  1. Before I begin I'm going to say that I love this game and I loved it's predecessor, UG:G, and I'm looking forward to the day that this is finally released in it's complete form. With the necessary buttkissings out of the way here I go. Career points are one of the best and interesting mechanics in this game in my opinion, letting you choose the direction you wish to develop your army and strategies. I am especially glad that these points do not directly effect the combat capabilities of your units, but only affect the camp/army building phase. (expect for logistics of course). Sadly, some of these are must haves while others... not so much, I rarely invest in logistics, medicine, training or economy. Why should I care about 2,5% discount on new weapons, since a point in politics brings 2,5% more money AND recruits overall. So I started thinking about how I would change these points to make them all roughly the same relevance. And these are just my opinions and suggestions, so if you have other ideas, do tell. Politics increases the amount of recruits and reputation. Economy reduces the cost of weapons and amount of gold earned. Training reduces the amount of skill loss you suffer when replenishing with rookies and cheaper veterans. Medicine and logistics are combined to one single skill, battlefield support or something like that, increasing the amount of ammo/reducing the cost of buying supplies/increasing the size of supply wagon's aura AND increasing the amount of soldiers restored after the battle. This would represent more than just wounded soldiers coming back to combat, this would have designated stretcher bearers/casualty stations and ''military police'' rounding up stragglers, lost soldiers and deserters. Rest of the skills I have no ideas for... now. But maybe we'll think of something
  2. Sounds good otherwise, but I had about 5k confeds charge me out of that farm before I even had a chance to bring my reinforcements down from the hill. On which they spent the next hour in a shooting match with a endless stream of enemy brigades. That single minor battle had twice the amount of casualties in two hours as the entire first battle of Bull Run in real life.
  3. I've played UG:G for 50 hours so I'm not a complete noob when it comes to this game, but I had 15k confederates coming from all sides against my 9k troops. In the river crossing battle I had 15k confederates, mostly 2-star brigades defending a favourable position against my attacks. I know that this is still in development and that scaling is a thing. But just once in my life I'd like to fight a campaign battle where my forces are not totally outgunned, outclassed and outscaled. There is a difference between challenging and absolutely ridicilous. Do I actually have to powerplay through every battle in this campaign, minimizing losses, maxing xp, optimizing my career points and armoury management to absurd levels, just to stand any chance in campaigns?
  4. Just asking for tips and tricks and wondering what's the thing with this battle? I get to deploy with three brigades out in the open and I am immediately attacked by superior forces from the north. I can barely get to cover at the same time as they do. That would be just fine on it's own, but then the confederates just pour up from my rear with ANOTHER force that outnumbers my defenders on the area. I attempted the battle three times and the only way I can avoid total and complete annihilation between these waves of utter bullsh*t is to abandon the objective and pull back to the hills as soon as the battle commences. So how did you manage to fight that battle?
