  1. Please explain why there is Cartagena tar in some ports like Tumbado for example (along with White Oak and Live Oak) with contracts but nothing has dropped in over 48 hours? If there is nothing going to drop in any of these ports then remove the item from the shop. You are just wasting players time and money putting up contracts for these items that will never drop.
  2. Hi, VPN has resolved the issue it would appear the Thai Gov is blocking certain ports. Thanks for your help. Regards Belamy
  3. Hi, Where is the European server located as I am going to try VPN
  4. Has this been the case all along or only since Unity 5 has been introduced. If they have been required all along then how does that explain that I have been playing on EU for 18 months without a problem until recently. Too late to call current ISP as I have now committed to the new ISP that will be connected on 20 Nov. Belamy
  5. Hi, This is getting absolutely ridiculous, it has now been 4 days with a game that is unplayable, if any of the ports I have goods and ships in are taken then I lose as I have no ability to move them also I am unable to assist to defend or attack in PB's. I can no longer trade, and my building will all be full with no way of producing anymore, it is becoming a lost cause and I am getting very frustrated with the situation. I have now organised to change to a new ISP provider which has cost me more money and this will not happen until Monday week 20th November. I will be very upset if this does not resolve the problem even though I believe that it is not the problem of the ISP provider but the EU game server as the game is fully playable with no issues on PVP Global. Explain that one other than blaming the ISP provider for having connection issues to Europe. Four days solid is not a temporary connection issue, especially when I have been playing EU for over 18 months (Excess of 3,000 hours) and this has not occurred before, definitely not to this extent. 6. Hi, When logging on the Shard selection shows PVP EU as having 355 pings and Global as having 336 pings yet I can get onto Global and play normally where on EU I cannot get in to open world as all I see is water and underwater but my ship is there and could easily be attacked while I wait the time to Ctrl Alt Del and go through my computers task manager to get out of the game.
  7. Hi, What country are you based in? The Devs are saying that it is my ISP provider that is the problem but I do not believe that as I have no problem with Global or any other games or internet. Belamy
  8. I have been playing this game on EU server for over 18 months and have in excess of 3,000 hours on the game and have not experienced any problems like this before. This has only happened over the past week or so.
  9. So now after maintenance today there are no pings on EU and I cannot even get onto the login queue. I can get on to Global with no issues. My friend who also plays and lives not far from me is on the game on EU.
  10. Hi, Over the last few days on PVP EU I have had connection issues, slow to connect, then when I entered open world that is where it stayed not being able to do anything. After maintenance on Monday it finally allowed me to sail. Then at the PB Cayo del Anclote I entered the battle but was then stuck in the "Entering Combat" screen with a message saying connecting with a count up in seconds and to use Shift+Esc to escape. As my ship was being attacked according to other players I did this to get out of the PB. A few hours later when I got onto the game again I could only operate in the ports I could not enter open world as all I would get was the water swirling on the screen, I had to Ctrl Alt Del to get out of the game each time then every time I log back on I enter open world with the same problem. I am now stuck with my ship on the dock in open world and cannot do a thing on the game now for nearly 2 days now. I have sent F11's with no response. Initially the Ping was fluctuating from 243 to 367ms on Shard selection but in game if it was in the 300's would only be 210-250 I have tried shutting my computer down and restarting but nothing changes. Today on Shard selection it is showing as 258ms. I am based in Thailand and up until last week there has been no problem and now it is a continual problem and even if I could get my ship to sea in open world I would not be able to enter combat without the same as the PB experience happening. This now makes the game unplayable. Belamy
  11. [Flipper687] Well said I agree wholeheartedly. When you log on there should be a button to enable positioning or leave as is. Wish the Dev's had the same thoughts.
  12. NAVIGATION Have people lost the plot? This is a game of Naval Action, emphasis on ACTION, this is not an old world sailing simulator, it is a game of action, trading, PVP, PVE and Port Battles. In the era that the game portrays you as the Captain had a crew that had specific duties with one of the most important being Navigation, this was a full time job, the navigator did not issue orders pertaining to gunnery or tactics he was solely there to give the Captain the best position and course to steer to avoid shoals, reefs, shallows and any know obstructions to the ships safety. Every hour sextant fixes along with any possible landmarks, lighthouses or lights from known towns or ports would be taken and transferred to the chart and updating the Captain or Officer of the Watch. This in mind, the ships GPS position and the Lat and Long lines on the map (that had a built in inaccuracy) as before the wipe would in fact be the information passed to the Captain (Player) and by switching to the map view would portray the Captain looking at the Navigators calculations and knowing where the ship is. The current protractor is inaccurate in the fixing of the initial position and only gives a baseline projection that could be done easier with the same accuracy by eyeballing it. The baseline projection from point A to B does not take in account wind shifts, shallows, reefs or Islands and therefore to travel long distances to another port or position in open ocean it would take a number of baselines (done separately) to know points on the map taking longer to travel and leaving the ship vulnerable to attack while you are trying to navigate at the speed in open world that you are travelling. I reiterate that this is a game that is supposed to be enjoyable to play not painstakingly hard and frustrating, think of the new players, I feel sorry for them as they will be disheartened very quickly and go to a game that is enjoyable and fun to play. Tell me where is the fun in not knowing your position on the open world map? I have done navigation in my 31 years in the Navy and find this just another attempt to lose players. Wake up and smell the roses.
  13. Well it has appeared that the other factions are not into PVP in a region to escalate hostilities, they do not want to allow the occupying nation to have any chance of de-escalating the hostilities in the region, just take the easy way out and just bomb Regional Capitals to create an instantaneous Port Battle all at the same time knowing full well that they can log off in front of the port and be invincible from attack by the defending nation. Maybe they are concerned that in the next patch they will be unable to log off and log on in front of the port that is why there is now seven port battles scheduled for the same time on the 30th. This is truly science fiction at its best, my enthusiasm to continue with this game is also dying just as quick as the game is. I will say again that the flag was the better option, as it at least it gave some form of realism and required some tactics and strategy to try and achieve the result sort after. After the full wipe are we going to have port battles in basic cutters? Players will just give up if they are to lose everything and start all over again. I know I would be, with a 90% chance of not coming back.
  14. The defender always had the advantage as they were able to enter port, re-supply, re-arm, repair their ships and obtain more crew, where the attackers had to make do with what they had and what extra supplies, ammunition, crew and repair equipment they could carry which would also restrict their fighting ability. They would try to lighten their ships by setting up a temporary repair base as close as they could to the area of action. Many defenders still have to sail to the port designated for the PB as they may not have an outpost there and I am sure you would not give up an outpost that is producing materials and that you have other ships docked and spend at least 15,000 just to relocate to the port for a PB, you would just sail there. So therefore both sides would still have to sail to the port and by allowing log off in front of the port it is moving the game into the realm of science fiction and taking away the PVP and tactics required by both sides to defend and attack the port in question.
  15. Firstly, since the change away from the flag for port battles they have become an absolute farce and are in the realm of science fiction. This is due to the ability of opposing forces being able at anytime to log off in front of the Port designated for the battle then logging on with co-ordination on team speak, knowing full well that with the time available to them before they can be tagged into battle they will make it to the cross swords and enter the battle without any problem what so ever. What part of this is reality or even partial reality? What use is a screening fleet? They cannot do anything except watch the ships appear in front of the port and enter the port battle under a timer that allows them to be invincible. What a joke and for this reason the game will lose players. Sailing the flag to a port to commence a port battle was more realistic, more fun and had some forms of strategy and tactics to achieve the goal. Currently, especially for a screening ship, it is boring, time consuming and a complete waste of time, you might as well throw the dice to decide the winner of the port battle. Secondly, the ability to bomb a port with war supplies to immediately trigger a port battle goes against the reason for having hostilities in a region, to escalate towards a port battle with the ability for the opposing side to de-escalate. Let us all just go out and place bombs everywhere and have 10 port battles scheduled for the same time all over the map. You are already pushing the realms of science fiction, why not continue, if the death of the game is what you are looking for. The player number are already declining at a steady rate, so how do you expect new players to come into a game that already shows signs of deterioration. Before the patch this game was great and I would recommend it to others, but now I fail to see the attraction and would not recommend this game. Do not forget we are the customers, but I think that has long been forgotten.
