surrender ... or scuffle

Recommended Posts

@admin a very good suggestion would be to make the surrender button named >>>scuffle you ship      >> SCUFFLE (the one player option)

where goods can be still in the ship (if not deliberate destroyed) but the crew abandoning the ship  surender is such a negative word some times

there are heroes Too....

its a valid  tactic  to scuffle your ship.

instead of surrendering

Esc. surender button renamed in scuffle or extra option >> scuffle and /or scuffle

it's not the intention to surrender, but to scuffle as a tactic.

discuss: implementation and valid for the game  | rewards | goal | loot | other options | one player option |and outcome | scuttle range _> 600meters |

Well, if scuffle will not give PvP points, it should be a valid solution to ganking 1 vs 10. On the other hand, could be abused in regular fleet battle, where 4-5 ships could be scuffled as a tactic and the enemy will not take anything. If implemented, should be seen very well by Devs.

well seen perhaps,

the upgrades  and the slots of the scuttled vessel can be looted :) or parts of the ship,..  reward is /can be very good

Well, maybe scuttle (not scuffle) could be a solution for ganking. No PvP victory points gained... Often the ganking fleet tag you again, and again if you try to escape due the too short time you were invisible. Self sinking frustrate the fleet and as a result, could be less ganking.

Allow a captain to scuttle the ship but divide the PvP marks to the enemy fleet.. Otherwise it becomes the same as the surrender option today - except the devs removed the ability to deny an enemy the PvP marks through surrendering.. which is why ppl do green on green now.. same tactic - deny the enemy the PvP marks.. Same shit different day..

Yes, scuttling should be an option especially in the case of ganking. Why should I have to let them have my ship. I should have the option to open the sea cocks or ignite the powder train to the magazine and then abandon ship. Or if near shore run it aground and set fire to it. We were actually trained in doing that when I was in the Coast Guard. Most of the crew would be put in the boats and stand off some distance away from the ship then the scuttling crew would go about their business and prep the ship for scuttling. Do not forget the burning of the frigate Philadelphia in Tripoli Harbor.

Fair sailing and have a great day.

The devs aren't going to add a troll option that just makes the game worse.

If you don't want to fight, you can surrender.

None of the ships in this game have enough boats to carry the whole crew, so scuttling a ship offshore was basically mass manslaughter. Maybe if there was permadeath for captains this could be an option. Otherwise it will just be the result of 50% of fights. Lame.

Sheesh, what kind of contingency were they envisioning there?

A scuttling option would be good IF we had a total war game where economic warfare was developed and mattered but since we're for all intents and purposes basically just a variation on a shoot 'em game, it would mainly be used for griefing. One can always just turn off survival if you've suffered enough damage and keep enough distance to avoid the preemptive boarding.

And consensual friendly fire is allowed.
