  1. For even fuller 'historicity' :)

    • Trincomalee => UK, France (which had the ships the Leda class was based on)
    • Victory => UK, Russia (they built a handful of them)
    • Diana => Spain
    • Surprise => France
    • Santa Cecilia => UK
    • Rattlesnake => US
    • Leopard => UK
    • Hercules => neutral 😛
    • Hermione => France
    • Pandora => UK
    • *Brig => US
    • *Snow => UK
    • *Lynx => US
    • Endymion => UK, France (Pomone)
    • Rattvisan => SE
    • Redoutable => FR, UK (they built a few of them)

  2. I agree on the leak problem and usability issues of the Victory, a fine ship that is useless in the current meta. Victory (and Pavel) need help.

    Nitpick:

    • Victory and Santisima were in battles on opposing side lots of times but never in a duel.
    • Victory never dueled an Ocean class ship.
    • By being on the winning side a ton of 74 gun ships 'survived or even defeated' the large first rates too, does that automatically make them superior? - it's not a good argument

    I could ofc be wrong on this and would be happy to see if there actually ever was a duel Vic vs X :)

    first : go and see and read for yourself

    the ball is as light of a feather when it hits your hull and feathers don't do harm...

    second you are in denial.

    HMS Victory: 100+ tonnes of ammo. How many times does a 32 pound, a 24 pound and a 12 pound ball fit?

    not true..

    after a day s fight every ship needed to be  replenished with new ammo and food and crew, gunpowder ,sail.(mostly done by waiting ships at a given point)

    what also included ammo.

    [..]One of the most unrealistic aspects of NA is the possession of balls > who are unlimited

    [..]similar complaint were found randomly on the internet of being one of the complaints at video games in general

    but NA posses some of these mechanics too , for example  : the ammunition complain keengamer  TOP 20 UNREALISTIC VIDEO GAME MECHANICS.

    [..]

    ?? source pls

    I'm sorry but I think you need to take a look at reality before shitting on a game in caps.

    SoL carried plenty of round shot, in British service at least 50 per gun off the top of my head plus extra bar, grape and chain and the required gunpowder. Spare sail cloth and rigging was also carried. If a SoL was unable to get jury rigs working and limp home on its own power it tended to be towed back home by a friendly Frigate or other SoL.

    Fights in NA are limited to 1:30 - it would be almost impossible for a real life crew to empty the ship's magazine firing their guns. There is plenty of things that are unrealistic about NA .. but this isn't.

  5. Meh Liq :)

    Increasing the size of the clan friendslist enough so that everyone in the nation has access is pretty much equivalent to "everyone has access", in other words no change to now.
    Gating resources via powerful clans is a shit mechanic imho, pissing off solo players who have to beg to get handouts.
    Additionally this might be an invitation to Bully Nation X to come pay a visit to get that stuff
    Economically it wouldn't work anyway: if a resource is rare and sought after your nationals would still be able to (out)bid you and sell on the open market for a profit

  6. Are there any plans to allow cross pollination between NA and SL? Like NA Loki-esque players can fight in SL duels and the other way around?

    Could the full blown ship command features in SL work as a DLC that slides on top of NA?

    The career stuff looks like a much more refined version of the NA PvE server. Finding a way to combine the two player bases would make a lot of sense imho, multiplier effect rather than fragmenting players pools.

  7. Elite Dangerous style insurance where you can get all mods, engineering rolls etc back would be very nice.

    Getting your ship back in some sort of broken state which needs a generous amount of cash to get the ship repaired would be nice.

    My guess is the devs are unlikely going to do this, however, because ship loss is one of the few money sinks in the game economy and there might be the perception that less grind = less players in the OW = less content.
