CRafting - Feeling a Little Stupid

I had someone walk me thru crafting some copper plate this afternoon. I got thru that and saw the plate somewhere in the UI but I didn't have the ship at the time so I left it as it was. My guide is on the far side and asleep now.

I now have the ship but can't find the crafted plates to install.

Told ya it was stupid. Where might they be?

Strangest thing - I know we both saw the plates after we crafted them. A few minutes ago I was looking in my warehouse and there were all the materials that I used to make the plates - copper ingots, gold and iron fittings. All restored to the inventory count before I made the plates.

Something is messin with me.

Just to finish this  - I remade the plates with the same materials used in the first attempt and the plates ended up in my warehouse. Put them on a Niagara. I see glimmers of 32 knots on the compass speedometer. Wow!
