  2. Hello Everyone! I am pleased to announce the first community ran tournament for Early Access Ultimate General: Gettysburg! The Format is as follows: 8/23/2014 5pm - ??? EST 1v1 Battle of McPherson Ridge Best out of 3 (Coin Toss Determines Faction Choice) Single Elimination Prize: ????? Rules: YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE FRIDAY THE 22ND Faction choices are determined by coin flip, Winner of coin flip chooses faction for first game. The players then switch sides and play again, if a game 3 is necessary the loser of initial coin flip chooses side. WINNERS OF COIN TOSS MAY SELECT THEIR FACTION FOR GAME 3 INSTEAD OF GAME 1 IF THEY DESIRE. Both players MUST report a screen shot of the final victory screen to the tournament organizer (vVvRickter) Players with the ability to record game play will be given registration priority. Any claims of "Abuse" Glitching or Bugs in the game must be backed up with Screenshots or Video. HAVE FUN! From what I understand you have been playing on the first map, This map is completley imbalanced in my oppinon (which is expected of a "Historical" Scenario) Try playing the other map the "META" is ALOT different and more balanced. What I notice playing the "2nd" map most players Run their troops to the ridge at the start of the game. I have been letting them take the ridge and when they move their cannons up to the ridge attack before they are set in place. That is pretty much it, Just direct attack the ridge and win. This has not failed me yet. You seem like someone I want to play with, shoot me a message and we can set a game up!
  4. I have completed a few multiplayer games with out incident (BIG IMPROVEMENT FROM BETA). I am starting to become concerned with the "feel" of multiplayer. The games pretty much end up going the same exact way every game, as a very experienced RTS player I was constantly paranoid about units sneaking behind me, It never EVER happens. Why I think this is the case is because of the size of the map or possibly the line of sight. I can constantly see everything on the map which leaves no element to surprise. Or possibly because the units are limited to brigades instead of being able to detach regiments and sneak around flanks etc. TLDR: Multiplayer is playing very slow and predictable. ability to control individual regiments and or increasing FOG of war may help this issue.

  6. First, They have indeed already confirmed a multiplayer. Quick battles are a thing in every other RTS game I have ever played, and they never EVER are "redundant". each game is different and plays out different. Most serious players I am sure would find the ai "secrets" in a few short weeks of playing seriously. The ability to play against other players will add additional aspects to the game that would otherwise be unavailable in single player vs AI.
  7. Possibly then have a "Home Base" type area where you units can go back and restock for a few seconds/minute, Then they can rejoin the fight.
  8. The addition of possibly a "Supply wagon" That can be captured by enemies could add a really cool addition to the game. It would make fights very interesting, imagine moving a unit around the enemy to possibly flank, the draw back is the supply wagon would be very hard to reach that unit if it runs out of ammo, leaving it cut off from supplies and needing to retreat to a safe spot to resupply.
  9. I have been following this game for a while, seeing the trailer brought back a huge amount of emotions from growing up playing Gettysburg! In Gettysburg there was a very strong competitive scene, The issue the competitive scene ran into was extreme unbalanced in certain maps such as Attack on Little Round Top etc. In order to combat this we had a gathering of players that set what we called "Gentlemens rules" where we had to enforce rules such as map vetoing and so forth. This turned into a giant pain in the neck. I was wondering if the Dev had any plans on create a multiplayer mode for competitive play to even out balanced maps and regiments and so forth so the "unwritten rules" were not nessecary, possibly create a "Realism Multiplayer Mode" and a "Competitive Multiplayer Mode" ?
  10. I would love to beta test this game! I have been following the devolpment quietly and would love the opportunity to check this game out! I grew up playing games like Sid Meirer's Gettysburg and Antietam. I have beta tested numerous games ranging from random greenlight games to alpha and technical alpha testing for blizzard entertainment games as well as other companies. I have not been as excited for a game in a very long time, and feel I can provide the feedback and criticism nessecary to make sure this game reaches the potential it has. I have multiple machines with very different specs to assist me in the testing as well. Thank you
