  1. Dutch Republic: It does look like the girl in the middle is braking in half....
  2. Yep, they did. An even today you are able to make a lot of money with them. But ... a parody is a parody. ^^
  3. Dutch (Tulip-maniacs): Those captains who declare themself as dutch are usually traders with a hang to hoard gold. Aparenly there is one thing they are chasing after even with more conviction than gold - it's tulips. In all variants and colors they come and are a perfect bait no dutch captain can resist. Just put a Lynx filled with tulips on a reef and soon it is swarmed by those flower maniacs. They'll even try to cross the waters with clogs, though none were successful so far imitating Jesus. Join if: You prefer to maniacly water your tulips instead of defending yourself against pirates.
  4. Yeah, that could be done with those navigation tools on the map. Just plot the course and an estimate with average wind conditions will be shown.
  5. There is a free map... g****e maps ^^ I do hope there wont be a map where you do see everything. I see maps more like something explorer will create while exploring some waters. So they should be able to sell those maps and such map is completing you own map set. But it is only static and not showing any map updates. So if a city got sacked by Spain and you didn't get an update of the map where the city is Dutch, you might have a problem at hand. Furthermore it will be nice if you would be able to use geometric tools on the map to plan your own routes etc. If someone else did suggest something like this before, i apologize for having the same idea.
  6. There was a forth and last Wapen von Hamburg as a sailing ship, built in 1740 which was classified as a frigate with 50 cannons.
  7. Here are some plans of the Wapen von Hamburg, it seems to be the first one. It has a lot of similarities as the Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde.
  8. Well, the ship itself was built in Pillau and finished in Königsberg (both Prussia) by a dutch shipbuilder named Gillis C. Peckelhering. So it is a definately a ship with dutch design.
  9. A shame that there aren't many ships to mention in those centuries from the german states, but at least the Wapen von Hamburg was a nice ship. I'd dream to see her in the game - one will suffice there don't have to be all four variants The first three were convoi ships and the fourth a frigate. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wapen_von_Hamburg_(1669) http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wapen_von_Hamburg_(1686) http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wapen_von_Hamburg_(1722) http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wapen_von_Hamburg_(1740)
