  1. Iam sure iam not the first one with this idea. Woudnt it be great to send Ships with Cargo between Outposts? I dont mean teleport, i mean AI sailed an capturable ships. You cant use them for Trade, just to move stuff between your Outpost. Waht do you think?

  2. After reading through @Hullabaloo 's thread"In defence of ganking" (cant link on mobile) Suggesting to revert to the regular 2 or 3 min join timer RoE. Fair battles are nice. But after all, it IS a MMO where, in the largest Part of the map, you should only get to fight what you see (OW timer of about 2 to 3 minutes simulates only nearby ships could help). Ganking deserves to exist, however IMHO not in the form of revenge fleets or what not. If noone was able to reach your battle in 3 minutes, he was, due to OW speed boost, just never realisticly gonna make it there anway. In par

  3. I've recently come back to the game after an absence of 18 months. I've been playing on PVE because I only want to do the PVP grind once (waiting for release). I must say I'm blown away at how good the new UI looks and I am impressed with how smoothly everything works. I trust the developers to provide some final tweaks to the combat and trading models and the game will be ready, except for one last missing piece to put the game over the top - Exploration of the Open World. The game is incredible from so many standpoints, especially the open world the developers have built. So here's what

  4. @Anolytic It was a good fight, and you won with 3 min to go! Anyway we defend for the 7th time, with no screeners as usual, joining in port! You had the wind from the beginning, and its a big advantage (good for you you joined the better way possible)! I don't understand what you have to complain about, you won and this is a fact! You can't complain with us if the game mechanics provide the possibility of kiting, as I don't complain about OP muskets with which your first rates were fitted! For the child who loves to cry: now the only thing you do is comment and complain on

  5. Sending AI traders by players is a great idea. It would save time to do other stuff. I see no argument against it, only pro.

  7. Instead of just playing the boarding mini-game the entire time as usual? We didn't deserve to win so no complaints. We made some mistakes, the worst being not spending the 5M reals worth of Madagascar Jewels we stole to buy 1777 Muskets! At least the 4th rates had a bit of a fight and fired some cannons on occasion, so I enjoyed it. gg

  8. Battle of Carriacou Russia vs GB Not a great battle per se, as the brits wanted to kite the entire time like usual. After the fort had saved them on two (three?) previous attempts, this time we took no chances, and brought 3 mortar brigs. The battle was close - on time/points - but pretty decisive in terms of the action.

  9. I would adjust it so that after 2 minutes of the battle being open to both sides, the side with larger BR is the MAX BR allowed in the battle (similar to patrol zones and Port BAttles having max BR). so if a battle is 300 br versus 200, the side with 200 can only add 100 more BR of ships into the battle for those 20 minutes. I'd also agree to adjusting the time to go down from 20 to 15 minutes

  11. Love the idea! Proposed it myself already. It's always great to see different people come up with the same ideas independently. It usually means that there is a common sense and that makes the idea more valid. Let's replace AI NPC fleets by Player NPC fleets in OW. Then, sinking traders becomes really meaningful and the game attains a new facet: economic warfare on the high seas.

  12. We used to have a transport system a long time ago, but it was not in OW sailed by AI, so I suggested it and got booed so bad that the devs removed the feature completely. But yes, this is a great idea...allowing us to send cargo in the OW w Ai sailing it. #UpVote #YesPlease

  13. I cant really accept that a hard core pvp player would be ok with this as it would deny you the entire reason why you play, player vs player and thus would remove a large number of possible combat marks. Also think of it this way, if the person sending the cargo actually sees the ship leave port he could in fact escort the ship and engage any raider that approaches. This would be a good thing for the trader as he could ensure that even if he loses the battle, his cargo will be about 30 min sail time away from the raider and thus is safe. It reduces his risk to a minimal level and the trad

Naval Action Crafting.xls

  16. 3 ways. 1. New Orleans is the "infinite" port for White Oak. That means White Oak will ALWAYS spawn at that port. You can try and get it by bidding a higher contract then other players there. 2. There are random ports that have big supplies of White Oak (1,000,000 starting supply), the Clan that owns these ports can extract them for a price of Doubloons to take them out. Any clan that is on the Friendly clan list of the owning port can also take these missions to extract from the limited supply. A number of these limited supplied ports have been found and are currently being use

  17. You said it happened to you, and I believe you. However, I think you made up that example and it did not really happen with that combination of ships and BR. Correct? The 20mins timer is closed as soon as the BR is close to equal with a certain margin. 490 vs 500 should close immediately. And that is the point. As soon as there is a quasi-equal BR, the battle is closed. If the solo Bellona is handled well it has a very good chance of success. I think the point is not the time, but the threshold margin that decides what is considered equal and what ships may join.

  18. More OW random events.... like the wrecked fleets... Easy to add story-line stuff e.g. an Indiaman full of stuff adrift that you can claim because the crew caught smallpox or something...

  19. I may just be old school, but the longer ROE just seems to benefit the lazy. For example, a trader snow gets attacked. Given the low BR of traders, they can call and ask for help for twenty minutes. Were they afk sailing, not watching for potential enemies? Why didn’t they have their friends escort them? I prefer the ROE to benefit proactive PVP not reactive PVP.

  20. I wrote this a week ago on the forum : "About new ROE rule of reinforcing weakside for 20 minutes, it is such an abusable feature. Of course being abused by guys who are mostly into pvp ! I give you a nice example. Hey let's do 3 vs 3 battle ? Okay let's do it and battle starts your team with 3x1st rate and enemy joins with 2x1st rate plus a 2nd rate. When you beat them, they will say you were superior, you had 3x1st rate !, but why didn't they join with 3x1st rate as they could easly ??? REASON: cause if they fart up, they can call another mate during 20 minutes, so it become

  23. I remember the Devs saying that they will not have player AI sailing between ports because players will not like it when the AI are destroyed . My apologies in advance if I misunderstood, I am not trying to misquote the Devs. Personally I would love to send the AI ship out in OW regardless of the risk. It would be great to buy a ship fill it full of cargo, passengers, letters, etc., and send it off to another port. but I see two big problems for the Devs. 1) AI sail through land. So players would certainly exploit no risk deliveries. St Ann to KPR. 2) NA players often

  25. The hard core PVPers don't really care about combat marks... they live for the hunt, just in case you didn't realise this. We are like prowling wolves... looking for prey that can be easily taken, maybe this makes me a villain... I don't know, but I sure enjoy this part of the game... and I would sink shipping for a war effort if it means destroying someone else' stuff. I suppose the game can be what players want it to be aye? I love PVP and support the idea of having transported cargo in the open world via NPC 100%. So that I can sink another players things. Fact of the matter is..

  26. After taunting Jack with "BORK BORK BORK, these are our waters." Jack proceeded to clean house and put the trash out. Another battle was going against a Hercules and his fleet Niagara. We boarded and sunk the Herc and captured the Niagara. We went to their main port and refused to fight or even help out their comrades.

  30. Ignoring the Troll @Anolytic Yes, a legitimate tactic. Boarding mods exist so why not use them? PB mechanics are as they are so why not kite? Neither are much fun though that's the only point I was trying to make. Upgrade decided PB and to cap L'Ocean in 2 rounds seems a bit extreme but that's a discussion for elsewhere and neither are a criticism of you guys. You deserved to win. You had a better fleet comp too I think. I had little choice but to kite cos I was 1 v 2 against the aggas most of the time. Like I said, I still enjoyed it though and I learned a bit from it.

  31. Are you talking Besides Art of Ship Handling, Gunnery Encyclopedia, and Book of 5 Rings? NA-map has the recipes for the three I stated above. The Rest, if not in the admiralty are all RNG drops from AI wrecks.

  32. I think the looting of sunk ships needs to be addressed by either having them stay afloat longer or allowing a larger radius to loot them. Ships carried longboats so that would be the reason why a larger loot radius would be technically accurate. Thanks

  33. I wrote even before the implementation of the new RoE that it would basically be a sealclubbers party - too many ways to exploit in favor of the experienced PvP player and it'll just end up in a situation where any1 getting ganked can't get assistence because partly no one knows what lies beyond the horizon and more specifically - the ganked will most likely be sinking before reinforcements can arrive which basically locks part of the BR available to a ship that from the start has been focus fired. We've tested this before.

  34. @Thonys the patrol area is a place where you are supposed to get nice fights - current OW roe would do work great for that As for the rest, yeah OW should be gank, get ganked and deal with it

  39. This clearly shows your have very lite knowledge of how pvp in general, what drags people to it and the different aspects of it. And I am not here to enlighten you, but pvp is more then just deciding a time and place and then "duke it out". This ain't Naval Action "legends". So stop trying to limit gameplay and learn / play the game instead of feeling sorry for yourself and other new players having a "hard" time. Adapt, learn. It's not that hard to avoid other players, and if you completely want to avoid pvp then there is a server for just that.:). Thank you an

  42. Not sure what keeps them from adding it... we even have flag DLC already. My only guess would be, they are still working on some higher quality paints for the DLC and the old familiar ones will be available for all plebs without DLC. The old paints aren't bad but the only ones among them, that I would pay for without thinking twice are Rogue Noir, Scarred and maybe classic white. More "used look" paints like "scarred" and "outlaw" is what I want to see... no more 100% maiden voyage and brandnew ships, please. I want to see battle scars, patches and visible wear on the gear.
