Nuts behaviour of british captains at Port battle of Pinar del Rio

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I simply cannot understand why some idiotic english captains are shooting on each other in the port battle of Pinar del Rio yesterday. The consequences I draw out of this and my clan fellas  won't  attending in port battles anymore.

Cheers and good luck

Donjuan

You did not even try to cool the area, you thought that the Spanish would appear to be able to make your photo of your triumphant clone fleet?

:D:D:P

Wait seated.

It is a recurring theme that happens in empty Port Battles.

Whatever the reason, do not shoot at anyone who does not want to be shot at. Shoot at forts if you want to.

Simple courtesy, anything else is green-on-green.

Hard to blame captains that are told to sit for 30 minutes ducks and do nothing. 25 players expecting blood and fight need to wait... wait for screen displayed information that they won. Won what?

Next time upon received friendly fire, give a warning to the players shooting you. If warning won't solve the issue, report him to tribunal. That's a criminal act.

I'm pretty sure I'm responsible for encouraging others to shoot at each other and I think I did the first shot.

Sorry clan mate.

But why does it upset you so much? Repair cost of 500 Gold?

Na Christoph,

wenn einem die eigene AGGA um die Ohren fliegt, denkt man da wohl anders. Die Dinger kann man eben nicht von der Stange craften. Deine Argumentation ist leider etws kontraproduktiv

Actually, after that port battle, 2 Brits in Pirate Frigates decided to sink each other to deny us the cap/kill. I reported it but idk - will the devs even address that either?

Seems like Brits would sooner sink each other (green on green) than have anyone else do it. Bit of a c**tish thing to do seen as it is deliberately denying others from playing as intended for what? Because they couldn't be bothered to put up a fight? Why not just surrender?

Darum sind schon (fast) alle aktiven Member von britischen Clan's dort weg. Egozentrik und Disziplinlosigkeit sind an der Tagesordnung gewesen

Correct approach of mind indeed. Will agree with that, fight to the end...

But, if in continuous non stop interdiction and maybe, who knows, to deny the opponent "ego" something to chant victory over ?!...

It is as much powergaming as a lot of other actions undertaken by players... *sigh*... "as intended" is such a romanticized way to view things when seen from the outside...

Mutually agreed friendly fire is not considered a breach of rules as stated many times before.

I haven't seen it myself, but from what I heard these players were unable to fight because they ran out of repairs.

You can't understand one thing, you failed to capture them. It happens very often that players decide to turn off survival to deny the prize from their enemy and I don't want to bring "historical" accuracy here but it's valid tactic. I don't want my enemies to use my powerful ships full of best mods, right? Is it an "asshole" tactic? Yes. Is it valid? Yes. I've seen dozens of players do it, especially pirates in outlaw battles and I never complained about it, I see no problem with it even when my enemies deny their ships from me taking them.

No they were the pursuers and only decided to do it because we had set up a trap. They would have continued chasing us had we not had backup. We wanted to cap them, all we did was chain them. I think I got an assist because i let off one broadside before they had fully destroyed each other.

Yes, they chased 3-4 ships and got ambushed by 6. You say sinking each other to deny prize is not fair, I answer that ambushes are not fair. We are both right and these things are not meant to be fair :)

So something that historically never happened is the same as something that did? This is pretty much the running theme here...

Historically some captains could set their magazine on fire and let the ship explode.

...and that should be a perk, this is about green on green. Nice strawman.

You're a pirate, do you expect others to be gentle and polite towards you, kindly handing their ships to you?

No I expect a good fight to the end - all it takes to sink a rat is 1 or 2 good broadsides, easily done with 2 captains working together. Couple that with an unexpected boarding or 2 and it can easily be won. In the meantime a counter-trap can be set and everyone has a fun time.
