Patch 12. Caribbean invasion

Captains. 

The balance in the world is threatened. 3 nations invaded the Caribbean. Prussian, Russian and Commonwealth Navy was spotted in the Bahamas in the vicinity of Shroud Cay. 

Other news

  • Battle experience can be received for damage even if you did not kill the target. Prize money will remain on the traditional privateering "No prey No pay"
  • Tow to port added - players will be able to transport one ship per day instantly.
  • Hostility missions can be taken in free ports
  • Reinforcement zone slightly reduced
  • Improved national descriptions on the map
  • Tuned damage caused by ramming (almost removed it due to bugs with unity 5 physics)
  • Added surgeon button during boarding - surgeons could work during boarding and invisible button was unfair to those who did not know that. 
  • Fixed the bug causing incorrect number of resources produced in buildings
  • Fixed bugs with sails on Wasa

Do you think a doctor can make 100s of injured men battle-ready during boarding? Besides the realism its also a bad gamemechanic. Before that it was like: "Okay, I need to kill X crew so that I can win boarding." Thats not possible anymore when enemy has surgeon ready or if you dont know if he used it already.

Its a traditional naval game. Was very popular in the 18th century in dutch and royal navies

That would be what folks do any way, but I assume that would still give you very little xp as you honestly don't do much damage to sails.

 

@Ink @admin If I drop a clan tag so some one else can use it for another clan/nation how long does it take for that clan tag to be able to be used by the other player?   I had a clan tag on EU that I dropped so some good fellows can use it with the offer to trade it for use of it on GLOBAL where I play  any way.   Got to help out some Prussian's get there clan up and going.

Sounds good...sick of doing the right thing in PvP but no rewards.

There seems to be a MAJOR collision bug where ships 'explode' away from each other losing almost all their side and hull. I am sure one of the pirates can link you a vid !!

I don't like this game mechanic...you can  teleport a 1st rate before a PB or you can see a enemy fleet near your port and instantly telport here the perfect ship for catch them or join youre friends fleet with a iperspace 1st rate. I prefer the old mechanic with teleport after maintenance or some mimutes of cooldown.

Was the reinforcement size actually decreased or just redistributed? Can no longer reach Basseterre Town from Gustavia while being in the zone all the way (not that it matters since it's still so close that the tag timer will barely even end before reaching it anyways), but on the other hand the zone is increased on the north side to almost all the way to Marigot - before it didn't even reach Phillipsburg.

When did you play the game last time? That the savezone didn't even reach Philipsburg was before the savezone became so huge. Prior to patch 12.0 the savezone reached almost Hat Island ;)

Must've been awhile, and here I thought that it covering 70% of the Antilles was just said as a joke... Good thing I didn't waste my time playing then if that's what actually happened.
