Yet another map: Naval Action map
Eduard L'Aquila replied to Felix Victor's topic in Maps - Development forum
@Felix Victor I can't seem to move the protractor and arrows in the "plot a course" view anymore. I've tried it on Firefox and Chrome, both in normal and incognito modes, F5'ing and shift/ctrl-F5'ing.- 1,326 replies

Same problem on Peace. On Discord, EU players are logged in but non-EU players seem to be having an issue.

Is there any specific reason for doing this? -
Yet another map: Naval Action map

@Felix Victor if you don't mind me asking, as I'm sure you're probably the only person outside of the devs that know this, what's the scale of your map? Just how far apart, in the game's odd mix of real world units, is 2000,2000 from 2001,2000? I ask this because I've been trying to make sense out of the game's distances, i.e., just how large are the PB circles are, how far from "zero" the actual PB circle is drawn, etc. I have being doing measurements using your coordinate system (which, I absolutely must compliment you on its elegance) but it would be great to have an actual scale for translate it into something other than "NAMap Units".- 1,326 replies

PVE Hostility Missions: Unable to join a battle
Eduard L'Aquila replied to Eduard L'Aquila's topic in Support
There may be a work around for this. For the Pointe-a-Pitre hostilities, both Hostility Missions were started clicking "Join Alone" - the battle group naturally wasn't drawn in to the instance but, when they entered the Crossed Swords circle that appears in the Overworld, they were able to join without a problem. -
PVE Hostility Missions: Unable to join a battle
Eduard L'Aquila replied to Eduard L'Aquila's topic in Support
@Ink We just did the Jacmel hostilities (03:00 server time, 06 August) and the same joining problems happened. This time I had the missions and, for the first one, I joined "as a group" and one of the members of the party crashed and had to relog, the other one got kicked out of the battle and had to wait before joining. For the second battle, I joined "alone" and both other captains were able to join right away. Weirdness also happened with other GB groups taking part in the hostilities - they mostly didn't have a problem in the first battle but had a problem joining a second one, unless it was a battle already in progress. I have this recorded if it needs to be reviewed. -
@admin, a few of us PVE players speculate on the port raid selection and, while I find it entertaining trying to figure out how it works and enjoy the surprises they bring, would it be possible to clarify a few questions? 1. My theory is that the map is divided into regions and, when the time comes, the least developed port in that region is attacked (which would explain a few ports being targeted repeatedly). Another theory is that one port, from all the least developed ports, is selected to be raided excluding, of course, the ports that have already had a recent raid. Is either theory correct or does it follow another system? 2. In theory, if all the ports in a region or on the map are developed to their limit, with no port points available in any of them, would the least developed port out of the group, despite it being fully developed to the port points limit, be attacked? 3. According to your explanation and what we've seen, no well developed ports have ever been attacked. Is there plan to have for a fully developed port to be raided? Thank you very much for your time

This is possibly a bug. During the Hostilities to for Montecristi (01 Aug, 23:00 server time), after exiting a battle and moving to the next one, two members of the battle group were unable to enter the next battle. The 4 minute clip linked shows what happened - the relevant parts are in the initial 30 seconds of the video. The mission holder/battle group leader started the battle clicking on "join as a group" and the other members were not pulled in to the battle (perhaps a bug also?). When we clicked on the crossed swords and clicked on "Join" and nothing happened, and the battle was already showing that there were TV and FPM players in the battle despite only one player being in the instance (at 0:24 of the clip). We relogged, waited 2 minutes for the timer and were finally allowed to join. This happened at about 23:25 server time, as seen in the Map screen timer at about 3:30 of the video.

Penetration and gun rebalance - review
Eduard L'Aquila replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
This section raises two questions from me: 1. Can we expect Congrieves to actually have a place on ships now? 2. Will we have gun drops for the missing calibers - like 42lb Congrieves and 36lb Blomefields and Navys? I'd ask about 1/4, 1/2, and 2-pood Edinorogs too but I'd already be happy if Congrieves finally became a useful weapon. -

War on War Server. Conquest to return.
Eduard L'Aquila replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
By my interpretation, do you mean that hostility missions would not be made available in ports until the window starts? If that's the case, that's a very interesting idea, perhaps hostilities could also be taken at a neutral port (i.e. the port that's unowned), not only in home nation/allied ports. -

Yet another map: Naval Action map

I have a L'Ocean with an in game thickness of 111, at a +35 bonus (LO(S)/WO(S), 4 Hull Bonus, Navy Planking and Structure Refit) however, when I try to reproduce the ship in NA Map it hits a 106 thickness cap despite seeing more than that in game. I had a search in this thread and saw that there was a 40% (or 44%?) limit to upgrades but the only one I see implemented in the game is the 16kn hard limit on speed. Two questions: Does anyone know if the thickness limit is actually implemented in the game? In my case, if the 106 limit is an actual hard one, I'm wasting an upgrade slot on my ship! Could NA Map remove the visualization limit but leave a message ("above the in game limit"?) for theorycrafting purposes?- 1,326 replies

War on War Server. Conquest to return.

While I understand this and can't find a fault with maintaining hostilities the way they currently are, could it be made that only hostilities missions started after the initial time frame are counted towards the Port Battle counter? It would remove the current uncertainty of "leave at the right second" and turn it into a battle for which nation/clans are more efficient in battle. -
Shipbuilding Timbers Overhaul

The proposal is based on real wood hardness, gravity, elasticity, and yacht building books. But from feedback it is obvious that the change should not be full, but should be partial Thank you for at considering this option. -
Shipbuilding Timbers Overhaul
Eduard L'Aquila replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
It's not really like that. It's mainly WO and WO S taking a hit, the other woods run similar to their original value. So ships already built using WO for the purpose of being tanky and having max HP no longer have that value. It's not even that WO might be good or bad but that ships built for a particular purpose no longer seem like they can fulfill that purpose. It's not only the ships but also the upgrades placed on those WO ships that no longer match the build of the ship in some cases. So basically 99% of PB ships no longer have a good build. It's odd that you say it's not like that while you repeat exactly what I had noticed. Perhaps I didn't clearly expressed myself but I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw that WO suddenly would become (semi?) obsolete. -
Shipbuilding Timbers Overhaul
Eduard L'Aquila replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Let me bounce this out there, from my interpretation of the table is that instead of adding woods around the woods already in the game to rebalance the meta-woods someone decided to nerf (or make them more realistic) the meta woods already in the game, promoting not as used woods in their place? If this is what's happening I feel like this is like someone arbitrarily deciding that gold is too valuable so it's significantly less valuable, the new most valuable metal is copper. -

Is locking the spreadsheet to just oak woods intentional?
