  1. Fellow Admirals, Your participation in the forum, your comments, suggestions, criticism, everything is deeply appreciated and acknowledged. We have been quite silent the last days, because we are extremely busy preparing our next update and planning all the necessary features before releasing the game on Steam Early Access. Our main development team consists of only 3 people and currently our hands are full! The complete road map with the main features is going to be provided next week. Soon, we will inform you about our forthcoming update "Alpha 3", at least those confirmed, since

  2. Dear players, Developers promised to post the roadmap and will do it soon. They are a small team (3 full time developers) but are constantly present on this forum to gather feedback and suggestions. Do not worry that they do not communicate as often as you want, this time is better spent on getting the content out.

  3. We really need more communication of the developers as discussions in the forums are going in all directions. We also dont really hear much from them besides acknowledging bugs and from what iv'e seen has recently stopped giving feedback to suggestions. I propose a dev diary so that we can see what the devs are focusing their efforts on so forum posts and tester can stay and keep relevant one topic at time. It should be moderated just enough to keep everything ontracks and not derail into a historical debate as we've seen multiple times. for an example say the developers release a d

  5. No sorry, this is a realistic game, if you want unrealistic buffs or nerfs to make cruisers or destroyers at the same level of a battleship you should play at World of Warships, in real life a cruiser or a destroyer are inferior to a battleship, the game is called "UA: Dreadnought" for a reason, the other types of ships are secondary, moreover, a WW2 battleship has a superior accuracy than an old Dreadnought thanks to the radar and the modern Fire Control System, which is correct and this must not change.

  8. Then what needs to be changed is the respective dud rate and reliability of torpedo, not the damage of the torpedo. The fact that number of torpedo required to be fired, vs number of torpedo that successfully exploded on target are two differnthing things. True, early torpedos had significant problem, as is the WW2 US torpedo(German torpedo had similar issue early on as well), but those can be fixed. The reliability of torpedos and the damage of torpedos are two different matters. Besides Royal Oak, Barham went down to 3, Repulse and POW went down to 4(these torpedo that hit the repulse a

  10. Yeah thats fine, never knew the dev team was so small. Which actually goes to show how talented everyone is working there (seriously this like open beta level work for a closed alpha/indev stage this is very promising). Seriously take your time, id rather have a polish product that is delayed than a game that is rushed released and is then marked as bad. Feel like an arse lol. Hope i was too condicending with muh posts. Im suprised you have a road map was gonna assume it would ready by alpha 6-8. That and i thought you had 30+ peeps working on the project (too used to triple 'A

  11. aaaaaaahhhhhhh, ok didnt realise the dev team was THAT small. Well i fully understand why lol. If it's easier they can just do it when they have the time to do so, that they aren't rushed and stressed out. Sorry if i sounded insentive, guess i need to used to the fact not even dev studio is a triple aaaaaaayy company (hope you get the reference). From only 3 peeps the work they have done is beyond amazing actually, i appreciate how much work they put into from the modelling, texturing (i need to get better at that) to the insane amount of code that is required for any of this to

19. Another overblown argument all around. Torpedoes need to accomplish three things: They need to be fun as well as achieve a balance between usefulness and atmosphere. If they're not fun, players won't use torpedo-equipped ships. If they're over or under-powered, players will min/max to exclude them or will use them exclusively. Atmosphere is the hardest to achieve because it's by far the most subjective, but the devs have a track record of delivering, so I'm content to see how they develop what is still a very early alpha.

  20. I can understand the need to avoid PR drama, but general outline to show what the team is currently working alone would be great to know what the team is working to address. This can help shape forum discussion in the right direction and help us understand dev's position. If anything, I'd be happy with the pre-.62 patch update from the dev to tell us what are some changes being worked on for the next patch.

  24. @sRuLe you do know that I was saying torpedoes shot relative to ships sunk, not hits to sink? It’s come up several times besides being in the OP. There’s no contention here as to the amount of damage a torpedo can do. In fact it’s in the quote you lifted from my post. If you don’t allow reloads in combat in mission, you really need to remove the timer. Since we have one, we need the other. But again, the contention isn’t about in combat reloads, it’s about the risk involved in having them aboard while taking damage. USN mark14s took about 1/2 hour to reload and were not reloaded i

  25. Before we all continue to gently throw a poo on a fan pointing it at each other... let's firstly make an analysis of a Perfect Torpedo Destroyer in theory and how would it work on practice in all kind of circumstances. Just let's be honest... tonnage sunk by torpedoes in WW2 are slightly much greater than by any other type of naval weapons including aerial bombardment due massive damage to floatage.

  26. To reply to each of your points in turn: Reload Reload being stored somewhere on ship is a very different scenario from "being able to reload in combat", or even like the case with Japanese torpedo reloads being at least designed with mechanism to assist in speedy reload should it become necessary. I have not came across the reliability percentage in Mark 10 though I have searched around for a bit, granted I did not go through any of my books (and I don't have the most impressive collection either), so it will be good to see where that information came from. Edit: So I did take

  27. You need to do research my friend. Outside of a few Japanese destroyers and below water torpedo tubes, reloads weren't a thing, and the thing you have to remember with Yamato was those were air dropped torpedoes not ship launched 21"-22" ones. I understand your fallacy but please go do your research before you make an argument. And in game torpedo hit rate is hilariously too high. I'm averaging between 16.6% to 25% hit rates on torpedoes when historically they were at best 1-3% depending on circumstances.

  29. So far the compartmentalization on ships is a good plus for the damage model but it doesn’t allow for certain things such as: -Capsizing -Large Holes in the sides of ships (currently the armor just buckled and blackens) -Turret Roofs being blown off -Masts and superstructure being toppled -Better Ammunition detonations Whilst it isn’t fair to expect all of the aforementioned things to be fixed, the main thing I can think of is capsizing. Personally, splitting the ship lengthwise down the middle in terms of the compartments would let the ship settle

  39. Alliances, whether between clans or nations, allowing multi national port battle participation is the only way to move forward without asking admin to take 4 steps back in development. Thinking a civil war mechanic, no matter how awesome it might be when used as intended, wont be abused by alts at some point is lunacy. Paid DLC forged papers and port investments closed the door on the player base for mobility between nations, i highly doubt it was unintentional. This was all said many times when most of the people who commented here in this thread demanded REDS break up and switch nations "for

  46. If the devs put them in the game, I for one would like the option to disable them. Those who want them can have them, those who don't can avoid them. We're all happy. Plus I have the ONLY reason I need to have: for me, it will NOT be fun having them there. That's it, pure and simple. It's NOT what I want, and I play games for fun (silly me). I've been reading naval military history for close on 40 years. I can assure you my attitude is not based on ignorance. How about you go read what I took the time to write in the CV thread and respond to it constructively. You'll even see me

  47. If that's true then can you explain how if I attack an AI ship with the same ship and we both shoot doubles at each other I take nearly twice as much damage? Even though the AI ship is mahogany/crew space and has no upgrades or port bonuses. While mine has the best books and upgrades. Can you tell us how that is even possible if the AI has no buffs?

  48. My pocket battleship for "destroy a full fleet". I do not think I can do better than that. Technically its a Battlecruiser but at 26kn its not... and its armored like a battleship. The choice of tower costed me some accuracy, but I gained it back in weight saving and stability. Gun are really close to the center of the ship, giving it a low pitch penality. Accuracy: 21% accuracy at 10 000m. Since it only have two turrets even with 17" gun it have relatively low target signature. Its cheap and well armored. You get 6 of them... so that's 24x17" gun! It kill escorts in 2 volleys
