Hull thickness feedback

Recommended Posts

Remove/Nerf Edinorogs so you get better testing data.

It can be that there was nothing bad in thickness before.  It is just that people were using mods that gave them too much thickness.  These ships then made it feel like that you cannot penetrate anything.

Mods with high bonuses make it easily either...

A: Without mods anything can be penetrated, with mods situation is normalized.

B: Without mods everything feels good, with mods nothing can be penetrated.

but than the endymion will lose  speed (one of the key elements for that ship)

use a other wood

and put planking on your ship and the gap is closed

and i am not even talking about cartagena tar ...

ships differ , just a know fact

Yeah I know all of that.

But still Im talking about the default thickness.

I have seen endymions of teak white with navy hull. It is not a nonsense.

Had some PvP battles and i feel like the thickness of 5th rates is a little bit low. Teak/White Oak Trinc still gets damaged at 30° angle. It that might just be the Edinorogs fault.

Angling against 32pd is almost impossible. Maybe its okay, considering im comparing a 5th rate to a 3rd rate. It feels unrewarding though to get in the perfect position at a 3rds stern but then still get obliterated by a 20° double broadside...

Well a frigate should be scared of the broadside of a ship of the line.

Before, it was utterly a joke seeing how easy was to subdue a very heavy ship.

Captains Reverse destroying victorys with a surprise was something usual. While the guy has skill, there was something wrong on how easy it was.

well  only kinetic energy (solid shot)does penetrates , or not .

30 % angel gives a extra wood thickness

or it should bounce on impact angle

if it angle %  is not calculated on the surface,  its a wrong mechanic..

some time has passed so players got a hold of a new thickness.

any new thoughts?

1 rate user here, L'Ocean to be exact.

Especially with the hp buff, the ship feels more normal and realistic, and some type of battles require way more tactics and skills to be won without risking losing the ship.

Now I'm eagerly waiting to the rebalance for speed/ turn rate / sailing profiles.

then keep it as it is.  please don't start to rebalance everything again and again and again...

imho it really is just the wasa that, for a 3rd rate now, is a bit weak, the rest is fine and the changes result in interesting fights.

yes, thickness is good now ... please keep it

... a slightly adjustment of the BR of the ships would be good ... so every ship is worthy to play and plays a role in RVR ...

The Wasa-BR adjustment was a good beginning but the BR should be slightly different from a 3rd Rate 74

(... and btw. bring more 3rd rate into the game please)
