  1. Would REALLY be nice if ya could figure some way to play this game in multi-play. Either pvp, or 2v2? That would be SCHWEET!
  2. Methinks that investing in the medical, and political avenues, of building up your Corps, and keeping your army organization, at a "manageable" level, the disbanding of badly beat up units, and dead, or injured div.leader units, would serve your cause much better, then all the investing done for "training", and all the money spent "buying" veterans. As it "seems", through these eyeballs, anyway, that, the XP points that a soldier gains after any particular engagement, follows him, or her (LOL), until, they end up on the "casualty" list. Admittedly, however, this may not sound like much, as there isn't a YUGE (lol) significance, when drafting them back into a unit, but, it is certainly "noticeable"! Somewhat of an added "perk" using this strategy, is an ability of using lower ranked div. commanders, with their soldiers, losing "less" XP traits. Which "enhances" your ability in leveling up lower ranked officers. Of course, an "unknown", is literally, just how much XP points a veteran soldier "shares" with new recruits in betweenst "draftings".
  3. Yeah!...something as simple as toggling on/off on each unit. Like the "hold fire" "h" button, for resupplying, eh? Way it is now, is attempting a "dance of the artful dodger", in steering supply wagons away from those that got. And then, as if one needs more distraction, fending off that aloof cav. brigade, or routed inf. brigade the AI "sneakily" routs behind your advance!...lol Great Game! That seems to become even greater as "time goes by". I CAN see this game eventually going "multi-player", as Generals become ever more skillful then they are at present, rendering the AI?....... Way it is now?...I shall never get much past 2nd Manassas, (CSA Campaign), when the next patch er hotfix, renders my current campaign, a moot point!...Starting to "label" my self as "General-Begin...AGAIN!"....LOL! As far as investing in "Recon. Points" in Campaign mode? Perhaps, further along campaign trail? As it is now? AI had best worry about THEIR recon points!...lol
  4. Ya mean, like the 2D, turned based, "chess like", civil war, multiplayer game of yesteryear? When a 56kps modem connection was "the shit?"...LOL!....And these RTS games were in its infancy? Yeah?...It do.
  5. I realize you didn't see my Cav, surrounding them south of the woods for quite a spell. At least 15 er 20 seconds on the game clock, Whist I followed them all the way THROUGH the woods, until they lead me to Gregg's incoming HQ n Cav. The picture that ya see there, is when the 2 wagons seperated. For the previous 20 seconds or so game time, there was ONLY 1 wagon!
  6. Anyone else have/had this problem? Allows me to walks ye down the garden path, so to speaks....lol.......There, I was at the "Yankee Ambush"!...Moved me guys around in the "red hex" "staging" area...laying it out for the PERFECT trap!....The timing of this is CRITICAL, so ya don't wanna springs it TOO soon! I hit GO, and sent 1 inf through the woods to north to cut off retreat, skirmishers to a patch of wood further east and north to slow down Gregg's arriving on the scene. Several more brigades jez deep enough in the center to not be "spotted", and a coupla more brigades in the south to set up a coffee clutch, in the case they made it that far!...lol I ran the north inf though the woods, to the edge, and when they got there, is when I sent the center a runnin' out to disrupt the column. PERFECT!....The center of the union column broke off in a run to the east like they heard Mess Call!...lol There they were! 3 supply wagons all by there lonesomes!! Hadda cav unit in the south, and captured the 1 wagon, and whilst I was watchin' that, I LOST SIGHT of the other wagon! But, thaz ok.I'll pick up that 3rd wagon when Gregg comes from the north! So, in the chasing the Yanks east, with an inf. unit, I had another cav unit trying to get through the inf. unit TO the supply wagon, to capture it. The inf unit and wagon passed RIGHT THROUGH each other.no damage, but no capture, either! Hmmm!......So, as the wagon continued plodding along towards Gregg's HQ, Inf. kept chasin' Yanks, and my cav unti try'd n TRY'D to capture that wagon, with no success! And, it wasn't UNTIL I had followed them all the way to Gregg's HQ, AND 2 850 mounted cav units, that there was a separation, and it was THEN, I seen....THERE'S 2 FRIGGING WAGONS!....Now, a 607 mounted cav unit SHOULD be able to, if not capture at LEAST 1 wagon, shoulda been able to take BOTH of 'em! Way it worked out?..I didn't capture EITHER ONE OF 'EM!! Which left my greatly outnumbered cav unit face to face with 2-850 mounted cav units!...NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! This picture is where I STOPPED right THERE, and wrote y'all a letter concerning this. After running along RIGHT besides 'em...THROUGH the woods. Also, kinda funny 2 supposedly "heavily laden" wagons can "keep abreast" THROUGH woods, with charging Cavalry! That's the why, I couldn't turn 'em away!....also noticed same thing with running men and charging horses. Hopefully you come up with some kinda fix for this/these situations. Major Mayhem19 aka Bear
  7. What I liked about MP CWG2 was the community of players, all having an interest in an horrendous part of our be-speckled past. Vestiges of which, are still heard and felt to this very day. Some more then others, but I reckon that holds true on pretty much any topic brought up for discussion. What makes this "particular" niche game so different from others, such as the napoleonic wars WW1, WW2, is that it is uniquely and TOTALLY American, IMHO. That there are STILL battlefields that haven't YET seen the "silver shovel", is as much a tribute to our history, and as much a topic for "buffs" as any particular General who's great greart grand son's fancy themselves in "reliving", if even for a brief time when immersed in a particular battle, and/or campaign. For "these" players, MP would be fun for them, and me as well!...lol A TS server would be nice, as it's more viable, then it was in '97 when CWG2 came out. But chat worked fine then. And, beings an RTS game? More of a necessity, I would think. As like more endeavors then gaming; Would ya get rich from making the game MP? Prolly not, but you'd prolly make a decent wage from it.
  8. Having been a staunch player of CWG2, "way back when", and during the years that followed, when technology LEFT the best danged "turn-based" Civil War game EVER, for the buzzards; I can safely say, even after having purchased UG-CW, and only played The one campaign battle of Taking and holding the fort along the Potomac? The AI, even though MUCH better then CWG2, is STILL no match against another "seasoned" human opponent. Once he/she learns how to co-ordinate his men properly. (uhh...that would be me...lol) I know this is "early access" and tweaks and fixes are still yet forthcoming, I am IN the hopes of: A) Please, please PLEASE, make this game MP! (B- Make it where players MAY make their own scenarios/(even) campaigns, How cool would that be, eh? I bought this game AFTER the first big game fix, and, I'm a TOTAL NOOB to RTS, so can't give any feedback as how she played prior, but, am not finding out how to "Undo" a change in Camp, after hitting the apply button. Causing me grief when I find I don't have enough muskets/rifles/artillery/MONEY, and I end up scrapping it and reloading "Auto-Save". And then dunno how to "save" the upgrades I have just made, so they'll be there for the next battle. Jez an FYI for those I've read loved CWG2, but can't play it anymore?....It can be played on 64 bit machines, which is easy. Also can be played online (again). Thaz a little more tricky, however.
