noo stahp. We need nations or else how to we justify historical setting and ships? It'd be silly.

Just allow clans to war each other in nation. Doing that you basically give clans full freedom, don't get rid of nations all together.

Who elects a certain clan the "one true Nation" ?...

Describe the mechanics, in detail, that permit such clan warfare to happen inside the basic game unit - nation.

ohh my god I already have but OK THIS IS THE LAST TIME.

No one does. Any one clan can become big enough/strong enough to have superior ability in combat to back up their reign as big clan of the nation who makes the most decisions. Why? Because they're they hold the majority of the organized population of the nation.

If they ever drop under the majority (which they eventually will because no empire last forever) then smaller clans will remove them from their throne. Thus, tyranny is shifted out, new order restored and all ports under competent clans who prove'd themselves as better than the others in their nation, therefore the best to take on any outside threat.

Does everyone understand this? Do I have to repeat myself again? S A N D B O X

Then, if a clan "sells" ports to another nation that clan just has to take the ports back.

Simple.

No need for a "sourcebook: rebellions" in addition to a clear system.

Lost them ? Take them back under you clan.

The devs have recognized the issue, and are resetting the ports during tonight's maintenance

Where did you get this information?  I've seen no mention of a port wipe.

Just for TDY ports. The original clan deleted all of their officers, I have word that devs are either making someone an officer who can close ports back, or doing it themselves. Either way tonight's maintenance will return the US coast to relative normalcy.

There are only two and as far as I know no other nation's have had this kind of special treatment... Are there members of the TDY clan left in the U.S. nation?  It was my understanding that if the owner of the clan leaves the nation that the ownership status is transferred to the next available member?

Sorry, I'm not really sympathetic since I'm playing for an "Impossible" nation and the U.S. coast line is an easy-mode morass of green zones uninterrupted by free ports... :P

The owner didn't leave, he kicked all of his officers and most of the members leaving about 4-5 guys in there who couldn't do anything, leaving the ports "afk" so to speak.

I'm not surprised the devs intervened. This is alt abuse on a clan level that should never go unnoticed, especially when it affects the very composition of the map. (the main objective of the game)

I'm still scratching my head as to why you didn't take Little River back though instead of crying to @admin?  As for the other two ports, is it really alt abuse if you still own the port?  Did they really defend it with just two guys?  I'm just very confused by the whole situation. Why didn't you ask a friendly nation to flip those ports and then you take them back?

In any case, I fail to see why it's that big of a deal... Compared to other nations you all have life easy. :P

So what happen at the port battle?  Heard it was 10 vs 8 with just a few showing and US couldn’t capture it.  Seems that is a US issue.  Maybe I should make a US alt and go flip that port and show y’all how to do it?

1. It's an abuse and loophole in the game. Not intended for "other nations" to do your work for you.

2. It's only TDY owned ports, not Russian port of LR.

Hire a "private company" to exert and extend your power to those areas.

Such as RN Admiralty relying a lot of East Company shipping for the far east territories during certain troubled times.

Simulate history a bit with some imagination and social aspects inherent to a multiplayer game.

Just giving out ideas and why they are according to age of sail history.

you have the wrong idea, this isn't some ideal opportunity to do diplomacy with other nations, this is a major annoyance on the player base. The leader is literally and alt who kicked everyone out of the clan while keeping his 3 ports open to all. Not that that's a huge deal to the PVP side of things..but it's certainly a bad look when all that trouble can be caused by a single salty player's actions. Not only to the nation, but all the people in that clan who were kicked for seemingly no reason getting blamed for what their leader was doing. It's completely toxic and in poor taste. I'm not against clever action to ensure victory, but this is malevolence and map/clan griefing  The devs were right to step in to put a handle on it. I hope they extend the same courtesy to other nations if/when this happens to them.

hello to all, 

I am the person responsible for this chaos they clearly cannot fix. we do not have alts or use alts. TDY was my clan i was leader.. when i left i passed leadership back to original Leader who in turn left an passed leadership to a a player who he deemed fit to lead TDY no tdy member was kicked but we did demote the officers as we felt they would abuse the clan warehouse.

making ports free for all is no exploit. players from TDY should of defended little river but they could not. US should of taken Little river from me after i took it, but they could not. 

please stop shouting exploit when the reason you are in this mess is simply because you are unable to fight 2 players.

it does not matter anyways, it seems you have requested the devs to intefere with gameplay. any more support required by US to fight 2 players??????? perhaps ban me too so you can recapture little river?

You were worried about them abusing the clan warehouse of a clan that you were leaving behind to go to another nation? A clan whose port you immediately turned around and attacked to take for yourself after deleting all other clans off of the friends list so they could have no help? Yes, your worry for old clan just radiates through your actions. And the players you do not trust are those previously entrusted as officers? 

Your lies are painfully easy to see through with the slightest modicum of intelligence. Troll elsewhere. This thread was started to discuss a game mechanic. Your personal role in a specific event is irrelevant.
