you know this is alpha, and you guys can come practice your braving running away from your capital again.
  18. You mean fights were the odds are massively in your favor right? Heck, I got jumped solo by 3 FC only for them to run away after I called reinforcements (thanks for the xp and gold btw). That's really how you killed Slamz in that earlier post by ganging up. Well, we don't care nor are we angry. Most of us are long time PvPers and we love the underdog, skirmishing actions. So have fun running missions, trading in your little hidey hole we'll keep you guys and your fellow pirates company until the Brits and US arrive.
  19. A little thing that might be neat is instead of the "Crossed swords" battle marker on OW there could be a little image of two ships firing at each other. The firing could be sort of like a flashing light then perhaps a sound of cannons attached to the image marker. This could give a visual and audio queue for players on OW and be immersion enhancing. It would also add to the feel during a rain storm hearing cannons in the distance but not seeing them.
