It has been many moons since I've seen a Steam marketing campaign, which is a right shame.... Advertisement of the game is critical to infusing the playerbase. Just some panning shots of large fleets, linebattles etc. Little or no mention of the open world, mmo, or a lot of critical stuff that you want prospective players to know about.
