question regarding choosing brigades for battle

On many scenarios I have more brigades than the scenario calls for.  Is there a way to make the selection of which brigades I want to participate rather than having the game choose for me?  Thanks in advance.

I don't know if there's a better way of doing this, but I've been dumping my spare brigades into a spare Corps that's not full of troops yet.

Right click on the brigade to move the brigade back to Army HUD.  Click on a bridge then click in the deploy zone to put down another.

If you are talking about the prebattle zone selection, then it is very easy as The Soldier explains. In the case of automatic placement, which happens in some battles, or reinforcements, the most surefire way to do it is to only bring as many brigades as the map allows, and only bring the ones you want (duh). How automatic deployment (rare) and reinforcements are determined is simply by the order they appear in your OOB. So the first brigade of the first division will spawn first, then the 2nd brigade, etc.
