History of German Colonies in the Caribbean

I have been wondering if Game Labs will include a German faction in Naval Action. I know that they have included factions that had a presence in the Caribbean, Germany did have a few colonies there. I will give brief historiy of German colonies in the Caribbean, make a list of possible starting ports, and list some ships names.

Before the Prussian Empire, Germany was a collection of multiple different states, for example, the Hamburg Admaralty, or the Hanseatic City of Lubeck.

The German colonies in the Carribean were Little Venice (Venezuela), St. Thomas (Virgin Islands), Courland On Tobago, and Hanau, Guiana.

Klein-Venedig ("Little Venice") in Venezuela was the most significant German colony in the Americas, which lasted from 1528 to 1546. It was obtained by the Welser banking family in return for debts owed by Charles I of Spain. The city of Maricabiou was founded during the first exploration of Venezuela by the Germans. The colony would ultimately fail as a result of political issues between Spain and the Wesler's, as well as disease and Native American attacks.

Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, was leased by Brandenburg-Germany as a base in the Caribbean from the Danish West India Company, in 1693 the Brandenburg section of Saint Thomas was seized by the Danes. They were sold to the Dutch in 1718-21.

Courland, Tobago, The Duchy of Courland, was a German-led vassal state of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which leased New Courland on Tobago from the British. The colony failed and was restored multiple times. A final attempt to establish a Caribbean colony involved a settlement near modern Toco on Trinidad.

Hanau, Guiana, was founded, but never completed.

Starting ports could be

Brandenburg, on St. Thomas. Courland, on Tobago, or possibly Hanau, Guiana.

Here is my map of the locations of possible starting ports

NOT Maracabiou, as it was taken back by Spain before the time period of this game.

Ships

I have come across the Wappen Von Hamburg, 1722, post-22490-0-95411000-1461275896_thumb.jpg

there is some info here http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/3833-german-konvoiship-wappen-von-hamburg-iii/

If anyone can find more info on German ships of the age of sail, it would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt the Germans would be added, there's too many nations in game already. I would be ok with them replacing something that was less relevant in the Caribbean, but no more nations plz

I hear ya bro, what nation do you think it should replace? Sweden, Denmark

Before you include germans you probably have to include Italians, the Genovese had a quite a lot of colonies internalised within the Spanish and Portuguese empires as part thanks for the help during the exploration periods, they did by this point kind of get mostly absorbed into the empires proper by the vague point the game is set.

As a German I have to say:
Please, not a German nation in the caribbean.
During the time-frame of Naval Action the era of the Hanse being a naval and trading greatpower was well over and serious naval reconstruction was not started before the unification of Germany in 1871.

The only thing that could be viably added would be "European Traders" sailing in from the open sea to Free-Towns and Capital-Cities wearing the flaggs of Hamburg, Prussia, Russia, ... consisting out of huge traders with Bellonas as biggest escort-ships in size.

As a playable player-faction?
No, sorry.

We can just play as Swedish then...
