tse.....

Did I say a bad word "about" Pagan Pete ?

No, I said the post is......which is....after 100 likes and "well done", very likely that a bad post happens.

Unable to take critics? 1 in 100?

But as it seems, you are the most feared Pirate, all backed up by what? Univ. ?

Well, are you going to compete in this field with me as you "failed" dramatically to give good arguments against my positions?

There are hundreds of good arguements in favour of deleting AI fleets, so are many in favour of keeping them.

But, as you go the "I am again I am I AM Pagan Pete" - route any reasoning will be in vain....

Yes you are right ! I agree to all what you say.

I have no experience in playing and observing theplay,

I obey !

>>If so many are complain that they want pyrates to act like real pyrates… then the AI fleets directly. I say  DIRECTLY prevent historically >>accurate piracy from taking place.

To pick on AI fleets to go away to make the game more historical accurate ?

All those arguments are "invalid" as long as you see a 24 - fleet of 1st rates sailing around.

You like it, others don´t.

Simple.

But those SOL's you mention Wilson are players from all side's looking for a large battle. The Trafalgar type battle that every player enjoys to be in. Totally different argument there. That has nothing to do with AI fleets issue. Lets not confuse the two sir.

AI fleets don't work when a player has them. It takes pirating right out of the game. If a pirate cannot attack lone player traders anymore because of fleets and we know because of history has told us, not all cargo shipping was escorted. In fact many sailed alone, hence privateering first by nations and next when privateering ended, came Pirating. What where all of those sailors to do but pirate to make a living.

If a player needs escort then request a player escort ot go it alone.

1. I was talking of 24 pirates in 1st rates.

2. I had the best battles WITH a trader + AI fleet being ganked by groups.

3. A lone trader being tagged is just boring as hell. Surrender, finish. Next trip.

The question is, who has to group up? The lone "hunter" or the lone "trader"?

All ships must be useful. Taking the extreme that everyone, but pirates, has fleets the simply BR of fore and aft ship choices stands no chance to even pulling anyone into battle.

Gladly, so far, that's not the case and it is fairly uncommon.

Problem are not the AI fleet, but intelligent game design.

Some traders should have a,b,c fleet only. Allow them to get 2 other trading ships into the fleet + hold + goods,

make it a high risk travel. I´d love it.

And? I cannot comment on warships + AI fleet.

Not enough experience on this topic.

But, I never tried.

I figured out before, will not work.

I'm no big trader but I must say that the fleet ships aren't that useful for defense while on a trading run.

Nobody want's to be caught alone in a trader and even with a fleet as defense the chances of making it are remote as the AI ships can't fight that well.

This is one of the reasons folk use the shipping system in free towns instead of using a more realistic way--sailing merchant ships.

I would rather be able to use a warship and be the security escort for my own loaded traders as a fleet.

That way not only my traders stand a better chance to survive an attack but also it's more fun for everyone. It would give traders a good incentive to become good fighters as well since they have something to loose and now would have the means to defend it.  Also if things go wrong you can't blame it on the AI ships but only on yourself.

So in short I would suggest the developers to allow loaded traders as a fleet. That would resolve some of the issues and add to the fun for sure.
