  1. My personal suspicion is that we are pretending this is alternate history, so they won't happen as per history. It might be a RTW type thing where governments might change if they lose wars but if they avoid or win wars, they'll stay the same.

Rather than using names for Hull like "Modern Battleship II" it would be better to just use the names of the hulls that they are representing, like that: Queen Elizabeth Hull I , Queen Elizabeth Hull II , Yamato Hull I , South Dakota Hull I etc. You already did that with N3/G3 Hull so why not do this with every hull in the game? In case there are in the game some generic hulls, you could name them like that: Italian Battleship Hull I , Italian Battleship Hull II , Italian Battleship Hull III , Generic Battleship Hull I , Generic Battleship Hull II etc.

I wanted to ask if there is an opportunity (or the idea to develope a way) to see, how far the different parts of the armour strech and where essential parts of the ship are (like ammo and engine)? Sometimes my ammo-detonation takes part in places, where I did not expect them to be. Also the all-or-nothing scheme of armour is hard to design if you have to fear, that your turret base or ammo depot is outside the citadell.

  5. secondaries have smaller ammunition stores that may also explode. This really is a question for @Nick Thomadis. But iirc he has said in the past that barbettes are modeled within the ship. If you're reading this nick, a Q&A day about some of the games mechanics would be cool.

Ye, you could also assign certain ship modules to the more 'unique hulls' or when selecting a hull it comes up with another section saying Unique/Historical and Generic/Other, So that the game can assign unique modules and doodads to certain hulls that you can't get on the generic hulls but with the generic hulls you get a large range of stuff to put on them (i guess you could also have generic stuff on the unique hulls, but not as much compared to the regular generic hulls.). That way it makes it easier what you want and what to expect from them. I think also when you select a hull for e

  7. Its been a very long time, 4 years in fact, but a few of my old Shipmates at the SLRN said why not come back and check it out. Test the water! I must admit, its looking gorgeous, so much more polish 'Not the people of course'. The UI and graphics vastly improved. I've clearly not yet played enough for a complete understanding of the mechanics, but on the surface its clear, a lot of hard work has gone into it, Well done Devs! I did chuckle at the current Politics and RvR action, its good to see the same old rivalries and skulduggery in play, but now with additional Nations, excellent!

  8. I'd like to have the option to right click on the clerk's message annoncing a kill in the combat news chat to get the info about the player that got the kill. Right now, we get the info about the ''clerk'' profile only, and must search the player's name manually to find out who is active in the area.

  9. Lol I still up until recently had you in my steam listing, damn you play NA sir! Surely you've got a medal for such loyalty!?! Its great to see some familiar faces, yours being one of the finest. The SLRN is under new Command, and is being led admirable. I'm just glad to slip in from the wings and have fun. I have of course not been idle, I put out a call to arms, and many have replied, so who knows you may see the SLRN back to its former self at some point.

  16. im getting random disconected to server select have happent 4 times now after patch im in denmark and the ping is jumping up and down. and is a crazy latancey on clicking on stuff before window open in port and so on.

  17. @Nick Thomadis Would it be possible to have the campaign feature land battles like in age of sail? I really loved that aspect were you could do amphibious attacks and actually be more than clunky ship. So far Age of sail is the only game which has done it so well that i am amazed how has no one else thought this before. With planes they could be few times usable strikes or time based boost like recon flights or preliminary bombing. Time based fighter protection and harassment. The land battles simply has to be there. MG nest can be treated as small artillery which is mobile as infant

  29. Loving the Alpha its really good, awesome and addictive and shaping up to be something very special. What id love to see Is a few sailor sprites here and there mostly in the towers like shown on the ships in Atlantic fleet. I know they are tiny but give the feeling of a crew on board. Also survivor’s in the little lifeboats that appear when a ship sinks. There was a mod for silent hunter that did this including survivors and wreckage and it looked great Also enemy appearing from different positions in custom battles with ability to choose weather and time and perhaps the odd Island ice

  31. Hey, just a simpleish mechanic that could possibly solve some issues with for instance ports owned by "dead" clans, or ports owned by small traitor clans inside a nation. That you can in a nation in someway produce hosility for a friendly owned port that in the end will generate the raider fleet pb for that port. For instance maybe dump dubs into a ports building section, like with guns/stone when you build a fort. And if it's a troll clan with 1-2 members or a dead inactive clan they wont be able to defend it against raiders and it will turn neutral and up for grabs

  32. The fact that you have to actually hit the masts with many many rounds, before they come down, instead of having the amount of rigging damage cause masts to fall like really happened.

  33. Late comer to the game (picked it up in January), but really enjoying my time on the PVE server. Given that, my suggestions are geared toward that environment. Unsure if these are classed as “little things,” but there are two changes that I think would substantially improve gameplay. 1. More NPC squadrons with multiple ship classes. Obviously, there are already the powerful squadrons patrolling around capitals, however I’m thinking of some smaller versions. For example, a 3rd rate and a frigate or a United States with some accompanying 6th rates. Just adds a little variety in NPC encounte

  34. Got the Alpha today and I really love it , just a few small suggestions as the game is already fantastic. It would be great to see some sailors in the towers etc similar to how they appear in Atlantic fleet. I know they are tiny and usually only a few shown but they really add to the ships visually. Also survivors in lifeboats. There was a wooden lifeboat mod for Silent Hunter 3 complete with wreckage and survivors. In custom battles the option to set the weather and perhaps even time of day and to be able to choose real ships like Hood vs Bismarck.

  35. You can hover on guns, in ship designer, and see the damage for each gun. Values of course differ according to the technologies and ship components used, but you can see the difference there.

Depends on what are they shooting at and what armor that thing have, besides even if they are not able to penetrate enemy ship armor, they can still cause fires, damage superstructure and funnels. 2. Depends on shell weights, propellant, gun technology level, place where the shells hits enemy, armor in various places on the ship and also others means of protection like number of bulkheads, water pumping, etc. 3.   38. It would be great if when you click on a fleet you can see which ships are actually inside instead of just the number of ships. Like one Wasa with 2 other ships and if you click on "info" you see two 3rd rates are also inside. It just makes no sense if you can only see one ship but the others are a surprise box. Also bring back the contraband ships. Beeing able the attack smugglers from the own country. At least NPC ships.

  41. SEND FLEET TO DOCKS WHEN I CLICK THE TELEPORT BUTTON. Sorry, I feel strongly about that one. But nobody thinks they can teleport with a buc in their check luggage. Main ship gets sent to docks. Send fleet too! Also - if I have available crew, go ahead and crew up the fleet ships.

  42. The opportunity after a successful boarding to press/force the remaining enemy crew on your own ship. Ar at least some of them. It makes just no sense to just throw 90 sailor over board. And historical captains forced enemy sailor to work on their own ship. And often they voluntary switched sides. Especially to become pirates but also to other countries. Removing the overloaded trader NPC. They should only carry the load they can.

  44. Je me souviens d'un [EDR] Aramis de Nes, pas trop actif à l'époque où je l'étais le plus. (Bonjour à Charlemagne!) 😉 Par contre, quand je rentre en bataille, je combat. J'ai coulé sans problème aux côtés des NN (pas sur mon compte principal) ou contre eux. C'est toujours un plaisir !
