  1. The color of the lines showing firing range still annoys me. It's way too dar for me at times (especially at morning/evening battles). I would really appreciate it, if the color could be tweaked a bit or give us an option to select our prefered color. Also some thing I would still like to see in the future: - add more accurate looking Lutheran Seminary building (Gettysburg map) - add Cemetery gatehouse (Gettysburg map) - add more accurate looking Dunker Church (Antietam map) - add non campaign versions of battles of Washington & Richmond (custom battles) - add option to change players avatar/General's portrait - add more historical accurate portraits of historical Generals (instead of placeholder images) - fix double General Gibbon reward in campaign - Officers level up way too fast during campaign. after sometime you have way too many Major Generals. It should be rebalanced a bit, so you will have less Major Generals.
  2. Yes. I would like to change my avatar too. Would make the campaign a bit more unique and personal. Also I'm still hoping for more historical acurate portraits of famous historical Generals to be added too. Placeholder images are okay, but more accurate portaits would be a nice little addition.
  3. First of all: Congratulations to the release of version 1.0 of the game! Though, personally I'm wondering why version 1.0 doesn't inlcude any fixes/additions compared to 0.97. The game is in a great state and doesn't need too many improvements but I was hoping to see some small graphical improvements/eye candy added before final release. Some things I still want to see added/improved: - Please improve color of lines showing firing range! They are too hard to see at times (especially at morning/evening)! Or let us select prefered color! - Fix US General John Gibbon being available twice during a campaign - Please let us choose an avatar/portrait pic for our own General. The generic pic is okay, but I would like to choose a different pic - Please add more historical accurate portraits of historical Generals! It bugs me a bit that famous well know Generals are only depicted with generic pics! - Please change Lutheran Seminary building (Gettysburg map) and Dunker Church (Antietam map) to more historical accuarte looking buidlings! - Please add Cemetary gatehouse to Gettysburg map - Please let us zoom in a little bit closer to the battlefield!
  4. I remember in "Sid Meier's Gettysburg" the game would play "Battle Hymn of the Republic" when the Union won a battle/Scenario and "Dixie" when the South won. Something like this would be a nice little addition to UGCW too and add a bit more flavor and immersion to the game. The generic music at the battle results screen is okay, but some "real" Civil War music would be nice addition IMO. For example you can see here at around 4:50 what i'm talking about, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3x1OForjZk
  5. lol I mean having great Generals twice is not a bad thing, but it surely is weird and ahistorical, unless he had a secret twin I'm not aware of. But honestly: It doesn't make any sense to get him twice. Neither from a gameplay point of view nor from a historical point of view . I would like to see it fixed with one of the final patches before full release of the game.
  6. So, apparently you get US General John Gibbon twice during the campaign. Once purchaseable with reputation points and once as a reward with the Iron Brigade. As I assume it's probably a bug/error (and really weird to have him twice during a campaign) I suggest to replace the purchaseable John Gibbon with a different historical US General and only have Gibbon as a reward with Iron Brigade.
  7. Nice new update. The game is looking better and better but I'm still hoping for a few small things to be added/changed before release: - Please change color of lines showing firing range! [or give us an option to select prefered color ]. Those lines are so hard to see at times right now. - add more historical accurate portraits of historical Generals - give us an option to change portrait of "our" General we create at the beginning of the game - let us zoom in a little bit closer to the battle - replace current Dunker Church (Antietam map) & Lutheran Seminary building (Gettysburg map) with more accurate buildings. - add non campaign versions [as historical or custom battles] of the "Battle of Washington", "Battle of Richmond", "Batlle of Wilderness" and "Battle of Spotsylvania"
  8. Please read what I wrote above: The unit switched position right at the moment the phase changed (within 1 second of gameplay). There was no time for the unit to move around my lines in 1 second. It was the exact same unit (jenkins cavalry). It disappearerd south of my lines only to show up north of my lines. I could see the unit disappearing south and reappeaing north. I saw it changing position. It was NOT that i lost track of the unit and it showed up two minutes later. It was literally "transported" to a new position on the map within a second of gameplay. Unfortunately I don't have an exact screenshot of this situation, but when I replayed Shiloh I took a screenshot at the same phase to better illustrate my issue. Blue circle indicates jenkins' position at the end of the hornet's nest phase, red circle his new position right at the beginning of the next phase. It just happend within a few seconds of gameplay, during the phase switch. There was no way for him to break through my lines or turn around my lines.
  9. Yes. 100% sure. They were south of my lines the second the phase ended and north of my lines the moment the next phase continued.
  10. No. They DID NOT get trough my lines. They were south of my lines attacking an artillery battery the moment before the next phase started and with the start of the next phase they were telported to north of my lines. Unfortunately I don't have screenshots of before and after it happened, but I could actually see them being teleported between the phases. They just appeared all of a sudden north of my lines. There was no way for them to break through my lines and appear north of my lines in 1 second of gameplay. It's clearly a bug. I had a game were they flanked my lines and captured the VP but this time they were clearly teleported from the south to end of my line to the north end of my line.
  11. I played the Battle of Shiloh as the union (campaign version). During the „Hornet’s Nest phase“ of the first day, Jenkins CS cavalry attacked one of my artillery batteries positioned at the Hornet’s Nest. Then the next phase of the battle started (where you have to retreat to Pittsburg Landing) and all of a sudden Jenkins CS cavalry was teleported to north of my lines, almost directly to the Pittsburg Landing victory point! I reported this issue in game already, but I just wanted to bring this to attention. I hope the devs are aware of this and it will be fixed soon.

  13. OP is right. Many historical Generals still have random placeholder portraits in the game in version 0.90 of the game. Most of the Generals who were in UG: Gettysburg are depicted with accurate portraits, most of the other Generals are not. Grant does not have an accuarte portrait atm, just a placeholder pic resembling him a bit. I hope there will be more accurate portraits of historical Generals for version 1.0 of the game, at least for the more well known like TJ Jackson, US Grant, William Sherman, Ambrose Burnside, Joseph Hooker, George B McClellan, AS Johnston and more. Also would like to see an option to select a portrait for our own General (player character)
  14. I support this. Would help a lot with skirmishers IMO.
  15. In the battle of Gaines Mill CS General A.P. Hill is depicted with the wrong portrait picture too. His historical picture is in the game, but in this battle he is depicted with a random placeholder pic, which doesn't look like him at all. Still hoping they will add more accurate portraits of historical Generals for version 1.0 of the game instead of placeholder images (at least for the more famous ones like T.J. Jackson, A.S. Johnston, Joseph E. Johnston, U.S. Grant, William Sherman, Jospeh Hooker, Ambrose Burnside, George B. McClellan, etc.)
  16. The new intelligence reports are not translated yet. They only appear in english so far.
  17. Sounds like some nice fixes and additions. I'm still hoping you will work on the color of the lines indicating firing range in some patch. It's so hard to see those lines at times.
  18. I have a few things I would love to see added/changed to the game, before the final release. I really hope this will be added/changed sometime: - Give us an option to choose the portrait of our own General/character - Add a few more „real“ portraits of historical Generals (instead of placeholder portraits) - Let us zoom in a little bit closer to the battlefield - Change color of lines indicating firing range (they are hard to see right now, especially in morning/evening phases of battles, when the map is a bit darker) - Add non campaign versions of battles of Washington & Richmond (either as historical battles or custom battles) [as they are major battles in the game and I would love to play them without having to play the campaign] - Add non campaign , historical versions of the „minor“ battles of Wilderness & Spotsylvania [they are just minor battles in the campaign but I would love to play them outside of the campaign as they are historical battles and pretty large battles for „minor battles“] Gettysburg map: - Add cemetery gatehouse to the map - Change appearance of Lutheran semenary building so it looks a bit more like the real building [building with tower] Antietam map: - Change appearance of Dunker church so it looks a bit more like the real building [white building, without tower] The following is absolutely not necessary, but if this is somehow possible I would like to see the following graphical improvements/additions added tot he game: - Add flags to infantry units - add a handful of unique uniforms to each side (3 or 4, unique uniforms on each side like Iron Brigade and Zouaves)
  19. Hello! So, since today i'm playing with the newly translated German version of the game. However I noticed a few minor issues and un-translated texts. First of all, when you look at your weapons in the armory and want to check the weapons stats the game still displays "damage" "melee" etc in the small pop up box that shows up. This text is not translated. Second: I played the Battle of Gettysburg as the Union and the mission objectives of the first phase were also displayed in english "Hold Seminary Ridge" etc. Third, and the most annoying issue with the German text, is some weird formating/text size issue. When your Officers are killed or wounded during a battle, the German text displayed is way too large/long. The text covers most of the small unit info box on the lower left of the screen. See the attached screenshot. TBH; I would have perfered if this was kept in English WIA and KIA. I know what it means without translation and it fits way better onto the screen. Hope at least for some fix for this as it looks a bit weird.
  20. Yes. this needs to be addressed! I made a post about this issue too. The lines are barely visible at times, especially in the morning/evening phase of certain battles, when the battle field is darker than usual.
  21. I know it's just a minor thing and not high on the priority list, but this error in the battle of Antietam is still not fixed. Commander of XII Corps is still called Burnside instead of Mansfield and Commander of IX Corps is still called IX Corps instead of Burnside. A quick fix for this would be appreciated. Thank you!
  22. Hello! I would like to make 2 small request. I think it has been discussed before, but there are two minor things I would like to see in the finished version of the game. 1) Please let us zoom in a bit closer to the battlefield! I like the game graphics and animations, but would like to zoom in a bit closer to the action at times to see what's going on at the front lines. 2) Please adjust the color of the line indicating the firing range of units! It's sometimes very hard to see the firing range (especially in early morning and evening phases of battles, when the map is darker). Sometimes I cannot see the line of fire at all. Please make some color adjustments to the line of fire, so it's easier to see
  23. I would still love to see a more accurate Lutheran Seminary building and the cemetery gate house added to the Gettysburg map. Hope it will be added/changed before the final release of the game.
  24. Yeah, would be nice if you could add an option to select our avatar pic. Also, I hope you will add some more pics of historical generals at some point.
  25. I wish we could combine brigade also in the camp screen and not just during battles. So that we could combine two weak brigades into one stronger one, if we don't have enough money or recruits to afford to replenish the weak brigades.
