  5. Just an idea. Atm, if you are maxed out your rank your earned XP is useless. To promote gameplay, have all earned xp store on account. Every battle is worth something. That XP then can be converted into Citation or such. 5k xp = 1 citation, 10(50k xp) Citations = 1 Ship Deed or Mod. Like or Nah?

  6. I think you might need to read the title of this topic again. Or maybe that's the Dutch definition of a great battle. 3v1. I would have posted screenshots from yesterday at Coquibacoa, but sadly that was neither great nor a battle. 10 Dutch were doing hostility with 5-6 more ships outside. Russia jumped in with all of 4 people and the Dutch instantly started running away.

  8. Once you've got all 5 slots unlocked, the XP becomes useless. Would be nice if it went to something useful. Either conversion rate for Doubloons or extra Reals...or flags...permits....something. +1

  9. Darth, I have played your mods for RTW1 and STW2. I only saw your departure notice as I was a late comer to the TW series. I have been on the Madminute Games team that did Take Command and Scourge of War. I have been on the Command Ops team which did: HTTR, COTA, BFTB (WWII realtime operational combat), and I was an investor and team member of AGEOD which did: AACW and ACW2 (and many others). I must say I am really impressed with what you have here. It got it for $9 USD, but at $30 without bloodsucking DLC for each battle ... it is a gem. I have been learning the ropes

So I've been talking to some players of my Nation in the PVE server and we were discussing about why PVE server is so empty and over repetitive overall and here are some ideas on how this should've actually been from the get go. Overall character progress, nations & ranks: This is something that I've been keeping for myself because I was planning on making my own game with some friends that study game creation and such. This is probably around 25~30% progress of the whole file, there are still a lot to be done.   13. Well that was the original plan actually, but the sqaure fort at Nippes was the factor at the start of the battle, so we sent them out. The reason skittlesdakat sunk is because he panicked once the other 9 Indiaman were clear of the battle. We got into an order of retreat which should of put 6 stern chasers on Rabman and would of been easily chained out for an escape for all ships. That was working for myself and Mr Flint, skittles spent his time freaking out about having Spanish Rig on his ship rather than focusing on working on Rabman's sail. I asked him 3 times to get the stern guns loa

  14. @King of Crowns, my guess is SKittles finally lost his shit and decided to take his shit from the warehouse. He regularly gets farmed. We took 500 teak off him yesterday. When Hemp showed up to try and avenge him we had a nice battle outside Frozen Cay. 3 Princes and a store-bought Surprise (damn Heth) against 2 Hercs and a heavy Rattle. We focused Skittles and they stayed at distance. And then ran when he sunk.

  16. @ this stage i am disguisted bye the state of the trading sience last past of last week (end december 2018) , trade goods have become to few, long searches real long searches, real long sails, not that i mind a long sail, but now, its going out of balance... I myselve always was a trade junky, and will remain so, there is no place on the map i havent vistited, i been evry location, multiple times over the years can not count no more. but its not only with trade goods it seems it seems also be with the normal goods, becoming a issue, what brings ship building in danger so all who love

  30. Age of sail is about protect trade, establish trade control and mess up enemy trade. Funny how NA sandbox gives that same overview and opportunity. Hitting such convoy is very proper, no matter how much salt or dislike is presented. Thread moved to Caribbean news.

  38. Hey Wraith, you know our little forum PvP is just for fun.... Listen, there are TONS of things that we disagree with the devs about... the difference is that we don't immediately start threads about how "Change X is RUINING THE GAME!!!!" (not saying YOU do, just making an example...). Many of the times, my "likes" of Admins posts are more about supporting experiments to change mechanics while the came can still be altered pre-release. I, for one, will ALWAYS be disappointed that the OW is so static and lacks the ability to have improvements and destruction based on player inputs. Howe

  39. I still never understood why the grids was removed from the map. I get the cries about the long/lag cords (it doesn't have to be pin point) but it was never GPS and most of us used third party stuff any way to find our location so all it did was hurt the new players and casuals. Grinds need to be returned and location just doesn't have to be pen point accurate. It can be a very rough (drop digits off the end) cords. They should bring back how it was on the map. I click on a port on the map and it will tell me what can be built there and the major resources of that port.

  40. When entering a friendly port, it is no more possible with the new interface, to know what can be produced there without opening an outpost. This was not the case with previous interface. And with the future disparition of the trader tool, there will no more be any way to know and to plan where to place buildings, forests, plantations and so on. A new difficulty for players, with no compensation in terms of fun or of immersion: exploring the map is useless by now, because you enter in the city and get no information on it.

  41. TBH, I really don't want a noon fix. I want the continuation of the trader tool system of finding our position by triangulation. My point has always been that IRL captains had ways of navigating that did not rely on seeing a land mass and recognizing it. Navigation, should be enjoyable. Losing the Trader tool would be punitive. Here is an option: let the port finder be expanded to tell us how far we are from a particular port. Do that with 3 ports and you can triangulate roughly where you are on the open sea. Then you can do away with the trader tool. The gaming community will probably ma

  42. This is a very important point. Is "very rare" really good for the game? I agree completely with @Sovereign that the majority should have the superior upgrades, not an elite minority. More access to the better resources, means more players will have the good upgrades and be willing to go out and take on the big boys. You don't take a knife to a gunfight and you don't don leather armour against a guy in plate (Agincourt notwithstanding).

  43. If you remove trader tool can you do use all a favor and put back on the map what ports can produce (buildings) and maybe major resources like we had before the wipe? I know I prob won't be the only one saying this....."I'm not going to go from port to port in a trade ship to find out where every thing is only to be ganked constantly." I'm not saying list all goods in that port bu something like This port produces Fir, Coal, Hemp and Caribbean goods.
