I do not think many stay longer than 10 mins. (gamespy)

but I'm disappointed about not roll back the mission cancelation issue ... I know sailers with only 1h time to sail at the evening  ... they come online ... try to find a mission in the safe zone only to do one or two missions ... they go offline after the 3. cancelaltion without shot one ball ...

They should go to PvE server.

admin said that he is not sure if missions will survive till release. Better expect them not to be around.

This looks excellent! Especially the reduction in sail damage cap, I've found recently you often "max" out the damage with the first few shots of chain and the rest or the broadside does nothing.

Also mast pen indication is super important, I was very confused when I learned to demast and often hear others complain about "125 mast hits no demast wtf how" etc now that can't happen.

When you are depowered and change your percentage of sails you dont have to click T again to be depowered again, not more not less.

Truly the biggest problem this game was suffering from. 🤔

I disagree Otto ... PVP, PVE, RVR and trading are parts of this game. Some days in the week I also have only 1 or 2 hours time for sailing ... should I play at the PVE server at these days?

Should I go to another server to have fast PVP? ... arena mode? ... oh wait ... NAL is dead, isn't it? ... I'm asking me why?

Do you know what I mean Otto?

This server isn't populated so high ... everyone should be able to play here ... and if someone like to have better loot from missions he should have to go outside the safezone and risk more  ... or have to attack an OW Fleet ... but clicking and canceling 3 times a day for missions in the safezone and getting missions far away isn't fun and every new player will log off after some days of doing that  ... will never learn the game mechanics .. will never level up ranks and ships ... will never become a PVPer ..  and will never be a good PVP opponent for you

... just my opinion

  • Depower (T) command has been reworked: It is now partially separated from the main sail control.
    • If depower (T) is ON then your W / S command will only work with square sails
    • If depower (T) is OFF then your W / S command will work as before. (raising all sails including staysails)
    • This means you will have more precise speed management controls without the need for too many annoying clicks.

This is a really, really excellent quality of life update. I think this is a great step to making the game more playable to everyone. Keep it up- and bring us that beautiful UI ASAP 😍

Does this also count for mortar hits on Fort? Because i was in a mortar brig once and shot the fort and got Hull hits so i continued shooting. A while later my teammates told me that i dont even hit the Fort and make no damage.

❤️

Forts have two HP bars, the Fort it's self and the base.  The fort is the Bow part of the bar and the base is the structure bar.  If you hit the mark it's only around 50 hits to kill the fort, if your only hitting the base it takes around 150 hits to kill the fort.  If your hitting both...well you can do the math.  You should use a spotter or check your Map when hitting to see which bar is being removed HP and adjust your hits as needed.  If you get a big cheer and crew are killed, your hitting the fort it self.  That always is a sure way to know.

With that @admin are we ever going to get this fixed where you can't see the aiming while on land (you can see them just fine shooting at sea/ship targets). This could be fixed by bringing back the red dot for aiming.  Even though the way around this is just using a spotter, but if you just accidently tap your mouse your off again and have to respot walk your target again.

Well, for these players it would be so much easier just to play on he PVE server isnt it.

Please do something about random fire. Separate keys for each fire mode has been suggested before and you seemed open to the idea. Please consider implementing it as soon as your schedule allows :)

Remove random fire simple

you apparently never used it right, it has it's use to max crew and cannon crit damage on a ship your firing upon.  Try it out when your broad side to broad side with AI or even a player specially when armor is low and you will notice more crew and cannons being criting each broad side.    And yes I'm one of those that forget or taps to many times and/or not enough and accidentally gets it into random or the wrong fire order so I know the frustration which is why I understand the use for another key.

Just thought of something we have the [bracket] keys for doing complete broad sides right?  Maybe make those the random fire keys or something like that for seperate operations, but than I start to think of it if you move it out of the "V" key folks will just be doing the same with front and back fire shooting the wrong one and complaining so maybe just leave it as is.

Who wants to play on that dead server, but maybe they have more time on weekends and only want to pop off a mission or two during the week to get some money for econ and there longer play time on other days?  THIS IS NOT A PVP ONLY SERVER IT'S A PVP/PVE Server so get over it man.  If all these guys that like doing missions just stop playing your player base numbers will be as low as PvE server so stop trying to push them away. 90% of the players are the ones that just pop on for a few hours and than pop off.  This comeing from a guy with over 7K hours in this game.  You need them to keep this game alive or you will have some very dead seas to hunt on.   Are maybe you should go play NA:L  oh wait pure PVP failed.....right?  Cause no one wants to fight some one that actually wants to fight back?

Gives you a better tagging chance for targets far away. Also in notice it again and again that when using random you get more reload shocks on enemy. Maybe because you deal more damage in shorter time idk. And it looks cool and is nostalgic, there was a time where we only had random fire.

alright hold you horses.

I am all in for as many players to play on the server as we can get. I am also one of those people logging in for an hour or two if i don't have more time. It is possible to have PVP, PVE or even trading done in those couple of hours. That's how i play a lot of times. We were talking about the cancellation of missions preventing people to play the game. I do find this overly exaggerated. If players just find those secluded spots on the huge map, its possible to do missions as much as anyone wants without the risk of being intercepted.

Ye I knew it’s function but it’s annoying af when you hit it wrong but ye moving to the brackets is actually a really good idea but you would have to press it twice

I would vote for the cone/range adjustment key to be moved away from my foremast controls. I keep bumping it and messing up my shots lol. Even two keys over from R I'd be content with.
