  1. I don't think there has to be a war between pvp and pve players, each appeals to its own and has its merits, I think most people do a little of both with some eco thrown in. I see no reason why it should not be possible to be rewarded equally for what ever you want to do. So an hours PVP garners you a smililar reward as an hours pve or an hours eco.
  2. I would think luck as well as any other *magic* skill or passive has no place at all in a skill based game. The very idea that a battle comes down to a random chance generator makes a mockery of wanting fights determined by any kind of ability of the players. By adding a trinket that gives you a passive bonus to crew skill or moral or anything just ensures that people have to go out and grind x mission to get x trinket and that is most certainly a slippery slope to start going down.
  3. I like this attitude, please stick to your guns.
  4. I feel this is a great suggestion and that it will certainly add an element of the unknown to a high seas encounter. Is that a fat juicy merchantman filled with loot, or armed to the teeth and able to not only fend me off but to turn the tables on me. The ability to customise one's own ship to a variety of uses or equipment load outs for differing play styles is a fantastic idea marry that to a customisable crew and you will have the ability to make your ship unique to you wether it be a subtle customisation or a completley crazy build no one would even think of, it would be yours and yours alone. Having a spyglass view of the ship that does not reveal detail really works for me in that ship recognition will be more of an art form with the player not having the magic knowledge that you would gain from mousing over a ship in POTBS.
