Cannon Size and effect on Sails?

Hey,

might sound odd to some people but I was wondering if bigger cannons, loaded with round shot, also have a greater effect on sails, or is the effect of 4pd cannons and 42pd the same as long as you shoot sails?

Additionally, has the cannon size any impact on chain-shot when you attack sails?

there is a base dmge modifier that comes in effect with every type of shot.

so a 4pdr does less dmge to hull and sails than a 42pdr
