  1. My overall experience in land battles has been horrible. I'm amazed how bad it is compared to UGCW. I keep hoping they just threw some garbage out there to tide us over until the game is finished and then put something in there that is worth doing. I really wish you could just skip the Land Battles, they are too tedious and so broken. Again compared to the masterpiece that was UGCW Its not about difficulty they are just bad. Everything moves clunky. flanks are difficult to figure out. Units retreat straight forward often. Sound doesn't really help as you can't tell who is firing or hear cannons sometimes. Even just trying to move troops is very awkward. Hate to complain but its really bad. Has this been addressed at all?
  2. Pandakraut, how do you reduce the costs of ship upkeep each turn other than selling ships? Is there an admiratly perk you can add points into to do this? Is there a guide to all the career points? I can't figure out what admiralty assortment does either.
  3. LOL I still use this forum for this game this many years later. I keep coming back and getting addicted to UGCW. Once I start a campaign I'm hooked for weeks at a time.
  4. I think Chickamauga, and the pre battles before it, is where the game begins. The battles up to Cold Harbor and afterwards are by far my favorite and the ones I've spent the most time on. The key to this game is preparing your army specifically for these battles. Granted they are extremely difficult especially on the 2 hardest levels but that is what makes this game so fun. It would suck if you could just walk through them. If calvary were a little bit more manageable this would be the perfect civil war game.
  5. One more thing I haven't seen mentioned on here and I've been doing this all along. On the multiple day battles or even the battles like 2nd Bull Run and Fredricksburgh with the distraction mode. I've tended to not build my full army until after those openings or on the 2nd day. It seems like the enemy will have fewer men if you do it this way from my experience. A good way to thwart the scaling some. I have a ton of hours but only been playing since the final release. I never heard of this game when it was still beta. One of the most addictive games I've played in my life.
  6. Thank you so much for these!!! Excellent thread. I have been focused on playing with smaller unit sizes and didn't realize you could play this with such big brigades. Trying it all over again as we speak. Best of luck Col, and excellent videos! Best I've found on this game by far.
