First rates must be very rare and the real final goal in a sandbox game, they must have the whow effect when they go in battle and they must be very expensive and you must pay maintenance for that (so that economy will have a purpose in the game again). But to do that we need PBs with lower BR, so we can decide if we want to join in big ships or we want to use numbers of players. I suggested to fix the PB BR with the money and number of players who has a port in that city. So most important ports will have bigger br and smaller ports are open to small br battle.   3. Cheap ships to encourage RVR and PVP is a great idea... only if they are crafted. Back in the fine woods days we had multiple 1st rate battles sometimes daily with 100 folks involved. Ships were lost over and over. But because they were easy to replace...everyone focused on the fighting rather than the time and expense needed to organize crafting. This should be the case in the current version of the game and it sadly is not.   4. The sad thing is, just trying to encourage pvp doesn't make it a good game. The battles themselves are fantastic, there is nothing comparable on the market, but sadly the rest is far away from perfect. I still hope, that we will once get the game we dream of.

  5. hethwill this SoL thing is simply bullshit! By now we have left the EA, NA has been released and (should be) a finished game! instead we continue to turn around! The devs don't have a plan, they just make us believe that they want to improve the game, instead their only purpose is to make money by telling us stories! There are so many things that the players asked, but no they do things that nobody asked for! Result we had a wipe and after two months the economy, crafting and RvR are of no use, there is still a bit of OW pvp fum for me, that s all! Too bad this game could be a masterpiec

  6. Two simple improvements to fleet mechanics in port. When I assign a ship to fleet... if I have available crew.. . put the crew on the boat. When I try to teleport with a ship in fleet, send the ship to the docks automatically. I promise, none of us think we can catch a flight to Tumbado with a pirate frigate in our check luggage. Just park the boats and teleport us without requiring 30 more seconds of switching to the fleet, sending ships to docks, waiting for the ui to refresh, switching back to outposts and teleporting again. Neither are big deals... but neither should

This is just another of those permanent "quick" fixes being applied to the game to raise statistics of numbers of port battles, pvp battles etc. I think they fail to identify and target the real issues. Issue: Low rvr activity Devs solution: Give them free shitty ships Result: Increased rvr activity (i.e one side getting slaughtered by the other) Some things that are broken can be fixed with duck-tape, but sometimes better to remove and replace broken part.

  10. Hi all. I recently rediscovered the UG series after having played UGG briefly a few years ago. I don't game that much anymore, partially because I am laptop-bound now, which has prevented me from playing the only thing I have really wanted to lately: the Europa Barbarorum 2 mod for M2TW (I've played EB off and on for ten+ years now). (UGCW runs on modest hardware.) I think this game, UGCW, is absolutely brilliant (especially with the J&P mod).   11. hint: Kill port bonuses, delete the needless ship stat boost. lets actually make economic bonuses. suddenly no one worries about how their ship is worse than the other players. Just one nation could build more ships with less resources. Take the stats away and make it about the skill of the player :).

  14. Maybe if game is not measured by number pvp battles / port battles (because that does not reflect quality). Focus on improving game first and those numbers will go up. Throw that duck-tape that has been used in the trash where it belongs and do proper fixes, Your game deserves that, and the players too.

  15. Bueno...creo que esta todo dicho...jugadores peculiares o faltones hay en todos lados, tu no jagas caso. Se sulen acercar a La Habana pq es de facil acceso desde varios puntos y buen lugar de caza....otras Capitales o requieren navegar mas tiempo o estan en zonas mas "calientes" y es facil que el cazador acabe cazado... Por otra parte los pocos que hay en la faccion dispuestos a presentar batalla estan en otras zonas y los q andan cerca tuyo y oyen que pides ayuda seguro que al ver la batalla no se atreven a entrar...   17. Bueno, yo suelo andar por la zona de la Habana haciendo pvp a veces y no es nada personal, solo es un juego y así debes tomártelo. El problema de la facción es que los veteranos, en lugar de hacer pvp contra otros jugadores que vamos por ahí, se dedican a campear en los fuertes y a no salir de los puertos na más que pa gankear, y al final los que pagáis el pato sois los novatos, porque os cazan más fácilmente. Y luego os dirán cosas del estilo "si ves enemigos no salgáis de la zona capital o acercaros al fuerte etc..." y chorradas varias que no valen de nada. Si ves un enemigo coje un barco,

  20. And how exactly does the current system stop alts from joining a clan on a friendlist and just go 'inactive'? Perhaps look around and open your eyes? Some clans on friendlists are full of known alts from other nationplayers. This only helps to alienate or make acces needlessly harder for new and normal players. If clans want to have the bonusses, then why can't each clan develop it's own portbonusses? There aren't enough ports to be claimed for each group of people that want to play as a clan, essentially blocking some honest groups/players from accessing a necessairy part of this game

And clan control doesn't solve Alt problem's ....Look at Cabo Canaveral an open Pirat port controled by Russian Alt's and there 'is nothing the nation can do because it is "clan contoled" and clan leader do what he want ...even shit on shoe's of the rest of the Nation.....   22. @adishee You have made a great point about campaigns and the necessity of conserving troops. Many if not most games whether vs. ai or player fail to get this right. I would analogize it to playing a table top miniatures game as a standalone scenario vs. playing it as part of a structured campaign. You find exactly the situation you describe - players will withdraw to conserve troops for the next battle rather than play an artificially high army morale break point.

Let's remove Clan control (may be keep it only for pirat ) and give back the game to Nation and player's.   31. That's why i try to counter weight with the opposition. I'm not a fan of clans by any stretch, mind you. I was and will always be a Nation man and at the same time, by having participated in every single change i know and remember the entire road to here. But alas, I play the game as is so Clan it is ( until it changes ). I do suggest stuff, same as anyone ( i'm a player same as everyone else ), but obviously more aimed to a more simulated world and less a mmo game which have came to conflict with many.   36. There’s only one reason for me to join a clan whatsoever - the port bonuses. Without that, I’m playing for the nation I chose. Re: the alts argument - if somebody wants to pay for a second copy of the game, and build a ship, and transport it to their main nation, and use it... I don’t care. They paid the port taxes, collecting all those mats, and permits, and guns, and reps, and I get to sink that ship later. What’s more, this is no different than a nation player moving ships to a freetown, for sale.

  39. This was an issue in the base game that I corrected the numbers for in the UI mod for the CSA campaign(Union campaign work still needs to be done). The Rebalance mod also has those number corrections, but they break once the deployment sizes are increased to account for detached skirmishers being disabled. While not ideal, the player should at least always be getting at least as many units as the battle displays. Getting the numbers to line up exactly would basically require hard coding dozens of values instead of using a generic solution, so it's not something I'm likely to do anytime s

  41. Just drop the silly "clan friends" list completely. The bonuses apply to the port, or they don't. Stop encouraging politics and enforcing a limit on the number of clans that a nation can have.

  44. Captain, no bugs were spotted during the investigation. Try to avoid being hitted when your ship has a fire onboard, as focused fire aimed on your ship may case the fire to spread much faster
