That may be true, and a fairly general consensus from what I've seen and heard, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to strategize and plan ahead. How else do EVE players get so good?

Please tell me I'm not the only one that lol'd at this. Last time I played, to be fair, I also considered the sail time to be a bit extreme. It does wear into your time to play, but then again, if you plan ahead and take notes of when player population on the OS is highest (depending on map region, where the playerbase lives rt, etc) it shouldn't be too difficult to get the pvp you want.

John D. Harbron's "Trafalgar and the Spanish Navy" is a good source for information on the Spanish Navy during the period leading up to the Napoleonic War. If you don't have the book, I'd suggest picking it up @Intrepido.

That's a matter of opinion, and you should expand on that in another topic and give solid, expansive reasons as to why you think it's in that order.

Yeah they said that once before and there's still no Dutch ships, so believe it when we see it.

I'm all for having anywhere from 3-5 ships per rate to choose from, if the devs ever allow such a thing to be. Based on what the final result is here, I hope the next poll, if there is one, settles the final gaps in the ship lineups.

If only! I wasn't there when PotBS was in development, but anyone know off the top of their head how many unique ships were modeled for that game? Would be nice if Naval Action matched or surpassed that.

Commendable, but unfortunately the majority have spoken, and, willing to compromise with the masses, I'm backing the Wreker now.

I voted for the Prinses Frederika mainly because of the plan provided: full of detail from stern to bow, as well as the fact that she's a Dutch ship. That being said, and seeing the ships selected for the final poll, it would probably be best that the Princesa Real represent Portugal and either the Vrijheid or the Wreker represent the Dutch. The Montañes I would also like to see, but certainly not this poll, not with the Santissima already ingame as well as the Diana in development. I am of a similar mind. When I saw the initial post for the ship suggestions I had to hold back from a facepalm. I know the staff mean well, but asking for underrepresented nations AND THEN adding "Other great models will also be allowed but we would prefer underrepresented nations. " knowing full well that's going to open the door for nations already moderately or well represented, thus diluting the vote pool, only makes one ask "why bother?". Like I said previously, I'll wait til the final selection before any final commentary, but while I'm glad to see more ships ingame, I'm not appreciative of the lack of a Venetian finalist, nor the presence of other nations, particularly France or Spain.

Time to vote for real y'all. Let's get the Dutch and/or Portuguese some representation!

Agreed. I didn't want to say it but as the saying goes "go big or go home". I'm waiting to see what the final selections (staff selections included) are before making any final commentary.

What are the final results then? We cannot see the poll.

The forum population from what I've seen over the years across different games is reflective of only a small portion of the actual ingame population, but I'm sure that's not news to most of us. That being said, unless there's a bunch of alts running around ingame, the numbers are curiously even.

I'm sure the population's not what it was in 2016 either.
