  1. nevermind, problem seems to be at my end. After restarting Steam it downloaded patch again and now NPCs work correctly.
  2. ... and basically anything from Two Steps From Hell
  3. I don't know about crafting timers in this game ... there is really A LOT of different things you need to craft if you want to make a ship for example and even 12 consecutive production runs wouldn't get you very far (and would be even bigger problem before you'd get crafting high enough to get the 12max). In some cases you craft end-product directly, for many things you nees one or more middle steps, with many of those mid-products not only needed as resource for further part production, but also needed directly for ship production. Just look at the eighth circle of hell that is crafting anything needing iron ingots / iron fittings, if you want to build even a small ship it is crazy how many production runs you'd need before you manufacture just the items that need iron somewhere in the production chain. And in this game players spend lots of time sailing somewhere far away from their outpost / prouduction center and then they can't really manage production without having to spend a lot of time having to run back to their production harbor (or teleporting). maybe having timers for big things like ship construction or ship upgrades, but leaving the "small item" production as instant crafting ...
  4. I'm fairly new player, so right now repair kits are pretty expensive for me because I don't have much reserve gold and what gold I have I need (want) to use on more important things than convenient repairs on the sea. But I see why the sort of high cost of repair kits is necessary ... thanks to the fact that crew regenerates after every battle and "time at sea" doesn't mean anything, the ship repairs are the only limiting factor (and cargo space for loot I guess) for staying on the sea. If you just go for traders that don't / can't fire back then you can capture dozen of them without ever needing to go back to port. With cheaper repair kits it would be pretty much the same thing even when attacking warships, which wouldn't be good. Four repair kits repair your ship to 100% condition, immediately, with no drawback other than the cost. As convenience items for situational use repair kits are good, but they shouldn't be the default go-to option for repairing ship and the price takes care of that. I'd even be in favor of adding a timer for the repair kit usage on open world map that would prevent instant repair in a few clicks. And maybe even cap the maximum you can achieve by repairs on the sea at 75% (100% repair only available if you sail to harbor and repair your ship there)
  5. really cool looking maps, thanks for the tip right now I'm using online map for measuring distance, and for now I'll probably stick with it because it also allows for sort-of waypoints. But both alt-tabing from game and/or using Steam overlay really breaks immersion (although I admit the map in steam overlay less so). That is why I'd like to have scale and measuring tool in the game map. Hopefully showing the scale somewhere in the corner of map shouldn't be too big of a problem to implement (and having any sort of map without scale is just really wrong), just something that would allow us to roughly eyeball short distances. As for the measuring tool, while I hope that devs would later add a few more tools for navigation and course planning, the simple measuring tool would give player enough information for longer distances cases where guesstimating the distance based on map scale isn't good enough. As I said, nothing advanced, just straight line distance between two points on map.
  6. two suggestions: 1) map deffinitely needs visible scale, if possible one that changes with zoom levels. It is really annoying having to alt-tab out of the game and go to online map every time I want to find out distances. 2) it would be really great to add some form of simple measuring tool. Select two points on map and it tells you distance between them. Nothing fancy, no waypoints or course plotter, just straight distance how far point X is from point Y.
