  1. Communication in various forms is an asset in any online multiplayer game. I already proposed more means of communication in form of grouping (chats) for various tasks beyond clan, nation and trade chats which all have their limitations. Now this proposal here is about building a 'message board' in every port where everyone can leave a notice, which will expire after number of days. He may even chose how long it stays alive and have to pay a fee to the port owner (clan) for messaging. Like 1 day: 10.000 gold, 2 days: 20.000 gold... 9 days: 90.000 gold. Option to determine the price if you

  2. The attack button should be disabled for all ships on the server within 15 minutes of server close so that people can’t take advantage of slower traders, etc coming into port because of the mx requirement to log out, etc. I was tagged at 7 minutes to server close last night and it basically ruined my night because we aren’t supposed to be starting new battles, were supposed to be finishing the battles we are in and then logging off. I suffered 3 mil in lost ships and goods. The worst is he didn’t even target me, he just went after the PVE traders in my fleet. So tagged all in the las

  3. What if the gulf of panama in the pacific (south of Portobelo) was the new player spawning area. Kind of like the rookie zone in the Bahamas we had. Each nation minus the "Hardcore" ones can have a Non capturable port with the safe zone that entails, to teach them as many of the aspects of the game as possible. Maybe a single free port in the center to show how they work as well. The area should follow the old rookie area rules to attempt to limit ganking in this area, and loot should also be basic/repairs. Ships should also be locked to shallow rates. Once the player feels they are ready to l

  4. Imagine if NA had Private clubs with paid membership and it's requirements. Quick list of some proposed Club Names: -Thieves Den Club(Pirates) -Royal Lions Club(Britain) -Patriots Club(US) - P R O P O S E O T H E R N A M E S - (The rest of the Nations) What is the Club? Club is a private NPC Guild (player can only have 1 NPC and 1 Player club active at the time). To join a Club every player will be presented with a list of tasks and requirements they have to complete. (similar to the Tutorial missions). Once all tasks are completed, player can accept

  5. I recorded my Trinco duel with Rorona, explaining my thought process and plans in subtitles. This gives you an unique option to get "into my head" during a fight. It can be a good guide for those of you who want to polish their PvP skills. ( I know I could have done a few things better and more effective. Critique and comments are welcomed. ) @admin I think this video, or similar ones, can be quite useful for new PvP players. Should people find this video interesting, I can voice-comment similar battles in the future.

  8. Hello Captains and Admin, I'll start off saying that between my 2 characters I have about 2000 hours and about 2 years in the game. I had never played a multiplayer game before. I remember when I first got it, the STEEP learning curve. Absolutely NO idea what to do. The GREAT players that helped me and yes the DREADED seal clubbers. HAHAHAHA, I look back at those times and wonder why I stuck with it. I stuck with it because I love the sea and ships. No other game has given me the feeling of really being at sea and really sailing. The drop dead gorgeous graphics, turning off my other monit

  9. Hello, I think players should be able to rejoin a battle after they have left. let me share an experience I've just had. I was outside of Port Morant and I hopped into a battle cause it looked like this bloke was in trouble based on the br, fortunately he was fine cause it was only ai. there was a lynx left and he had a connie so I left knowing he would be just fine. about 20 secs after I leave I see 3 danish blokes sail up to me and hop in the battle. so then I was stuck, unable to save the poor man in the connie only because I had already been in the battle beforehand. perhaps this is just a

  10. With the goal of increasing OW travel, how about a cargo option of passengers? The way I see it, these passengers could either be a straight cargo option or some form of mission. Unlike other cargo, a passenger wants to go to a specific location and is willing to pay a higher price to take him there. With different professions and values, there are different classes of passenger. Military passengers (fat Admirals) might be willing to travel on a warship. Lower class passengers would accept travel on smaller traders, but the Quality will only take passage on an Indiaman. They'd pay the hi

  12. I would agree only if you can join again if you did not repair in Open World and if you did not enter into a port (for repairing) in between. To avoid evident exploit.

  13. Aye. +1 Add a global section where messages could be seen from any ports board providing there tagged with global ? This would let bloody hound take the black spot off the forums and into the game PS: @Bloody Hound

  14. Really like the idea. Always wondered why an outpost owner had no way to advertise. Seems like a basic trader mechanic. With a lot of other potential uses. Might not need moderation if the messages are not persistent, and if the owning clan has some degree of control. The exception would be in the green zones where there is no clan control and the player populations are a good deal higher. Boards will get spammed. Might need to restrict posting in the green zones to outpost owners. Or auto-expire 3? days from last sign on. Or something like that.

  17. US Screen leader: Amp Secondary: Teutonic Under Amp's lead we were almost able to sink Aster, and the Bellona player. Due to some mishaps and overall better sailing abilities, the French were able to recover their damaged ships back to fighting shape. Amp sank and command changed. Under Teut's lead I took a more passive approach and wanted to keep the US fleet floating and wait for a good opportunity to make another attempt. Zaphod unfotunately had a bad disconnect and we lost him while the main US fleet took the opportunity to target the player "Lazzie" as we noticed a good opp

  20. A recording of my duel with Rorona Trinco vs Trinco, where I describe my thought process in subtitles. I guess it could work as an advanced tutorial for PvP (and yes, I see many things I could have done better ) Critique and comments are welcomed

  21. Restricting access to ships in a game thats about ships is not the best idea. People want to sail HMS Victory or Santisima simply because they want to (history and so on) and if they can't sail their favorite ship they'll just leave.

  22. I cannot remember the correct term but it was operating 1st rates that cost the money, if this cost cannot be paid place the ship in a state of unreadyness at no ongoing cost but it takes a minimum time period say 3 days and a reasonable cost to make the ship usable so anyone taking a break from the game doesn't get bankrupted.
