Make Naval Action more realistic

4.Realistic economy: supply and demand.  Players must have more prominence, or the trade becomes boring.

6.Repairs: instead of having a timer to be able to repair again, it could be passive repair(it can be activated and desactivated as sailing, boarding...), being slower.

8.Your ships can travel without you: you assign them a crew and select a destination port, so they sail like a common NPC. Obviously, they can be boarded or sunk by enemy players. I think it´s a better idea than teleporting ships (magic).

9.Stronger storms in battle: ships can be damaged. (No storms in port battles or hostility /combat missions, only in PvP battles).

10.WANTED: rewards system (in your faction) for sinking wanted enemies.

11.Trade missions: the port gives you the goods and you transport them for gold and exp. This increases trade and piracy.

12.Crew´s moral in open world: with food, rum... Fishing would be more useful, and rum would be more valuable.

13.Game translation: this improves gaming experience and attracts more players to Naval Action. Spanish, French, Russian and others...

I quoted the stuff I personally liked, but some of the other stuff I left out, is devastating for the game imo..

I always love it when folks we never seen in game or post come up with big changes to make the game how they want it to be, not knowing a lot of that stuff has all ready been tested and didn't work.  This is not a simulator, you have to make it enjoyable for players.

Maybe but ..day by day is a Stupid Arcade game..

Again it's not a simulator and this game is no where as arcadie as some of the other options out there for Age of Sailing games.  Find one that isn't like some cross of Disney show or so out of date I could play it prob on my phone?  I bet you can't name any.

To all those who say that the game would sink, I recommend you see how it has been during this last year ...
I think Naval Action needs a radical change. If you are too lazy to navigate in a game called NAVAL action,
it may not be your game...
And I'm not asking for this to be a simulator (I agree with the speed in Open World), but I think a lot of quality
is being lost at the expense of those who just want to shoot cannons...

The game is already boring enough to slow it down more.

Pretty much all that needs to be said here... alot of mechanics in NA are already pretty much a waste of time but currently I would say it is acceptable. The more time consuming / grindy / tedious you make the game the less players you'll get because the average joe has a life outside of NA.

Ffs paintings are NOT a viable source of reference since they were used as either commemorative or celebratory events... A ship CANNOT replace a mast in open waters it needs to be more or less stationary which is not achievable unless beached.. When most recounts speaks of demastings it is either a full demasting (horrible catastrophe that would decide the engagement) or - more often - yard or rigging damage that could be replaced during the stress of either a voyage or an engagement.. These could put the ship out of contention for hours but wasn't as catastrophic as the ship retained some maneuverability..

You are wrong. They could completely dismantle royals and topmast at sea, for instance to make the ship safer in an apporaching storm. By the time a captain would give this order the sea would already be rough and winds would already be gale force. There is no reason they could not put up replacements masts or jury rig during normal weather in a temporary lull in the fighting. Even easier to fish ('splint') a damaged but not completely broken mast. There are plenty of documented instances, i'm sure @maturin will have some examples.

Paintings are an excellent reference, unless you're too lazy to be a historian and interrogate your sources. Many visual depictions of ships and battles were executed by seasoned seamen or even eyewitnesses. The work of ignorant hacks was not appreciated by an informed public; the best nautical artists did their research and had access to people who were on the scene. At the end of the day it's art: different creators have different aims. Sometimes it's Picasso, sometimes it's socialist realism, sometimes it's photorealism. Maritime art involved a lot of the latter.

Topgallantmasts and even topmasts could be replaced in a few hours. Spare lower masts were not carried on board.
