Dear Devs,

Im thouroughly enjoying Frigate battles with the new model in comparison to the old model. The survivablity of your ship in conjuction with reduced damage output from smaller Lb longs/mediums makes for great gameplay, In that it requires your opponent to find optimal posistioning in order to achieve maximum penetration value per battery fired. I do also believe that marines do require a "tweak", thier impact in boardings (especially exceptional ) is far to great. Addtionally I find that the "higher the quality the more crew slots the take up" model to be too much of a burden. I believe that the quality of the Marine module should represent a "better" trained Marine contingent rather than a more numerous one. With more stat based benifit rather than manpower benifit. Just my thoughts.

With the Reformation of the USN and Recapture of US East Coast from the Dreaded Pirate Lord Vicious and his motley crew, The United States Naval Command dispatched a small Frigate fleet off of La Habana. As Congress learned of the Spanish betrayal to the Pirate menace, a reforemdemn was passed unanimously to begin Fleet engagements with a Spanish Warships in Northern Caribbean. On the early morning of 28th May 1816 A frigate force sailed from Florida Keys to begin Frigate Warfare on Spanish Cuba. The Fleet of 2 Constitution Class Super Frigates, 1 Trincomalee and 1 Renomee engaged a vastly superior force whilst heading North West along the Northen Cuba Coast passed La Habana.

 

The heavily armed Spanish Fleet of 1 3rd Rate, 1 Bellona, 1 Ingermanland, 1, Surprise, 1 Cerberus and 1 Frigate was engaged with the port of La Habana still insight. The USN engaged with the weathergage and began harassing the larger fleet. Under heavy fire the US ships valiantly fought a withdrawal whist maintaining the engagement, destroying sails and rigging with each broadside. The Spanish quickly began to get seperated, ADM. MacVaulter order the Fleet to split and continue to engage. The Spanish Surprise became caught in an engagement with the USS BANSHEE (Trincomalee) as he tried to stern rake its crew, Captain Saintjacktar quickly order several turns and broadsides using counter sails to bring his gun to bear. The Surprise sucumbed to mass flooding and sunk with all hands, realizing they were out maneuvered and unable to properly engage the faster Frigate Fleet the Spanish fleet disengaged and returned to Port. The Fleet returned to Florida Keys and each ship was awarded The Navy Cross for thier efforts.....

The saddest part of all is that your clan, your faction and the nations that suckle at your teet by extension have hijacked a game that the devs clearly worked so hard to create and as it continues the game hemorages once dedicated players like a foul head wound on a daily basis. I mean im gonna continue to play and do my thing as is my clan but it is only your own content you are hurting, seriously how long do you think the exhiled Gulfies of WBK can hold up this Guerilla war they ve locked into? Im tipping not much longer

P.S - and Ive watched your clans EVE online strategy video and all I can say is

Maybe you should have waited to full release before execute such strategies, you know like maybe when there was a larger more dedicated player base and a game with a stronger foundation

Well, i'm actually fighting 2 nations, and yes, we are not at 1 ports, but we are in a fkin bad situation and ? And nothing, we are playing and making our duty. Life is hard. today, we re hammered by swedish and dutch, it sould be the pirates, the situation should be the same. Like Spain hammered by GB some times ago... Well yes, Pirates are a very strong nations, but NO it's not because they re pirates, it's because they re numerous and strong.

Your ignorance astounds me! Maybe the problem is that they re numerous and the game facilitates them to be so. Allowing all the Nations "run off" to pool up in one area is not good game mechanics. Turning Pirate should come at a cost, i ask you where is that cost or risk ? It doesnt exist. And again the Swedes and the Dutch are nowhere near the size of Pirates last I heard SORRY alone had over 100 active members and now the new turncoat AUSFC is up here as well. (At least they re gentlemen in thier Piracy)

What a proposterous adaptation of the situation, really? pirates would never unite in the same way Mongols did, Pirates were too selfish and each had individual goals. I mean pretty sure Ghenghis had to slaughter a whole bunch of Mongols before ascending to the "Throne" so to speak. The game just provides it to this lot. If the game was set up like Pirates and Vicious and his Motle crew bashed their way to power to bring other Pirates into line then sure. but this didn't happen

Everyone here is banging on the Pirates because they are overwhelming USA and Brits but i didn't see the same morale when the same 2 nations, which were quite large at the time, allied against Spain to reduce it to 1 port.

I personally Love this idea! I have posted some of my ideas on this topic in the "Pirate Mechanics Vote " thread but it was about customizable Pirate Jacks. I belive that customizable ensigns would be awesome, I understand that people would attempt to create obscene things on Ensigns. However I have a couple of ideas to combat this. 1 use the already current reporting system to allow players to report inappropriate ensigns 2. Make it purchasable in ports and they have to be submitted to the "admiralty" (devs and mods) for approval before being able to be flown. A similar thing could be done for ship naming.

As much as I really would like a Pirate faction that has a completely different mechanic to what the Nations have ,because it would be make for a more interesting game, I don't think that would solve the current problem with Pirates SORRY.

SORRY as commanded by Her Royal Highness 'V' now to be referred to as $5 leads a group who have ROLFSTOMPED a large part of the map during this they have been accused of many things including abusing game mechanics this particular accusation I think is a bit rich because a large number of online gamers would do exactly the same thing in the same situation.

During this they have had a great deal of practice and is a problem in it's self.

What happens after a complete wipe and $5 manages to keep the core of experienced players together and say they roll for arguments sake French next time. I don't believe during the ranking up any other group will rank up quicker than SORRY so you will tell me even playing field so this isn't a problem but it is they have something no other group has an experience that can really only be gained from playing PBs.

With the current server population we have I don't see a way any other group can practice and gain the invaluable experience SORRY have to be able to counter them no matter what Nation they play.

If I have missed in my short time looking at the UI a big box labelled 'battle practice room' please point it out, as has been mentioned over the years I am a bit of a Noob.

In relation to proposed mechanics in my ideas on page 16,SORRY's ability to conduct PBs "well" will hold wait only in the sense of raiding for resources and with out 1st rates it would be challenging for them, however im sure given thier coordination and numbers they would be able to acheive this quite comfortably and with minimal loses, i also suspect they would become the true "terrors of the sea". However I beleive if my ideas were implemented they would probably jump ship to a nation so as to continue PBs.

Ok,ok I guess everyone in the server is wrong and you and your buddies are right. The fact that your very active and organized clan beat an entire Nation is not testiment to the fact that the (U)PIRATE(U) "nation" is broken. But honestly its not the fact that you ve destroyed the US that I take issue with most of all, its that PIRATES conquered a nation. I hope they remove the Pirate "nation" ideal and replace it with a better Pirate reflection of actual Pirates. Im certain if they did you and your buddies would just change to a Nation (my monies on Spain) and continue your vendetta, but you know what? I would be fine with that. Because you worked hard for it. Definitely not because your clan has more active members ill wager then all the US clans combined "110 on Jeheils video I believe you said?" (keeping in mind that this video was recorded while you were still in Carlisle, I was in TF at this point and very active within the US at this time) I gather its a bit more now tho! and thats definitely got nothing to do with how easy it is to change to Pirate, nope not one bit. Just hard work and determination.
