  1. Legends Server Time

Hey everyone! Good morning! I have a question... does anyone know the exact times wen the Legends server goes up? Or arent there really exact times? Because yesterday it was almost not online... but the day before that it was the whole time online.. and now it has not bin online.. and i want to play legends , so does anyone know? ?
  2. Children in game.

Hello everybody. I wanted to tell you guys something. Once i started to play naval action [ a few years ago ] they told me that i am the first kid here. At first i was afraid.. what might people say? What might they think of me? As some of you may know , i have showed bad attitude a few years ago sometimes. I was angry... and did not have myself under controlle. I have improved though. Allthough , i am still a kid [14 years old]. Looking at my school , there are bullies. Most kids put a mask [ figurely ] on and they act like they are cunts. They are mean to people , they bully , they lie , they stab eacother in the back. I see it happening in school everyday. After a year.. i desided that i never wanted to see a kid in naval action. The reason is because they will put that mask on again [ figurely]. They are insecure and they are afraid of adults. I have seen that they are.. they barely dared to talk to parents from eachother. So they will do those things i have said before here too. Now lets get to the point here , i think this community is lovely , sweet people , nice people , if you are reading this , you are awesome , know that. But kids will destroy this community. Yesterday in the evening i was in a naval action legends battle. On 2 sides the battle was going on. I left from the right side to the left side to help my friend out , he asked if i could help him defeat a brig. After that.. wen the fight was almost over.. i almost won..then there was this one person.. who went for the cirkel and won because of taking the cirkel. He said: HAHAHAHAHHA! MORON! I asked him why he didnt fight.. and why he fled from battle. Then he lied by saying this: YOU WERE THE ONE RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME MORON! From this moment on i knew he was a kid. Normally... after i win or after i get beaten.. i say: good battle! Good job! Well played mate! But this kid attacked me right away..[with words]. After that i was annoyed and wanted to make sure that this awesome community will not fall because of kids who are triggered. After that me and Liq spoke about it in the chat or a short while. He said this: Dont worry Timo , these kids just go here and see its not a simple CoD were you get everything you want in one day , they will all leave soon. Allthough many will join right now because of legends.. but they will leave soon. [I have asked Liq if i was allowed to say his name]. I gotta say: I hope he is right. First of all i do think he is right , kids want simple games they can compleet in a few days. But i also hope he is right... otherwise kids are gonna destroy this community with their cruel behavior. They will take any chance to bring you down if that makes them better. I am not saying all kids are like this , because not all kids are like this. And i would be happy if those kids who are not like this would join our community.. but those who are like this.. i hope they will leave soon. I love this community and i love the people here. I dont want you guys to get your feelings hurt by some stupid kids. I just wanted to say this to you guys.. have a great day .
  3. Naval Action on Youtube

--A thread for all Naval Action YouTubers to post their video content.-- Firstly, I would like to congratulate the Developers of Naval Action for some truly splendid footage! For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, Game Labs has released some new videos to Youtube. They are between 15-30 seconds each, so I highly recommend you check them out in full HD! The Official Naval Action YouTube Channel can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Navalaction Secondly, feel free to share your own videos of NA!
  4. Volunteers for His Majesty’s Royal Danish-Norwegian Navy Ahoy Captains! This is for PVE recrutment. To all there are sailing under the flag of Denmark-Norway. Our Royal Danish-Norwegian Navy we hope you will sign up with us. We are now 20 members, we help each other as much as it is possible. [RDNN] - The Royal Danish-Norwegian Navy, a company of brave sailors flying the white cross, is recruiting. We want all able captains and friendly sea creatures to join our ranks. When you join you will find we are a social group and you will find brothers in arms as well as good friends. We are an international clan with members from all over the world and English is our primary language for communication. Members of RDNN are required to use TeamSpeak when participating in group events where orders and coordination are necessary components. We respect that players are different in their desire to communicate, and we do not strictly require that you talk a lot, so long as you are able to listen when instructions are given. We look forward to sailing by your side. May the winds blow in your favour.
  5. An app to access our NA account and check timers, labour-hours, communicate with clan, craft and so on. Build-in account security key so we could have a 2-step confirmation when logging in, more secure and could be gateway to control the amount of alts.
  6. it begins today. Are you tired of the game you bought and paid for no longer being FUN to play, why is it not fun you might say; a. massive timesink - the only people that will sail big ships and be able to afford repairs etc will be those in large clans who bypass most of the problems through volume, the solo casual player has no options except to buy multiple accounts if he/she wants to sail anything bigger than a belle poule. b. Grind, grind and more grind - the game know has grind in its very lifeblood, driving players away, forcing players to grind the same content over and over again until all joy is sucked out of the OW -the dementor syndrome (HP Fans) c. Voice not being listened to - When did you last feel a change was made to the game that made it better, gave you better quality of life in game than before and was not shouted down by the hardcore pvp realism armchair admirals. d. Choices should be optional - If I want teleport - option on/off, if I want navigation grid and position - option on/off, if I want deliveries - option on/off. If some armchair admiral wants to play the game sitting in his rocking chair outside with the fan blowing full in his face and his neighbour spraying him with a garden hose while he pukes in a bucket to simulate "realism" - no there should not be an option for this but he can go right ahead and do it but stop letting his quest for realism ruin my game. e. Make things easier for new players - Please realize without an influx of new players this game dies, it becomes stale, it loses new ideas and inputs and becomes a fanboi product with people who ram their version of this is how it should be played down everyones throat. f. Fix the economy - Econ does not work, either fix it for the small playerbase that plays this game or return it to where it was when npcs sold stuff, g. Devs stop listening to just the hardcore, realism fanbois - you have an entire different type customer out here that you pretty much ignore, and all he wants is a game he can play casually and have some fun. h. The game will lose all these hardcore pvp monkeys to Arena mode, please ignore everything they say about developing this game - wake up and smell the coffee, these guys need to be preening their plumage and leeting it up all the time you really think they will stay fully active on OW where it will take an hour to get a fight when they can be demonstrating how leet they are in Arena mode every 20 mins and will probably have some sort of leet pvp leaderboard so they can show pics to their friends and family. There are many more reasons for MNAFA but I will begin it with the reasons outlined above. Start to insist that the devs MNAFA from today, reclaim the game from the crazies and lets get the game we want, a fun, engaging, age of sail mmo not the mess that it has become. Add MNAFA to your post, +1 this thread, like this post, lets see where this goes. Maybe just maybe there are enough who feel annoyed like me to begin something if not then at least i tried.
  7. Issue#2: July 15th (click the pictures and select fullscreen to enlarge) Issue#1: May 24th This is the inaugural issue of The St. Croix Royal Gazette. (click the pictures and select fullscreen to enlarge) It is my attempt at creating a role-play newspaper for the PvP EU server with help from @Cornelis Tromp. The newspaper will contain Naval Action news, role-play, advertisements, historical references and any other content that I deem fitting. I will try to keep this newspaper going for a long time, and to keep it regularly updated. I will not commit to a specific timetable for delivery of issues however. My goal is to keep the newspaper especially apprised of RvR developments. While the title of the paper suggest the Danish connection, I hope that it will be a worthwhile read for any captain of any nation in Naval Action. Anyone on the server are welcome to request the placement of advertisements in the Gazette. You can design your advertisement yourself, or I can do it to your specifications. Advertisements could be for selling items in-game, offering services, looking for a clan or a clan recruiting members. Anything you could think of that is game-related. The Newspaper title and design is strongly inspired by the historical Danish West Indies newspaper «The St. Croix Gazette», briefly named the «The Royal St. Croix Gazette». It was also published for a time under the name «Dansk Vestindisk regierings Avis». For a long time it was named the «Royal Danish-American Gazette». To avoid confusion with the same role-play newspaper by @Niels Terkildsen I chose a different name. You can find his great Newspaper here: It is what I try to emulate and aspire towards. I am attempting to mix historical accuracy, role-play and game-references. None of which will be fully accurate nor is that the intention. I will try to adopt a somewhat realistic language of the period, though this is a very tough challenge that hopefully I can aspire towards as I get more experience creating new issues. For my Newspaper I chose to use a 220 year date conversion. A bonus from this is that the weekdays in the year 1797 correspond exactly to the days of the week in 2017. This first issue is meant to play on the fact of today’s wipe. Therefore several references are made to it. I use the metaphor of a Hurrican hitting the Caribbean to this effect. To reinforce this I have printed a copy of a letter from the American statesman and Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. He grew up in the West-Indies, and he lived in St. Croix part of the Danish West Indies when a terrible hurricane hit the islands in 1772. He wrote a letter which was printed in the Royal Danish-American Gazette, and caused the merchants of Christianstæd to take up collection to send the young boy to the American colonies to get an education. There he became one of the most important figures in American history. I hope that you will enjoy reading my newspaper. I will keep this topic and OP updated with all the issues I produce. You are welcome to subscribe to the topic. Any contributions are also welcomed. Also feedback and tips on improvements.

  11. Latest Episode of: Pirate Chronicles Naval action posted on you tube: Laugh at a noob trying to learn to play the game properly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzZKtrMsce8 Cheers
  12. Hi, I've put together a few youtube videos of me learning to play Naval Action. I am pretty noob so don't be expecting to learn a great deal from these if you are an experienced player already. It's just a record of someone new to the game gradually trying to learn how to play properly (and I'm defo not there yet!) and how the game seems from the perspective of a newer player. If you are new to the game there might be a few bits of useful info you can pick up. Bear in mind that episodes 1-3 are pre-10.0 patch so some of the info will be redundant now. Episode 4 is a relatively comprehensive explanation of a lot of the 10.0 patch changes, so could hopefully be useful for anyone. I've made them for a bit of a laugh, only because I enjoy making them and learning to use the video editing software, so it's all just for fun (I honestly couldn't care less how many views I get) but someone commented and kindly said they enjoyed them and suggested I post them here, so I have linked Episode 1-4 below and will update whenever I upload a new episode. If anyone gets some useful information or a bit of entertainment from them, then that's an added bonus for me. Any comments on the videos and/or any of the game mechanics I might not have fully understood are welcome, as are links to relevant learning resources. Hope you enjoy them:
  13. Hi guys, I have been playing this game since Sea Trials and I really enjoy it. Unfortunately, the latest community rage and the whole aggression between some of its members and developers forced me to write my opinion and thoughts about that. I hope some of you will agree with me and let them do their job as they intended to... Whole article was published here: http://www.gamepressure.com/e.asp?ID=1448

  16. After waiting days In Port Carlisle for the prices of my investment in Lancashire Iron to improve I set out in my trader Brig for Port Morant. I had my head up was watching vigilantly. I noticed a small Pirate Lynx that passed me heading west as I rounded the point east of Carlisle. She came about and shadowed me to our stern on our heading. With my fleet of a cutter and lynx and the proximity of several healthy British war ships, and our capital, I was not seriously concerned about the little pirate. Then as I was on approach to Morant ... a Trincomalee charged out from Port Royal our west bearing down on us. From the Ships Log DAY 1 13:30hr 22:05rt Steady w-WNW Pirate Lynx bearing E - Heading E on our stern. She maintained this course and steadily gained. After a few hrs a Pirate Trincomalee also came up fast from west out of the the inside passage (SE of Port Royal) It was Blackjack Morgan. He slowed on approach to match my slower speed and engaged. First as I sat with no canvas he did nothing. Then as I started to move he fired some shot into my sails I ordered my fleet to escape and dropped my sails. Morgan approached our portside for boarding and I ordered all crew to the sails and repair. In spite of the horrendous damage to the sails they repaired them with lightning speed as if by magic. Ordering full sails I tried first bearing away to the east but the Trincomalee was much too fast so I turned to starboard and tested the ship on a beam reach. Still we were much much slower. Then Morgan connected a volley with our main mast and carried her away. We hailed him and indicated that we surrender and he replied to do so formally. We did. And In a heartbeat I was alone on the ocean. My ship, my fleet and Morgan was gone. My losses were very high. Over $200,000 which is the majority of my investment. I have not counted the losses to manpower. (Officers and crew). Now although I blame myself entirely, I do wonder if it does not seem reasonable to expect some level of protection in the home waters so close to our Capital. Are these pirates permitted to operate with total impunity, entirely unopposed.

  19. The Steam Awards - Nomination

First off i'm not telling you to vote or how to vote as this is completely voluntary. I am only wishing to act as an advocate to the game in hopes to see our game population increase. Steam is hosting their annual "The Steam Awards" to be decided this December and there are multiple game categories. http://store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations/ I felt that this is a way that we, the Naval Action community could drum up some support to a game we all enjoy. Visit a game’s store page to nominate it for an award. The “Test of Time” Award This award is for the game that is just as good today as the day you first played it. Newer games may come out, but it doesn’t matter… you’ll always come back to play this one. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “I'm Not Crying, There's Something In My Eye” Award Games are fun. But sometimes games become more than that, and touch you in a way you weren’t expecting. This award celebrates the game that blindsided you emotionally. You weren’t expecting to cry. It wasn’t in the plan. But it happened none the less. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award You have an early day tomorrow. You need to get some sleep, so you’re just going finish one more thing before you decide to tuck in for the night. Just one more. Wait, one more. What’s that you say? It’s 2:30 AM? This award is for the game that keeps you playing late. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award Some games melt your face. Maybe it was a crazy plot twist. Maybe you just got your wisdom teeth removed. Either way, this game BLOWS YOUR MIND. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award Some people just need a hug. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “Game Within A Game” Award Kinder Eggs. Peanut Butter Cups. Jelly Donuts. All great things stuffed with other great things. Like a mighty turducken, this award celebrates the best mini game hidden within another game. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award This title didn’t have a huge marketing machine behind it, but you found it and loved it. Then you told your friends about it. And they loved it. And now that little game that could is about to win an award… but always remember: you totally found it first. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “Best Use Of A Farm Animal” Award Animals are rad and almost any game is better for including them. However this game used a farm animal in the best way possible. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store The “We Didn’t Think Of Everything” Award (*name pending Selection Committee Decision) There are as many great ideas for awards as there are great games to play. And so we turn to the Steam Awards Selection Committee to come up with their own category and nominee. Senior members of the Selection Committee will review the write-in entries and create an entirely new category based on the feedback provided. Find a game to nominate in this category: Search in the Store
  20. Remove open world completly

my suggestion is to remove the open world feature completly. It just cripples the game in thermes of pvp. You need a 1st/2nd rate to have good fights. What made me buy this game was the youtube vids of epic pvp battles with all kind of ships. That dont happen anymore.Open world cripples this game imho. I rather have a lobby system again where people fight in the way its meant to be. MAKE NAVAL ACTION GREAT AGAIN!
  21. Naval Action - OS

Hello everyone I´m new in this forum and I have a question about the requirements for download Naval Action. I have a Windows 7 with a 32 bits of OS, could i play this game? I readed in Steam that it requires a 64 bits of OS, but, also it said that 32bit OS versions are possible but not supported. What does this mean? Can I play then or not? I appreciate your assistance.
  22. Today, the Denmark-Norway faction on PvP1 assaulted Oranjestad, and as of this writing the battle is sill ongoing and not yet decided. This is not a post of whiny unfairness (such as the "We can't autowin with 3rd rates anymore"-thread), but rather a look at mechanics currently in game and how they are contributing to unfun game play and in some cases resulting in exploits. The beginning of this thread is the fact that when the Danish attacked Oranjestad today, their entire fleet of 3rd rates sailed right past a well prepared blockade fleet, without any chance for us to engage them due to their invulnerability timer. And when I say "no chance" I mean that in the mathematical sense. The formula: invulnerability time + time to engage(20s) > time to sail from Fort Baii to Oranjestad, simple maths making it entirely impossible to stop any ship willing to enter the port battle from just docking at Fort Baii before sailing there. This pushed me over the edge and I decided to create this thread. I had prepared for 30 mins to intercept their fleet and yet despite doing everything right and being in the perfect position, there was nothing I could do. From this experience I have a couple of suggestions: The invisibility timer should be removed once you raise your sails. This allows you to pick a direction and then speed away, while giving some much needed grace time for slower machines. The invulnerability timer when undocking should be a maximum of 15 seconds. Should you undock into a world of s**t then you can always just dock up again. The radius for entering a Port battle should be lowered to a range requiring you to actually be close to the port. Currently in the Swedish nation we have a serious problem with lower end ships entering port battles. This kills the port battle as a well organized fleet of 3rd rates won't care about a few Cerberuses, and with current BR mechanics they take up valuable space needed to maintain the BR difference. My suggestions for an overall improvement of Port Battles are: Change the BR difference system entirely into a ticket system. Each team has x tickets, lose a ship, lose y tickets. If your tickets are at 0, too bad, you lose. Larger ships lose more tickets for your team. (The important bit here is that your Cerberus might sink, but if it is worth a 10th of a 3rd rate then whatevs.) Allow for assault fleets to be formed using a group system where the flag carrier can form a "raid group" (see the solution of raid groups in MMOs like World of Warcraft) containing 25 people in total. These people are given priority to join the port battle, preventing randoms from sneaking spots from an organized assault. (The raid group should also have its own chat once formed, allowing "raid leaders" to communicate with a fleet of randoms easily.) A "Quick fix" for the BR gaming currently abused with under crewed 3rd rates is to scale the BR with the undercrewed penalties. And now for the general over world PvP experience. Reinforcements are the most unfun mechanic I've seen in a long time, it completely discourses people to actively engage the enemy anywhere near their territory except for in missions. People engaged in missions often have no other option then to abandon their mission as they can not call for help. My suggestions for general over world PvP fixes would be: Remove AI reinforcements everywhere but in the immediate area around ones capital. Should an enemy join your mission, convert it to a mission open to your friendly faction for 10 mins. Mark battles that has fleet members in them with red swords instead of the regular ones. Add a limited time to the post battle screen, currently it is possible to sit in it seemingly forever. (Id suggest something akin to 3 mins.) Finally I would like to add that regardless of what I have written here the devs should follow their own minds and plans. I know from experience that players writing design suggestions on forums often miss core values of a game or lack an understanding of how systems are built into each other to create a whole. And as always there is the most precious commodity, time to be spent on implementation, and there I can't give you any guidance (Or well, I could, but you would have to hire me )
  24. With Early Access on the horizon, there are still many new captains out there who wish to take command of a vessel in Naval Action. Some are coming from a blank slate; expecting anything from the game, whereas others are coming from other Age of Sail MMOs, most notably Pirates of the Burning Sea. To better introduce these captains to Naval Action and to give them a brief gimps as to how NA measures up to PotBS, I have compiled this somewhat brief collection of the most notable differences between the two games. 1. Naval Combat. As this is the centerpiece for Naval Action, it is expected that there will be striking differences between the NA and PotBS combat systems. Manual Cannons- In PotBS, cannon accuracy was dictated by percentages. All you needed to do was get the target ship into your cannon's arcs and then mystical algorithms would determine you accuracy percentage based on your speed, distance from target, shot accuracy, and other things. All the player had to do was press the "Fire!" button and the computer would do all the work. Not so in Naval Action. Almost everything is at the control of the player; you aim the guns, set their target distance, and their arc. Unlike in PotBS, you must also adjust for your ship's roll/tilt, meaning that an ill-timed shot could lead to a cannonball hitting the water or sailing over the enemy deck. this also means that should some guns go below the waterline, they will not be able to shoot (mostly on larger vessels). Manual control also means that your view determines accuracy, meaning that something like smoke can block the view of your target (In PotBS, smoke A: dissipated in seconds, unlike in NA, and B: would not have been calculated in the accuracy percentage), This is a much more in-depth system, and while it may seem intimidating at first, it creates a much more interesting and dynamic experience compared to a point-and-shoot system like PotBS. Demasting- In PotBS, demasting was a simple practice; all you had to do was load anti-sail shot and fire until the enemy's sails went down to zero. Again, not so in NA. Here, you have two options: De-Sailing and De-Masting. Desailing is more akin to PotBS Demasting; using chain-shot, you shred the enemies sails until they are useless. However here, you must manually aim at each individual sail to disable it. Once a sail is shredded, continuing to shoot it will not reduce the enemy's sail % further, you will have to target a new sail. This means that if you are too close, hitting a ships higher sails and gallants may not be possible. Next we have De-Masting, in which you literally attack the mast itself instead of the sails. This is very difficult as it requires extreme accuracy in targeting the enemy ship's masts and hitting them with round shot (not chain). While more difficult, this technique can slow down a ship much faster as it takes away a chunk of sail % instead of slowly eating away at it. Combat Sailing- In PotBS, sailing was simple: green means fast, red means slow. Turning into and through the wind was simple. Your only control's were the rudder and ship speed. In NA, this is taken a step further with the Manual Sails mechanic, in which you control your ship's masts individually (fore and main mast on 2 masted ships, Fore and Main+mizzen on 3 masted ships). This allows you to utilize the wind for better maneuverability in battle. While it is not necessary to sail, it is vital for maneuvering quickly and efficiently in battle. Ship "Health"- In PotBS, the ship's health was ultimately dictated by how much "integrity" it had. If integrity hit 0, the ship is sunk. Integrity would not be damaged unless the armor was first weakened in a similar fashion. In NA there is no integrity, but there is armor. Armor in NA acts almost identically as it does in PotBS, However after armor is shot away, that's where the similarities end. A ship is sunk in NA one of two ways. Either it goes up in smoke (more on that later), or it sinks due to leaks. Leaks are just as they sound, various breaches in the ship that water is seeping through. The more water you take on, the slower your ship sails, and the lower in the water it gets. Fill up with water and your sunk. More leaks means faster water leakage. Less armor means more likelihood of leaks. Ship Collisions- In PotBS, colliding ships was a simple love-bump that at the best would simply have a "thud" sound effect, and at worst might simply knock you off your course. No damage. In Naval Action, ship collisions can be deadly. Collisions can result in large amounts of damage, loss of masts, and leaks. Lots of leaks. Boarding Combat- Here's a big one. At the moment, there is no avatar-combat in NA. Boarding is dictated by a sort of Rock-Paper-Scissors mini-game. Crew #, Moral, and preparation all determine what "Attacks" you can use. 2. Open World The OS systems for PotBS and NA work pretty much the same: you have your ship on the OS with faster sailing, and enemies you can "tag" to bring into combat instances. There are ports, however unlike PotBS, access is restricted on which you can enter. The biggest difference between the OS systems is the sheer difference in size; the NA open world is massive. what would have taken a couple minutes to travel in PotBS you would be luck to sail in an hour or two (maybe even more!). This means there is a ton to explore, and it gives you a grand feeling of openness that something like the Caribbean should.5. Port Battles I am not well versed in PBs atm, so some assistance here would be appreciated. PBs are relatively new to NA, however the process of creating and fighting them are different. In NA, port conquests are started by purchasing a "Conquest flag, which vary in price depending on which port you are attacking. The PB's themselves atm are rather simplistic; a combat instance with the presence of a few Martello Towers (basically small gun forts). Destroy these and the enemy and you win.4. Avatars This is often a big selling point and/or deal-breaker for many. But at the moment, NA does not have an Avatar system; you cannot walk around a port like you do in PotBS. This is mainly due to the fact that the devs are directing all their resources to the combat and OS systems. And considering the differences I have discussed concerning the combat system, that's understandable. Naval Combat is the focus of NA and that's where they are putting most of their work. At this time, the devs have been on the fence (publicly) as to if Avatars will be developed for this game or a later iteration. TL;DR: I like to use this analogy of the NA and PotBS: World of Tanks is to WarThunder what PotBS is to Naval Action. PotBS is more fast paced and is more of a quick shoot-em-up style. Little to worry the player other than getting guns on the target. NA on the other hand throws a few more variables at the player, making the experience more interesting and dynamic. Some may not like this increased realism/difficulty, however for others it's just what the doctor ordered. If you have anything to add please comment, all help is appreciated. Cheers,
  25. Hi all, So my first post here, and I thought I would share some of my favourite naval books along with authors. Some excellent reading to get us into the mood for this game when its out. Please feel free to post any further materials which may interest others, but I would appreciate it if we could keep it on topic First and foremost, my favourite author at the moment. Julian Stockwin - The Kydd series, and excellent first book Kydd sets the tone for what is a brilliantly written ongoing series of books about Kydd a Wig Makers son from Guildford who gets caught up by the Royal Navy press and taken aboard a ship of the line as a land lubber and through sheer grit and determination makes his was aft of the mast the hard way. Alairc Bond - A relative newcomer I guess to the naval action area, The Fighting Sail series are an excellent read and well worth picking up. Douglas Reeman (Alexander Kent) and the Bolithio series, again an excellent set of books about Richard Bolithio who coming from a wealthy family works his was up from a Midshipman to an Admiral in 30 books, really an excellent read. That's all I have for now, I do have many more in my personal library for example Drinkwater (Series) and the Adam Pascoe (Series) they are characters in the books, I cannot remember the authors off the top of my head at the moment and my little un is wanting to play truck simulator So if you have any authors you'd like to share feel free to do so. Keep on topic though. Im looking for more reading material while waiting for the game to hit Early Release on Steam All the best, Wes Aka Datamonkey
